Maroon vs. Blue Game Highlights

7/30/2017

Joshua Blount (2021 LHP, De Pere, WI): Blount was one of the few players to pick up two hits on the day, showing very good barrel control with loose hands, able to hit the ball to all parts of the ballpark with good bat speed.

Marcus Wright (2019 SS, Chicago, IL): Wright was extremely impressive all weekend, showing loud tools at every juncture. He hit in an inside the park HR on a deep gap shot, showing off both his power and his speed, and later hit a liner to the opposite field that was caught. He looks to be a high level prospect.

Noah Berndt (2021 C, Larsen, WI): Berndt showed advanced hitting tools especially for a rising 9th grader. He shows quality bat speed with the ability to backspin the ball into gaps, as he did on a loud double. He collected two hits overall.

Eli List (2020 LHP, Chicago, IL): List went 2-2 on the day, showing good ability to stay on the baseball and work to all fields. He's got a nice, quick line drive swing plane that projects well in terms of a hit tool.

Orange vs. Steel Game Highlights

7/30/2017

Benjamin Pedersen (2019 RHP, Duluth, MN): Pedersen was outstanding in his three innings, striking out six and allowing only two hits. He worked up to 88 mph with his fastball and got lots of swings and misses with it; also mixing in a sharp slider and quality changeup.

Logan Wynalda (2018 RHP, Hudsonville, MI): Wynalda showed power stuff in his three innings, allowing no base runners while striking out a pair. He worked up to 85 mph with heavy life and mixed in both a curveball and a changeup that he threw for strikes.

Tyler Willman (2018 1B, Sterling, IL): Willman continued to impress on Sunday, barreling up a couple balls, one for a double and one for a loud lineout. He's very physically strong and that shows in his hitting. He also got on the mound for an inning and pounded strikes, working up to 86 mph with his fastball and showing a sharp slider as well.

Charles Wood (2018 RHP, Berwyn, IL): Wood may be listed as a primary pitcher; but he has really stood out with the bat in his hands across both days of the event. He picked up a pair of hits on Sunday including a 94 mph exit velocity base hit, showing lots of consistent bat speed and smoothness to his hands.

Freddie March (2018 C, Itasca, IL): March stood out on Saturday in the catcher workouts and then had a very nice day offensively on Sunday. He picked up a pair of hits and showed a loose, easy line drive swing; working to all fields and covering the plate well.

Tyler Hallenbeck (2019 LHP, Grandville, MI): Hallenbeck consistently showed a loose, easy arm action that generated big angle to the plate, working up to 82 mph from the left side with lots of arm side life. He demonstrated the ability to consistently get ground balls while mixing in a good slider as well.

Simen Restad (2018 RHP, Prior Lake, MN): Restad struck out 6 across his 3 innings, showing a firm fastball up to 87 mph with heavy life. He worked to both sides of the plate with the pitch and mixed in a good curveball with depth as well as intriguing feel for his changeup.
