2006 Top Prospects

Justin Walker  3B - 2006 - Dallas, TX   Texas A&M

Walker is a very talented 2 way player who looks tailor made to be a top flight closer down the road. He hits with power and fields very well. Walker has two plus pitches with his 89 mph sinking fastball and his hard biting 75 mph curveball.

Darrin Jones  OF - 2006 - Alva, FL   Uncommitted

Jones is a big strong kid who throws very well and has a tremendous bat. He reached 84 mph from the outfield with good carry. Jones best tool is his big bat. He has great power to all fields.

Jarrad Watkins  RHP - 2006 - Farmington, NM   New Mexico

Watkins is a very athletic player who pitches and plays infield. He showed his good arm by throwing 86 mph from the mound and 85 mph from the field. He has very good actions in the field and has a very quick powerful swing.

Cody Madison  OF - 2006 - Moreno Valley, CA   Uncommitted

Madison is a all around strong athlete. He has a strong arm throwing 88 mph from the outfield and a 84 mph sinking fastball. He also showed a good slider at 73 mph. Madison has a very quick bat and the ball jumps off of it in a hurry.

DJ Ferguson  RHP - 2006 - Jupiter, FL   Uncommitted

Ferguson is a very talented right handed pitcher who topped out at 87 mph with two good off speed pitches. His curveball was at 72 mph with good rotation and his change up had very good sink at 78 mph. He likes to attack the hitter as well.

Christopher Altieri  MIF - 2006 - Miami, FL   Uncommitted

Altieri had the fastest 60 time at the event with a 6.81. Not only can he run but he has a strong arm (82 mph) and a solid bat. Altieri also has very good actions in the field as well.

Kyle Holloway  C - 2006 - Deerfield Beach, FL   Lynn

Holloway was the best catcher at the event. He has a strong arm (80 mph) and a very quick release resulting in a 1.92 pop time. Holloway has a very good swing as well. He has good power and makes consistent contact.

Tim Griffin  C - 2006 - Jacksonville, FL   Uncommitted

Griffin is a good all around player who performed very well at the event. He has a good strong arm (87 mph from the outfield) and a quick release behind the dish (1.96). Griffin is a polished switch hitter with some power. He topped out at 84 mph on the mound.

TJ Karr  MIF - 2006 - Windermere, FL   Uncommitted

Karr has solid all around tools. He threw 84 mph across the infield and had good actions. He was also one of the faster runners at the event running a 7.04 60. He has some power and attacks the ball. Karr also threw 83 mph from the mound.

Carrick Tuck  RHP - 2006 - Gainesville, FL   Brevard CC

Tuck was one of the hardest throwers at the event. His fastball topped out at 87 mph with good run. He also threw a tight slider at 73 mph and a plus change up at 79 mph. Tuck is very consistent with his delivery and has very good potential.

2007 Top Prospects

Ryan Laing  1B - 2007 - Rancho Palos Verdes, CA   Kansas

Laing is a very strong powerful kid who has tremendous power. He has great bat speed and a very good idea how to hit. Laing has light tower power in batting practice and games. He should continue to get better as he sees better pitching.

Robbie Collier  OF - 2007 - Jacksonville, FL   North Florida

Collier is a promising 2 way player who has a very strong arm (86 mph from the outfield). He is a very good defensive outfielder with good speed (7.1 60). Collier is a very consistent hitter who puts the ball in play.

2008 Top Prospects

Raiko Alfonso  MIF - 2008 - Key West, FL   Florida International

Alfonso has one of the best gloves in the country in any age group. He makes many outstanding plays and also has a good arm (81 mph). He is a switch hitter who sprays the ball to all fields and makes consistent contact. Alfonso is a very polished infielder who will continue to get better.

Adrian Nieto  C - 2008 - Hialeah, FL   South Florida

Nieto is a switch hitting catcher with very good tools. He has tremendous power from both sides like not many kids have. He runs very well for a catcher as well (7.39 60). Nieto has a strong arm (81 mph) with a quick release resulting in a 2.03 pop time.

Beau Didier  SS - 2008 - Federal Way, WA   Louisiana State

Didier is a very good left handed hitting shortstop who is a very solid fielder as well. He has a professional approach to hitting helped in part by his exposure to professional baseball in his family. He has a solid arm (79 mph) and runs pretty well, but will continue to improve in all areas.

Eric Hosmer  1B - 2008 - Cooper City, FL   Arizona State

Hosmer is a very projectable 2 way player. He really attacks the ball at the plate and is very advanced for his age. He also has a very strong arm. He threw 86 mph across the infield. Hosmer will definitely be someone to watch down the road.
