8-Orange vs. 10-White Game Highlights

8/7/2022

Austin Reed (2025, C, Sugar Land, TX) ripped a 2-run single back up the middle in the bottom of the first to give his team the early lead. He keeps the barrel plane flat through the zone for a while allowing him to make hard contact and barrel the ball. He roped a ball down the left field line later on for a rbi double. On the mound, Reed sat 77-80 and showed a nice feel for a curve that had good spin and shape. He was able to drop the curve in for strikes consistently but also got swings and misses outside the zone on it. He finished the day with 2 strikeouts through 2 innings of work. He did not allow a hit or walk. He also made a diving catch in center on a sinking line drive. Just an impressive athlete overall.

Cason Pool (2024, SS, Jasper, TX) lined a base hit up the middle and then proceeded to steal second. He has good speed and reads the pitcher well getting good jumps. He is definitely athletic enough to be projectable. Also made some really nice plays at short. His footwork is smooth and he makes strong throws on time.

Cullen Krebs (2023, OF, Humble, TX) barreled a ball that came right into his sweet spot and swing. He has that smooth lefty swing that loves the ball down and in and will smoke anything in that happy zone. The ball jumps off his barrel with backspin. Got another base hit in his second ab.

Conner Hicok. (2023, 3B, Cypress, TX) was efficient in his outing throwing 64% strikes. He mainly sat 74-78 with his fastball. He struck out the side in his first inning of work as well. He mixed a good fastball with subtle run as well as a curve. He got into a good rhythm on the mound and began locating his pitches well forcing weak contact and missing barrels. His curve had heavy looping shape and got swings and misses. He ended the day with 4ks in 2 innings.

Stephen Kaiser (2023, SS, El Paso, TX) came out pumping heaters forcing a ton of weak contact and missing barrels. He sat in the low 80s and got up to 86. The fastball came out of his hand smoothly as the arm was loose. He also flashed a curve with good shape and spin. He ended up striking out 4 batters in 2 innings of work. Kaiser also played well in the field. He fields the ball smoothly out at short and utilizes nice footwork with his strong arm. He makes throws with plenty of time to spare.

Ryland Rangel (2024, SS, San Antonio, TX) had a multi-hit game including a double that he crushed into the left-center field gap. He showed ability to really turn on the ball and drive it with authority to the gap. He impressed on the mound too flashing a 3-pitch mix. His fastball sat in the low 80s with late life. It crept up on hitters faster than expected getting late swings and misses. He mixed in a curve and slider as well both with late break and good spin. His off-speed stuff got plenty of chases outside the zone. He really located his fastball well within the zone. He ended the day with 3ks through 2 innings of work.

Caleb Mize (2024, 1B, Houston, TX) really looked the part at first base digging out multiple balls in the dirt. His glovework was really impressive as he fielded short hoppers cleanly. He also collected 2 hits showing power to all fields.

4-Columbia Blue vs. 6-Green Game Highlights

8/7/2022

Payton Wooley (2023, League City, Texas) lead the game off with a rope to left field. Cleared the left fielder’s head for a double in the fifth. Had some quality moments on the mound as well. Fastball was up to 81 and mixed in a high spin slider with movement along both planes.

Blaine Smith (2025, Burleson, Texas) pulled one down the left field line for a first inning triple. Showed a quick first step out of the box. Rounded bases well with efficient paths from bag to bag.

Patrick Lewis (2024, Manvel, Texas) showed off the wheels with an infield single in the third inning. Went on the steal two bases and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Added a missile into the left center field gap, a well struck double for his second knock of the day.

Logan Corley (2026, Lucas, Texas) had an incredibly efficient inning of work. Struck out two, on an 83% strikes clip from the left side. Fastball sat 78-82 with some run. Curveball was 68-82 with 1/7 shape, sometimes tilting into more 2/8.

In the fifth, Immanuel Gaines (2025, Pearland, Texas) added a base knock up the middle. Had good use of his lower half, using every bit of his frame to muscle one into center field.

Brady Brewer (2026, Pearland, Texas) showed some opposite field pop on a base hit to right in the seventh inning. Went two innings on the bump as well, striking out two. Fastball worked 79-81, along with an upper 60s curveball. Worked efficiently out of high ¾ slot.

In the seventh, Bryce Livermore (2024, Magnolia, Texas) got his side on the board with an RBI double down that he got around on and pulled down the left field line. Showed solid base running IQ on a tag up later in the inning.

3 - Black vs. 5 - Gold Game Highlights

8/7/2022

Nolan Roycraft (2024, Spring, Texas) looked nice on the mound. Punched out five over his three innings of work from the left side. Fastball sat in the low 80s, touching 85. Low 70s curve with tight rotation. Showed some loose arm action and was not afraid to mix sequences.

After a solid showing at the plate yesterday, Dylan Blomker (2026, Albuquerque, New Mexico) showed some flashes on the mound. Struck out a couple of batters in his two innings of work. Fastball was up to 84, settling in the lower 80s. Solid curve to pair with, sitting 70-71. Added a few hard-hit balls at the plate, including a base hit to left in the sixth. He’s been one of the better performers in this showcase.

Cameron Anderson (2023, San Antonio, Texas) came in and threw two solid innings, punching out three of the seven he faced. Sat in the lower 80s, up to 85 on his fastball. Very strong curveball in the lower 70s, as well. Showed the ability to spot both pitches consistently.

Sennon Lawrence (2026, Greenwood Village, Colorado) found a way in the fourth, reaching on a single to center field.

Brian Grant Jr. (2026, Katy, Texas) pieced up a decent fastball and dropped it over the center fielder’s head for a double in the fifth.

In the sixth, Tanner Fallwell (2024, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) jumped on the first pitch he saw and lined a base hit into left field.

7-Navy vs. 9-Royal Game Highlights

8/7/2022

Kai Langford (2023, C, Houston, TX) came out firing a fastball that sat in the low 80s and touched 85. He struck out the side in the first inning of play. He also flashed a change with good fade as well as a curve with sharp break. Langford finished the day with 3 strikeouts.

Damian Montanez (2025, OF, Killeen, TX) ripped a 2-rbi base hit to left in the first inning. He showed off his wheels when he proceeded to take the extra base rounding first hard and sliding into second. He showed off a quick bat with quick twitchy hands in the box. Beat out an infield single in his second at bat. In his third at bat he ripped a base hit the other way. He is a very toolsy player with a lot to like. He finished 3-3 on the day while driving in 4 runs. He also struck out 3 batters in 2 innings of work. He was able to ramp his fastball up to 82.

Reece Pierre (2023, C, Pride, LA) turned on a ball to deep left hitting it off the wall just barely missing a homerun. He has a powerful swing and exemplified good pull side power. He gets tremendous launch on the ball when he gets a hold of one.

Alex Taylor (2026, C, Nelson, NE) played well behind the plate keeping the ball in front of him. He moves well behind the plate and is quite athletic for the position. Has good size behind the plate as well and is a big target for the pitcher.

Brody Smith (2025, OF, Houston, TX) played centerfield and was defensively sound out there. He made good reads and got really good jumps with a ton of range. He was able to track down a fly ball hit in the gap ranging to his right.

Dominik Gendreau (2023, SS, Superior, CO) had a multi-hit game consistently finding the barrel.

Silas Gordon (2024, OF, Arlington, TX) also had a multi-hit game with a middle of the field approach at the plate. He drove the ball right back up the middle for mutiple base hits.

James Kennedy (2023, 2B, Montgomery, TX) showed the ability to really drive the ball the other way. Has some gap to gap power and a nice swing to go with it.

Jackson Lowry (2025, 3B, League City, TX) went 2 innings and struck out 3 batters. He only gave up 1 hit during his appearance. He forced weak contact and missed barrels consistently. Pitchabiliity is definitely there for this guy as he was able to locate within the zone. He mixed his pitches well which included a fastball and curveball. He was able to drop his curve in for strikes and was able to keep hitters off balance and guessing.

9-Royal vs 10-White Game Highlights

8/6/2022

Damian Montanez (2025 OF, Killeen, TX) was the star offensively as he had a pair of hits, both of which were very well struck the other way, including a single and a triple. It's an athletic swing and the handle of the barrel with the strength at impact bodes well for the upside of the profile on that end.

Leyton Weaks (2024 1B, Magnolia, TX) had a big hit early in the game action as he lifted a double up against the wall pull side. He's physical and incorporates the strength well with a quick launch to get the ball in the air and let the carry he creates work.

Zachary Slayden (2023 RHP, Tomball, TX) showed some real intrigue on the mound as an uncommitted senior right-hander as he came out working in the 87-89 range with the fastball with good command working downhill. There's good foundation on the breaking ball in terms of bite and spin which projects well and there's good size with a clean delivery checking another couple boxes in terms of projection.

Caleb Mize (2024 1B, Houston, TX) added a double of his own as he smoked a liner over the head of the left fielder. It's easy jump off the barrel off a longer stroke and he handles the approach well.

Kai Langford (2023 C, Houston, TX) took a good BP showing some real impact to the middle of the field and translated it in game action as he hit a hard liner into CF for his lone knock, one of the better struck balls of the day.

Brody Smith (2025 OF, Houston, TX) showed an impressive combination of an ability to adjust and bat speed as he got way out front on a pitch and was still able to flick the barrel well enough to line a double to the gap the other way.

Hayden Arbour (2023 1B, Humble, TX) showed his physicality and strength in the swing as he hit a ball on his hands over the head of the RF for a double that nearly got out the other way.

Cullen Krebs (2023 OF, Humble, TX) capped off the game with one of the better hit balls as he turned the barrel over on a fastball and roped it down the line for a triple. It's a projectable body and a quick bat with some upside in terms of long term juice.

8/6/2022

Travis Berra (2024, Katy, Texas) showed some good stuff on the mound. Up to 83 on the fastball and added a 12-6 curveball as well. Also had a base hit in the first.

Vivek Bhalla (2026, RHP, Friendswood, TX) throws from an extremely low ¾ slot and gets really nice run on his fastball. He forced a ton of weak contact during his outing especially soft grounders. He also flashed a change with good spin and fade. The frame is highly projectable as he is already 5-foot-11 with long arms. The delivery is smooth and repeatable. Was able to dot fastballs on the black of the zone. His arm action gave the fastball natural run. His fastball sat in the mid-upper 70s and topped out at 78. Bhalla finished the day with 2 strikeouts but really impressed with his ability to miss barrels. Not one ball was hit hard off him.

Walker Shaw (2024, RHP, Mansfield, TX) came in and pounded the zone with high velocity fastballs sitting in the mid 80s and ramping all the way up to 89. Very athletic middle infielder made a leaping catch on a liner. Consistently finds the barrel with gap to gap pop.
