2021 Top Prospects

Rene Lastres  C - 2021 - Hialeah Gardens, FL
Florida

Rivals any backstop in the country with his big right-handed arm strength, and he showed that again throwing 82 mph and popping a 1.82 during drills. He also hit a mammoth home run off a 93 mph during game play.

Jonathan Santucci  OF - 2021 - Leominster, MA

Has an advanced approach at the plate, with an ballfields approach. He showed more pull power, lifting a couple long balls to the pull side during batting practice. He also took a terrific round on defense, showing 96 mph arm strength with ease and accuracy.

Elmer Rodriguez Cruz  RHP - 2021 - Trujillo Alto, PR
Oregon

Was absolutely electric on the mound. has sat in the low-90s with his fastball and peaked at 94. He has a very good breaking ball and the potential of a plus changeup. His body is also Uber-projectable.

Carter Jensen  C - 2021 - Kansas City, MO
Louisiana State

Long known for his top-end ability on both sides of the ball, he reaffirmed what type of potential he possesses. He got the barrel going and lofted a couple balls well over the right field wall with effortless bat speed.

Derek (DJ) Radtke  RHP - 2021 - Marietta, GA
Georgia

Radke was extremely impressive. He has worked hard on his devilry and arm stroke and it paid dividends with a loud outing. He was up to 92 with his fastball and showed very good feel to spin the ball.

Grant Hussey  1B - 2021 - Washington, WV
West Virginia

Showed some of the best raw power of anyone at the event during batting practice. He is young for the class and already showing huge strength in his left-handed swing. He is a solid defender at first base too.

Ryan Oniel Cepero Roman  SS - 2021 - Hatillo, PR
Florida Southwestern State College

Cepero Roman is an outstanding defensive shortstop in all areas. He showed easy plus range, helped by his 6.40 speed, and has a 94 mph arm as well. Keep a close eye on him between now and the draft.

Brock Daniels  SS - 2021 - St Louis, MO
Oklahoma

Daniels is one of the most polished players in the 2021 class both offensively and defensively. He projects as a left-handed hitting second baseman who will perform immediately at the next level.

Alex Ulloa  SS - 2021 - Cutler Bay, FL
Oklahoma State

Is a high energy player with tools to match. The short stop ran a 6.96 in the sixty, notched a 99 mph exit velocity, and put up the best DK numbers at the event. He has always shown well in games, as well.

Jordan Viars  OF - 2021 - Prosper, TX
Arkansas

Easily has some of the best pure hand speed of any player at the event. There is massive power potential and he even hit a ball that cleared the centerfield wall just next to the 412 foot sign. It's a dangerous left-handed stroke.

Has good lateral range at shortstop and smooth actions to go a long with good carry on his throws. He brings a very good hit tool offensively and stays with his all fields approach.

Is a very exciting two way prospect. He showed excellent potential on the mound, running his fastball up to 89 and an advanced three pitch mix. He also banged a double off the top of the right centerfield wall during game play.

Nick Hill  SS - 2021 - Lakewood, CA

Has a great frame that is still filling out, but he already shows plenty of in game production. He lifted a towering home run over the left centerfield wall during his Saturday game. He picks it on the dirt well too and has mid-80s velocity on the mound.

Continues to develop, and looked great on both sides of the ball. He has big actions and a strong arm at shortstop and it goes perfectly with his loose swing and middle of the line up potential.

Missouri

Ran a 6.88 and popped 1.87 during drills, showing top of the scale athleticism for the catching position. The bat also showed promise as he showed good bat speed during batting practice and a very good approach during games.

Oregon State

Weber is a power/power player with a strong 6-0/205 build. The Oregon native has one of the strongest catching arms in the country and a powerful right handed swing that is going to lose some balls at the next level.

Treylen "TJ" White  OF - 2021 - Moore, SC
Indiana

White has stood out for his raw strength and power hitting consistently for the past year and it was no different at this event. The switch-hitter is especially strong from the left side.

Showed a pretty big ceiling based on his excellent frame, length through the zone, and upside in his strong left-handed swing. There is good hit/power potential.

Estrella can pick it at shortstop and his 91 mph arm strength is plenty to make all necessary throws. The 92 mph exit velocity also gets one excited about the long term potential at the plate.

Was simply one of the most impressive hitters to perform in Fort Myers. He hit a few opposite field homers during batting practice at spacious Terry Park. Then he found multiple barrels in live games. He has a huge run producing profile.

Has a sweet left-handed stroke as he got on plane early and showed huge length in the zone. Given his frame, effortless bat speed, and being young for the grade, he could not have shown better.

Is extremely polished behind the plate. He receives and blocks well during games and has shown top-end catch and throw skills. There is pop in the right-handed bat as well.

Gnibus is an unsigned senior with definite D1 tools and skills. The southpaw worked in the 84-88 mph range with outstanding late dive and run on his fastball and also threw a slider and change up.

Jackson is an unsigned senior with a high ceiling with the bat. He's a strong 6-0/195 and the ball jumps off his barrel hard; his triple on Sunday was one of the best hit balls of the weekend. He also runs a 6.89 sixty.

Produced big during batting practice as he drove balls all over the yard. He is athletic prospect that should be a very good defender in the outfield. The bat is the calling card though.

Is fun to watch as he checks a ton of boxes. He can pick it at short stop, with good body control and soft hands to go along with a very quick release. He has a line drive and gap to gap approach offensively, with plenty of room to fill out as he matures.

Southern California

Vazquez Torres will be taking his talents to Southern California for his college career and will bring with him tools on both sides of the ball, including some power as a switch-hitter, especially from the left side.

Showed easy bat speed and lots of jump off the barrel. He has a classic look for the hot corner and the defensive prowess to man the position.

Ortiz's defensive ability and his physical tools, which include 6.42 speed and a 92 mph infield arm, will keep him on the field for a long time. How much stronger he can get with the bat will determine his ceiling.

Owen is a high level defensive catcher with advanced skills and a strong 6-3/210 build. He'll be taking his game to Auburn and the SEC next year.

Continues to make huge developmental strides. His body looked great and he is moving better, with excellent arm speed. He has a lively 91 mph fast ball and showed confidence and intent with a hard upper-70s slider.

Gabriel Watson  RHP - 2022 - Hewitt, TX

Has deception on the mound and a heavy, high spin rate fastball that peaked at 90 mph. His SL/CU combination both peaked at 80 mph with the slider showing late both when he gets it out front. He also has a quick bat producing a 91 mph exit velocity and ran a 6.88.

Hiatt is an interesting two-way prospect for the 2022 class. The son of former big leaguer Phil Hiatt, the younger Hiatt was up to 88 on the mound and used the strength and leverage from his 6-5/215 body well to generate bat speed and power.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Reyes is only 15 years old and a slender 6-1/155 but the young Dominican has an electric arm. He topped out at 92 mph on his fastball, with more to come, and impressed with his ability to land a mid to upper 70's breaking ball consistently in the zone.

Darwinn Lara  SS - Free Agents - Bani, SD DOM

Lara is a young Dominican with outstanding defensive actions and tools at shortstop that international scouts already appreciate. He looks like he'll be strong enough to make an offensive impact as well.
