2012 Top Prospects

Chris Iriart  1B - 2012 - Chino Hills, CA
University of Houston/Orange Coast College

Iriart has lots of solid tools to go with very good strength at 6-2/200. The ball jumps off his bat hard and he has a 90 mph arm from right field along with good agility at first base. Iriart also threw 85 mph off the mound with a biting curveball and could be a 2-way player at the next level.

Robert Schauer  RHP - 2012 - Modesto, CA
Uncommitted

Schauer showed two nice pitches in a consistent 86 mph fastball and a 72 mph curveball that showed hard spin and bite at times. He's a loose athlete with projection and he should continue to get better.

Andy Morris  3B - 2012 - Oakdale, CA
Uncommitted

Morris is a very athletic and versatile player who does everything well on the field except run in a straight line. He plays all over the field defensively, including throw 85 mph off the mound, and has next level bat speed. He also impressed with his high energy approach to the game.

Zachary Raczok  C - 2012 - Claremont, CA
St. Martin’s

Raczok lacks ideal arm strength behind the plate but everything else he does defensively plays very well at the college level. He's quick and consistent with his fundamentals and shows a high energy approach and plus leadership skills for the position.

Matt Loscavio  OF - 2012 - Tracy, CA
Uncommitted

Loscavio has a Evan Longoria type hitting approach, which is a bit unconventional and difficult for a young player, but he pulls it off well with his quick hands and solid bat speed.

2013 Top Prospects

Andre Gregory  SS - 2013 - Sacramento, CA
Sacramento State

The 6-2/175 Gregory simply has outstanding national level defensive tools. He's balanced and athletic with soft hands and his arm strength at shortstop ranks with the best in the country. Gregory's bat isn't as far along as his defense but he has strong, quick hands and the ability to drive the ball.

Ryan Kirby  OF - 2013 - Livermore, CA
San Diego

Kirby has that smooth and quick swing that is proto-typical of top left handed hitting prospects. He has developing power right now and will add plenty to that as he fills out his 6-2/170 frame.

Dempsey Grover  C - 2013 - Modesto, CA
UC Santa Barbara

Grover has a broad back and plus present strength, which enables him to hit the ball hard from a quick, simple and mechanically sound hitting approach. His defensive skills are similar, fundamentally sound, compact and quick and he plays the game hard.

Eriksen Dickens  1B - 2013 - Oakdale, CA
Cal State Stanislaus

The 6-3/205 Dickens has one tool but that is a very good tool, his bat. He's a very aggressive right handed hitter who has both power and barrel skills.

Justin Bruce  RHP - 2013 - San Jose, CA
Santa Barbara City College

Bruce does everything well on the field. He was the event's fastest player at 7.01 on a very slow track, graded out well in the outfield defensively, hit the ball hard with a short, quick swing and threw up to 83 mph off the mound.

Michael Strem  SS - 2013 - Burlingame, CA
Boston College

Strem showed very well on the mound, pitching at 85 mph with good feel for his breaking ball and plus pitchability, but we suspect we didn't see the best he could show with his bat, as he has strength and solid raw bat speed.

2014 Top Prospects

Matthew Huss  RHP - 2014 - Ione, CA
San Joaquin Delta College

Huss is a nice projectable athlete with a loose, quick arm. He topped out at 82 mph and threw both a curveball and slider with some quality. His swing fundamentals are good and he could become a hitting prospect as he gets stronger, too.

Dominic Bethancourt  3B - 2014 - El Dorado Hills, CA
Uncommitted

Bethancourt topped out at 83 mph but he has a fast arm and is going to throw harder as he adds to his young 5-10/160 build.
