Nate Snead (2022 RHP, South Milwaukee, WI) started on the bump for the Gold Team and collected five strikeouts in two innings. The right-hander utilizes a smooth and fluid delivery with advanced arm speed, and he topped out at 92 mph in this one. His curveball was working well, showing 11-5 shape with depth and sharp action. It's easy to project on the athleticism, and Snead certainly has a high ceiling moving forward.
Cade Obermueller (2022 LHP, Iowa City, IA) was lights out for the Gold Team, as he threw a quick and efficient two innings, using less than 30 pitches in total. The delivery and the arm are loose and athletic and easy to project on, and he ran his fastball up to 91 mph today. The lefty creates a tough angle and some deception by throwing across his body from a lower three-quarters slot. To make things even harder for opposing hitters, he possesses a potential plus slider with sharp/late sweep across the zone.
Brayden Marks (2022 RHP, Elkhorn, WI) showcased an impressive four-pitch mix with advanced pitchability, as each of his offerings had substantial movement with good command. The big 6-foot-6 right hander has a clean and polished delivery with a lot to like moving forward, and he sat in the upper 80's, topping out at 89 mph. He struck out four opposing batters in his two innings of work.
Justin Hackett (2022 RHP, Winterset, IA) was utterly dominant in his start for the Black Team, as he struck out the side in his two innings pitched. He flashed two potentially plus pitches, with a fastball that sat 90-92 mph and a hammer, 12-6 shaped curveball with significant depth and downer action. His fastball showed great ride through the zone, and he collected tons of swing and miss with when he challenged high. The development of his changeup was also quite notable, making for an impressive third offering.
Tyler Deleskiewicz (2022 RHP, Genoa City, WI) is an intriguing arm with an unconventional delivery. The big 6-foot-5 right-hander slings it from a low three-quarters and creates plenty of deception/funk, making for an uncomfortable at bat. To make things even more difficult, he sat 88-90 mph and featured an impressive slider substantial sweep across the zone. He generated swing and miss with both pitches and showed the ability to locate his fastball to both halves of the plate.
Aaron Savary (2022 RHP, Dubuque, IA) has been the model of consistency during the Spring, and he continued that trend today by striking out five of the seven batters he faced, while throwing just 25 pitches to do so. The Iowa commit is as clean and polished as they come on the mound, and he ran his fastball up to 91 mph in this one. The breaking ball was excellent as well, showing 11-5 shape with good depth and two-plane movement.
Carter Gallagher (2022 SS, Waterloo, IA) battled through a couple of tough at bats to earn himself two clean singles on the day. He was the only player to get a hit off of Snead, as he led of the game with a solid two-strike base knock up the middle. He would collect another well-struck single up the middle in his last at bat of the day, this time jumping all over a 1-0 fastball. Gallagher has a smooth right-handed swing with good speed on the base paths, giving him a prototypical top-of-the-order profile.
Jake Krause (2022 OF, Grapevine, TX) also got on base twice for the Black Team, collecting two infield singles on the day. Krause showed good bat-to-ball skills and a contact oriented approach, taking full advantage of his elite speed. If he can put something on the ground and make the infielder range to either side to get it, he has a good chance to beat it out.
