2020 Top Prospects

Brandon West  1B - 2020 - Kissimmee, FL
Jackson State/Hinds CC

West is an extremely strong young man whose future on the baseball field depends on how he refines his left handed swing. He can hurt the ball and hit it a long way when he squares it up and will just need to do that with more consistency.

Donovan Teel  OF - 2020 - Bowie, MD
South Carolina Aiken

Teel is a live bodied athlete who ran a 6.80 sixty and played with energy. He has left handed bat speed with more to come if he can unlock his quick twitch lower half to help drive his barrel.

2021 Top Prospects

Cyle Phelan  LHP - 2021 - Fuquay Varina, NC
UNC-Wilmington

Phelan is an extra strong 6-2/205 two-way prospect with a commitment to UNC-Wilmington. He was up to 90 mph with sound mechanics and a nice slider on the mound and used his strength very well to generate left handed bat speed and big power at the plate.

Walker Pedante  RHP - 2021 - Glen Allen, VA
Christopher Newport University

Pedante has a young 6-2/160 build and a loose and whippy arm action from a low 3/4's arm slot. His delivery is very well synced up and he filled up the zone with 83-87 mph fastballs that had outstanding run and sink at times.

Matthew Sicoli  OF - 2021 - Washington, DC
Emory

Sicoli has a very projectable 6-3/185 build and good present tools, especially as a right handed hitter. He's very well timed and showed power to the left centerfield gap with plenty of carry off the barrel.

Ryan Peterson  C - 2021 - Virginia Beach, VA
VMI

Peterson has plenty of present strength at 6-0/195 and a strong left handed swing with bat speed and the ability to make the ball jump, especially to the right centerfield alley. He's also a 4.0 student off the field.

Aidan Cooper  RHP - 2021 - Raleigh, NC
The Citadel

Cooper looks the part of the projectable young pitcher with a loose 6-5/185 build and showed some skills to go with his tools on the mound. He worked up to 85 mph on the mound with nice feel and command for his curveball while striking out 7 hitters in 3 innings.

Wyatt Collins  C - 2021 - Lenoir City, TN
Chattanooga State Technical CC

Collins is a very good natural athlete who has the tools to play catcher at the next level and be an offensive contributor. He'll keep getting better as he gets fundamental repetitions and channels his energy into executing them.

Lucas DeStefano  SS - 2021 - Atco, NJ
Thomas Jefferson University

DeStefano is a very sound fundamental player who has the tools and actions to be a solid second baseman at the next level. He's a right handed hitter with strong calm hands and the ability to square the ball up consistently. The New Jersey native is also an outstanding student.

Zackery Middleton  RHP - 2021 - King, NC
Uncommitted

MIddleton doesn't stand out in any one tool area but it's obvious that he plays lots of baseball and takes the game seriously. He has sound fundamentals across the board offensively and defensively and plenty of enough athleticism to play at the next level with the same approach to the game.

Dwayne Preston II  OF - 2021 - Fort Washington, MD
Uncommitted

Preston is a tooled up young athlete who will keep getting better as he plays more and especially loosens up his swing. He ran a 6.65 sixty with centerfield tools on defense and really got the ball to jump well when he squared it up.

2022 Top Prospects

Xavier Isaac  1B - 2022 - Kernersville, NC
Florida

Isaac entered the showcase as the 43rd ranked player in the 2022 class after a huge summer at PG tournaments and lived up to his reputation by showing top of the charts left handed power. The 6-3/230 athlete has a very smooth swing and his power comes effortlessly without any hint of trying to turn the barrel and lift the ball.

Andrew Burns  3B - 2022 - Lynchburg, VA
Liberty University

Burns was one of the strongest players at the showcase despite only being a sophomore. The 6-1/195 right handed hitter, the 121st ranked player in the 2022 class and a Liberty commit, has a short swing but big power and bat speed.

Josh Foulks  1B - 2022 - Oak Ridge, NC
Campbell

Foulks is a very interesting young athlete with a 6-5/190 build but 6.80 speed and lots of different athletic actions that point to his being able to play other positions than first base. He has present right handed bat speed and squared the ball up well, with lots of projectable power as he makes some adjustments in his swing approach and gets stronger..

Leighton Finley  SS - 2022 - Richmond Hill, GA
Georgia

Finley is a primary shortstop with a long 6-4/190 build and 6.95 speed in he sixty to go with some present right handed bat speed. He might have a higher ceiling on the mound, where he worked up to 86 mph with big downhill angle to the bottom of the zone.

Kai Cunningham  SS - 2022 - Atlanta, GA
Santa Clara

Cunningham is a smooth fielding middle infielder with pure shortstop tools and skills. He was very relaxed with easy actions making the routine play and has the athleticism to make the more difficult play.

Jerry Garcia  RHP - 2022 - Statesville, NC
Tennessee

Garcia has a very projectable loose 6-4/170 build and a nice three-pitch mix on the mound. He topped out at 86 mph on his fastball with occasional late boring life, threw a very nice change up with the same type of life and mixed in an occasional sharp slider.

Grayson Myrick  3B - 2022 - Greenville, NC
Barton

Myrick showed interesting tools and skills on both sides of the ball. He really swung the bat well, showing power in both batting practice and the games and was up to 80 mph with a sharp breaking ball and a very advanced pitchability level for his age.

Brady Turner  LHP - 2022 - High Point, NC
Wingate

Turner has a compact and strong athletic build and a quick left arm. He was up to 84 mph with his fastball but his best pitch was a low-70's curveball from a high 3/4's slot that had sharp bite and depth and was thrown for consistent strikes.

2023 Top Prospects

Macon Winslow  C - 2023 - Hertford, NC
Duke

Winslow is a young projectable with outstanding tools and skills for his age. He threw 78 mph with a 1.84 pop time in drills, showing an explosive lower half coming out of his low set. Offensively, the early Duke commit has present bat speed with lots of pull power.

Ethan Thomas  C - 2023 - Currituck, NC
Uncommitted

Thomas is a talented young athlete with lots of positional versatility and a strong left handed bat to go with lots of energy on the field. He played all over the field and showed tools, making it hard to say what might be his best future position.

CJ Powell  C - 2023 - Mebane, NC
Wabash Valley College

A barrel chested strong 5-10/185 athlete, Powell has a very aggressive high energy approach to the game and especially doesn't get cheated at the plate. He blasted a no doubt home run Saturday made even more impressive by the field's pro dimensions and the fact the temperature was hovering around 40 degrees at the time.
