2020 Top Prospects

Ryan Sonnier  OF - 2020 - Lawrenceville, GA
Florida A&M

Proved to be one of the top all around ball players in the event with athleticism and an advanced feel for the outfield. He flashed his speed running a 6.73 second sixty yard dash in somewhat sloppy conditions. He also showed a very strong arm throwing it 90 MPH from the outfield with throws on the money. To add to his stellar performance throughout the weekend, he went on to showcase some real bat speed with an exit velo of 88 MPH.

Jaylen Paden  RHP - 2020 - Lilburn, GA
Georgia Southern

Proved to be one of the top pitchers from the event this weekend. He showed a very heavy fastball that was bumping 91 MPH on the gun with a wicked nasty changeup that he showed advanced feel for. The righty went on to get plenty of swings and misses with some knee buckles as well. He missed plenty of barrels with all three of his pitches and had a mature feel for the strike zone. His athleticism showed as well as he ran a 7.07 second sixty yard dash.

Corbin Shaw  3B - 2020 - Stone Mountain, GA
Walters State CC

Shaw was by far one of the most impressive prospects from the weekend. He had the highest exit velo of 98 MPH off the tee with contact that sounded like a sonic boom. His size and pure strength were on display even tho his weekend was cut short by a tender hamstring. He showed range and mature footwork in the infield as he threw it 90 MPH across the diamond. This utility ball player will find a home on the diamond anywhere as his bat is must see stuff.

Jonathan Ponder  OF - 2020 - Lawrenceville, GA
Georgia State

The recent Georgia State commit went on to show some of the best speed of the event as he ran a 6.57 second sixty yard dash. He showed great instincts in the outfield as well tracking baseballs down making it look easy. He also showed a strong bat this weekend getting extended on upper-80's fastballs while showing a 85 MPH exit velo.

Nate Shipley  OF - 2020 - Marietta, GA

Shipley impressed very well this weekend as he showed he could get it done on both sides of the ball at an elite level. His bat was the most impressive as he drove the baseball for power to the gaps while understanding to cut his swing down and put it in play when behind in counts. With his bat showing well in games, he also racked up a 92 MPH exit velo off the tee proving his strength by numbers. He went on to run a 7.06 second sixty yard dash as well.

Wesley Hancock  LHP - 2020 - Griffin, GA
Oklahoma State

The lefthanded pitcher showed a very mature mound presence as he dealed with a nice three pitch mix. He ran his fastball up to 88 MPH with a sweeping slider and changeup with advanced feel keeping hitters off balance. Hancock also showed more in the tank and will continue to run it up as he progresses physically. His strength carried over from the mound to the plate as he showed a 89 MPH exit velo while he went on to square up balls in both BP and in the games.

Nick Brown  RHP - 2020 - Madison, AL

Showcased one of the faster arms in this weekend's action. The 6' 2" righthanded pitcher filled up the strike zone as he worked all four quadrants. His fastball showed very heavy actions as it topped out at 90 MPH. He relied heavily on the fastball as he painted corners with hit. He also showed he could swing the bat a bit with an exit velo of 95 MPH which ranked among the top this week. He also one upped his fastball on the mound from the outfield with him throwing it 91 MPH into the infield.

Kyle Hilton  C - 2020 - Savannah, GA
Georgia State

Showed a mature skill set behind the plate as he went on to record at 2.02 pop time with throws on target consistently. He flashed soft hands spotting up some upper-80's to low-90's with ease. He also carried that arm strength to the mound as he topped out at 86 MPH while he went on to fill up the zone going after hitters.

Ian Kennedy  1B - 2020 - Douglasville, GA
Michigan

Utilized a monster frame at 6' 3" 225+ lbs. with physical strength being mature beyond years. He dropped a few bombs in Batting Practice that would of turned heads in a big league park. His bat was the talk of the day as he flashed an exit velo of 88 MPH off the tee. Kennedy also showed his athleticism running a 7.09 second sixty yard dash in slower conditions.

Joseph Eichelberger  RHP - 2020 - McDonough, GA

Showed a very strong frame utilizing it to its full potential in the batter's box. He made loud contact all weekend while going on to show an exit velo of 91 MPH off the tee. With bat speed present, he squared up baseball consistently while showing to be patient in the box. He also proved he had some speed to go with it as he ran a 7.06 second sixty yard dash. With his tools, he projects very well as a power hitting corner IF/OF guy.

Landon Lewis  RHP - 2020 - Chattanooga, TN

Flashed a very projectable frame at 6' 6" and plenty of room to fill out. He did a good job of working both sides of the plate with a fastball that was up to 87 MPH. He also mixed in a nasty slider that showed late bite with depth. He showed plenty more in tank as well and with his frame, the sky is the limit.

Jerry Burkett II  LHP - 2020 - Hattiesburg, MS

Burkett went on to showcase one of the strongest arms in an event loaded with talent. He threw it 91 MPH from the outfield with throws one hoping on the money. He also carried that arm strength to the mound as he should an easy, fluid motion topping out at 84 MPH. His athleticism flashed signs of next level stuff as well as he went on to run a 7.01 second sixty yard dash in slow conditions.

Trace Cate  OF - 2020 - Marietta, GA

Showcased an athletic build with some room to fill out in the future with a good feel for both the infield and the outfield. He showed some range in the infield with a clean glove to go with it. His arm strength was present as he threw it 84 MPH from the infield while being accurate from all angles. His outfield showing was just as strong as he took clean routes to the baseball while carrying his weight through it. He was clocked at 85 MPH from the outfield with throws on the bag.

Dakota Copeland  RHP - 2020 - Jackson, GA
Belmont

Flashed signs of being a well rounded ball player as he proved he could shove it from the mound and swing it at the plate. He topped out at 86 MPH on the mound with the heater showing downhill plane and arm side run as he missed barrels throughout his outing. He also created some leverage at the plate making loud contact while showing an exit velo of 84 MPH off the tee.

Christian Davis  OF - 2020 - Conyers, GA
Southern

The recent Southern commit showcased an excellent make up as he was well rounded in all aspects of the game. His bat came out in a big way as he drove the baseball for power in the action. His arm showed to be next level as well as he went on to fill it up from the left side on the mound topping out at 84 MPH with a nasty slider to keep hitters guessing. He also hurled it 86 MPH from the outfield.

Cole English  RHP - 2020 - Locust Grove, GA
East Tenn State

The righthanded pitcher showcased a very fluid arm action with an easy release. He topped out at 88 MPH from the mound but showed good feel for a slider to compliment the heater. English showed a true three-quarter arm slot that proved to be tricky for hitters to pick up early. His lower half did all the work as he showed he could maintain his upper-80's velo for multiple innings.

Max Luke  1B - 2020 - Suwanee, GA

Showed a physical frame while proving to be versatile on both sides of the ball. On the mound, he flashed a mid-80's fastball topping out at 85 with an advanced feel for a changeup keeping hitters off balance. He also proved he could swing it as well making loud contact during the action and showing an exit velo of 89 MPH off the bat.

Aiden McSherry  RHP - 2020 - Roswell, GA

With a very long, lean frame coming in at 6' 5", Mcsherry flashed a strong arm with more to come in the future. He topped out with the heater at 89 MPH that showed some late cut run to it as he missed barrels. The big righthanded pitcher mixed in a changeup as well to keep hitters off balance. With his frame, he shows big potential to become a big arm if he cleans up some command issues.


2021 Top Prospects

Kruise Newman  RHP - 2021 - Richmond, KY
Tennessee

Proved to be the top arm of the event as he showed a very advanced feel on the mound for all of his pitches. He ran his fastball up to 90 MPH with a nasty two seamer in the mid-80's as well. Not only did he prove himself as the top arm but he flashed elite level stuff in the field and at the plate as well. He threw it 94 MPH from the outfield with long carry to throws. His bat also showed well as he racked up an exit velo of 88 MPH.

Chase Allsup  RHP - 2021 - Dothan, AL
Auburn

Established himself as an elite ball player even with other elite type players around him. His presence on the mound may have been the most dominating as he ran his fastball up to 92 MPH blowing hitters away. Allsup also showed as a switch hitter who banged the baseball around making loud contact from both sides of the dish. With his make up, he will be a very interesting following going forward as he has all the tools already in place.

Travis Smith  RHP - 2021 - Walton, KY
Kentucky

Smith showcased himself as one of the top pitchers in the event as he showed a great feel for a two pitch mix. His fastball showed to be lights out as it topped out at 91 MPH and he lost little to no velo throughout his outing. With his 6' 4" frame, he projects to be a big arm upcoming in the near future.

Christian Smith  OF - 2021 - Atlanta, GA
Vanderbilt

The Vanderbilt commit was one of the younger prospects in the event who proved himself viable against older competition. He ran a blazing 6.69 second sixty yard dash in sloppy conditions. His speed was put to test as he tracked down fly balls all weekend. His bat showed to be strong as well as he consistently found the barrel driving it to all fields. His exit velo was up to 82 MPH off the tee.

Brandon Hudson  RHP - 2021 - Waxhaw, NC
North Carolina State

Hudson proved himself to be one of the elite players of the event as he showed well in everything he did. He flashed a very strong arm while topping out at 90 MPH on the mound. He had a tough arm angle with a nasty slider to keep hitters guessing. His arm showed well in the outfield as well as he threw it 91 MPH from the outfield. His bat flashed signs of power as well with an exit velo of 87 MPH.

Boyd Ogles  C - 2021 - Ashland, AL

Proved to be one of the more well rounded catchers from this weekend. He went on to show a soft glove stealing strikes on the corners. He also showed a fast pop time of 2.01 seconds with a very quick transfer while gaining ground out front. Ogles went on to step on the mound as well as he topped out at 86 MPH with the fastball showing a good feel for the lower half of the zone.

Brayden Sanders  RHP - 2021 - Olive Branch, MS
Mississippi

Sanders was another prospect who proved he could get it done in all facets of the game. He missed barrels and didn't give up any loud contact on the mound as he topped out at 90 MPH with a nice hook to compliment the heater. He also proved he was able in the outfield with a good first step reaction before heaving it 89 MPH into the infield. His strength carried over as well to the box as he flashed a 88 MPH exit velo off the tee.

Matthew Omohundro  3B - 2021 - Dothan, AL

Omohundro proved to be another well balanced ball player being dominate in all aspects of the game. He showed big time pop at the plate going yard with ease in batting practice while he showed a 85 MPH exit velo. He also went on to heaving across the diamond at 86 MPH with rangy, smooth actions and accurate from all angles. With a strong showing on both sides of the ball, he also added another check by his name as he ran his fastball up to 85 MPH and pounded the zone.

Barbecue Yee  RHP - 2021 - Falmouth, ME

Made the long trip down from Maine to show what he could do against the top prospects from the Southeast and did not disappoint. He showed well on the mound as he ran his fastball up to 87 MPH with a nasty slider to keep hitters off balance. He also showed that strength in the batters box as he had an exit velo of 86 MPH from both the left and right side. He one upped himself again as he showed a pop time of 2.05 seconds.

Breon Horne  OF - 2021 - College Park, GA

Horne showed himself as one of the premier outfielders as his speed stood out in a big way. He ran a 6.67 second sixty yard dash with great reads to compliment that speed in the outfield. His size and strength show very well for the next level. His bat was no slouch either as squared up baseball's all weekend showing a 87 MPH exit velo off the tee.

Carson Howard  RHP - 2021 - Pike Road, AL

Howard flashed a good solid mound presence in the games as he pounded the outer half of the plate with his fastball topping out at 87 MPH with heaviness to it. His arm action was fluid and easy while he showed more in the tank down the road. He started his outing with three weak groundballs to second base. He also proved that he had a solid feel for the infield as he made some nice rangy place firing the baseball across the diamond at 89 MPH.

Logan McGuire  RHP - 2021 - Acworth, GA

Flashed one of the faster arms in the event with plenty of room to fill out down the road which catches big attention. His fastball showed heaviness with advanced arm side run topping out at 90 MPH. His changeup was a big time swing and miss pitch especially to lefties as he started it on the front hip and ran it back over the lower half of the dish. With his make up, he will be someone to keep a very close eye on.


2022 Top Prospects

Bogan Simmons  C - 2022 - Fayetteville, GA

Simmons impressed in a big way this weekend kicking it off mashing baseballs in batting practice and then carrying it over to the games. His exit velo proved it from a statistics stand point as he recorded a 86 MPH exit velo. His catching stood out the most as he received the baseball well showing soft hands and a strong arm throwing down. He threw a 1.98 pop down the second base with a clean transfer. He also stepped up on the mound and was up to 88 MPH with the fastball pounding the lower half of the zone with it.

Grant Aycock  RHP - 2022 - Greensboro, NC

Showcased a strong all around performance this weekend with a strong defensive showing. Aycock flashed great instincts in the outfield with clean actions throwing it 85 MPH. He also flashed some leather in the infield making some rangy plays and showing off a strong arm at 85 MPH across the diamond with carry. He then jumped up on the hill and filled up the strike zone with a fastball that topped out at 85 MPH and a knuckleball to mix up speeds.

Jaden Anderson  OF - 2022 - Duluth, GA

Anderson is another addition to the list of players who proved they could be a step above the rest in all aspects of the game. He showed some arm strength with good feel on the mound topping out at 82 MPH with a good feel for the zone as he missed out on loud contact. He also carried that strength and athleticism as he went on to run a 6.88 second sixty yard dash. He did not take any steps backwards in the box as he took some strong hacks squaring the baseball up. Anderson went on to record an exit velo of 91 MPH off the tee.
