6-Purple vs 7-Red Game Highlights

Hayden McDonald (2022 C, Lake Stevens, WA) squared a ball up to left field sending the outfielder back to the wall with a well struck double that one hopped off the fence. He produced some power from the ground up attacking the bottom of the baseball and producing nice back spin on the ball flight. 

 

Sean Yamaguchi (2024 3B, Aiea, HI) was able to generate plenty of swing and miss over his two innings attacking hitters with a quality fastball slider combination. The fastball showed good arm side life running up to 82 mph while the slider was horizontal through the zone in the low 70’s at its best. At the plate he found two barrels hitting two balls hard back to the middle of the field. 

 

Jian Jung (2024 RHP, Graham, WA) continued to show great feel for the barrel on day two adding another hit to his total with a double to left field. He stays very level through the hitting zone and through contact allowing him to work through the ball, hitting hard line drives to all fields. 

 

Luke Mertlich (2023 LHP, Puyallup, WA) drove in all three of the Purple runs as the plate on Sunday with a base hit and three RBI. He uses the middle of the field well driving a baseball to center field for a base hit in his second at bat. 

 

Landon Kerzman (2022 OF, Bellingham, WA) had a solid day at the plate going 2-for-3 with two well hit singles. The first one came on a ground ball through the left side and the second one a well struck ball to center field. The barrel works level through the zone with good intent proving the jump off the barrel to get the balls through and into the outfield. 

 

Cody Matson (2022 3B, Redmond, WA) followed up yesterday’s loud offensive day with another one on day two this time going 2-for-3 with a smokes single to center and double off the bat to left. The strength in his swing stands out as the ball jumps to all parts of the field with some feel for the barrel. 


8-Royal vs. 1-Gold Game Highlights

Logan Anderson (2023 LHP, Snoqualmie, WA) made the most of his three innings on the mound today, striking out six en route to a scoreless outing.  He ran the fastball up to 78 mph and showed advanced feel for his slider that came in at 70 mph.  He was effective in getting ahead in the count then spotting his slider wherever he wanted.  He has a good frame with room to add strength and velocity.

 

Finn Leach (2025 SS, Seattle, WA) was on time and all over an inside offering in his first at bat, sending a double to left field from the right side of the plate.  He would add a line drive single to right field from the left side of the plate in his second at bat.  He is a switch hitter that has a line drive approach and does a nice job of hitting it where it is pitched.  He is able to keep his hands inside the ball and get his barrel through the zone.

 

Jason Marshall (2024 RHP, Puyallup, WA) shined on the mound today, working three scoreless innings and striking out six and only allowing three hits.  He has a good frame and works in line with the plate well, allowing him to live in the zone with all of his pitches.  He ran his fastball up to 81 mph and featured late life in the zone.  His breaking ball had slurvy movement and came in at 68 mph.  His changeup had good depth, dropping off the table on hitters.

 

Tristan Buehring (2024 OF, Seattle, WA) showed good barrel control throughout the day, recording a pair of well struck singles.  He stays short to the ball and has a line drive approach.  He did a nice job of being on time and hitting the ball where it’s pitched.

 

Alex LaVassar (2024 SS, Des Moines, WA) took advantage of his opportunities at the plate today, going 2-for-3 with a double down the left field line and a base hit to right field.  He has a fluid swing that he pairs with a good feel for the barrel, allowing him to utilize the entire field.

 

Ian Draper (2025 SS, Puyallup, WA) was swinging a hot bat this weekend, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, bringing his hit total to five.  He does a nice job of controlling the barrel through the zone and utilizing his lower half.  He is consistently on time, making solid contact out in front of the plate.


4-Navy vs 5-Orange Game Highlights

8/29/2021

Ethan Gardner (2022 OF, Meridian, ID) cruised through his two innings pounding the zone with a quality two pitch mix as he landed the fastball and curveball consistently for strikes. The fastball got up to 85 mph with more to come as he continues to fill out the frame while the curveball missed plenty of barrels as a quality put away pitch. 

 

Aiden Jackson (2022 SS, Lakewood, WA) jumped a fastball in the middle of the plate driving it deep to right center field for a stand-up triple. He showed good strength in the hands staying inside the ball and drove it with true flight off the fence on a hop. He added an outfield assist from right field as well shows a strong accurate arm. 

 

Zachary Frink (2025 3B, Lake Tapps, WA) doubled down the line tucking the ball just inside the bag as he cruised into second base standing up. He showed quick hands getting the bat head out front on the fastball to square it up. He would add another to the pull side in his next at bat lining a ball into left field. 

 

Isaiah Nolan (2024 SS, Newcastle, WA) got a fastball up in the zone and did a nice job matching plane through contact to drive a ball deep over the center fielder’s head. His speed plays on the bases as he floated around the bag and into third base, he later scored on a wild pitch standing up once again showcasing his base running abilities. 

 

Joshua Macagba (2022 C, Snohomish, WA) got himself into scoring position with a double into left field corner as he ticked the ball inside the left field line. His simple load and stride allow him to be on time consistently with the barrel with a feel of how to control the bat head. 

 

Eli Blurton (2023 C, Vacaville, CA) has a very projectable right-handed swing with great barrel control staying inside the baseball. The upper and lower half stay connected in the swing with a linear bat path allowing him to drive baseball with plus hand speed as he showed with his double to right-center field. 

 

Cameron Costello (2024 OF, Olympia, WA) showed a smooth left-handed stroke with the ability to create some leverage at the point of contact. He drove a ball in the right-center field for a double to get himself into scoring position. 


2-Gray vs. 3-Maroon Game Highlights

Yechan Lee (2024 SS, Bellevue, WA) showed a quick swing in his first at bat today, staying short to the ball and sending it into the right center field gap for an easy double.  He has a line drive approach and is able to control the barrel well which leads to a lot of hard contact at the plate.  He also flashed the leather, making a nice diving play up the middle at shortstop.  

 

Luke Simpson (2023 1B, Sammamish, WA) jumped all over a first pitch fastball and sent it into left field for a double.  It was a low pitch that he showed good barrel control on to make hard contact down the line.  He does a nice job of staying on balance through his swing.  In his second at bat he was able to get the barrel down in the zone and hit a hard ground ball through the left side.

 

Richie Egger (2023 3B, Kenmore, WA) let the ball get deep and sent a line drive into the left center field gap for an easy double in his first at bat.  He has a big frame with present strength and utilizes it well throughout the swing.  He lets the ball get deep and utilizes the entire field.

 

Martyn Hernandez (2025 SS, Puyallup, WA) stayed on balance and sped around the bases for a double down the left field line in his first at bat.  He is a twitchy player that utilizes his body well throughout his swing.  He has quick hands that leads to plenty of barrel speed through the zone.  He took advantage of a good pitch to hit in his second at bat as well, lacing a single to left field.

 

Micah Yanos (2025 1B, University Place, WA) got all of a fastball that caught too much of the plate and sent it deep over the center fielder’s head for a double.  He has a simple swing and is able to make contact out in front of the plate, allowing him to use his strength to power the ball into the gaps.  He ended the day going 3-for-3 with a pair of hard singles to right field as well as the previously mentioned double.

 

Will Crain (2025 RHP, Mercer Island, WA) was able to get the barrel out in front of the plate and send an inside fastball down the left field line for an easy double today.  He does a nice job of being on time and hitting the ball where it is pitched while showing good feel for the barrel.

 

Jack Cahill (2023 C, Seattle, WA) burnt the center fielder for a double in the left center field gap today.  He startw with an even base and has natural loft in his swing which allows him to generate nice carry into the gap.  He has a pull side approach and makes the most of inner half pitches.

 

Conrad Henkel (2023 OF, Black Diamond, WA) showed good two way potential today, going 2-for-2 at the plate and striking out four in two innings pitched without allowing any runs.  He does a nice job of staying in line with the plate and showed the ability to move his fastball, which he ran up to 82 mph, around in the zone.  His curveball showed slurvy actions at time with nice depth.  He stays on balance at the plate and does a nice job getting the barrel in the zone early and keeping it there throughout his swing.

 

Emerson Fleck (2024 OF, Spokane, WA) ended the weekend with a bang, sending a no doubt homerun to left field.  He is a strong player that creates good separation and looks to do damage to the pull side.  He did a nice job clearing his hands through and staying short to the ball in this at bat.


7-Red vs 8-Royal Game Highlights

Jacob Petersen (2023 RHP, Sammamish, WA) worked some quality innings on the mound over his three inning appearance. The junior was up to 84 mph with his fastball as he set it up with a short late darting slider that showed good hand speed in the mid 70’s.

 

Jian Jung (2024 RHP, Graham, WA) was equally as good on the mound as he was at the plate. He ran the fastball up to82 mph and landed a big curveball for strikes consistently as he proved capable of missing barrels with both offerings. At the plate he added a double to center field. 

 

Hideto Atsumi (2023 2B, Bellevue, WA) worked three of the quicker innings on the day as he was able to keep hitters off balance with his full arsenal of four pitches. The fastball came out cleanly in the upper 70’s while the curveball and slider each offered a different look with feel for the spin, the changeup rounded out the four pitch mix with some occasional arm side fade. 

 

Cody Matson (2022 3B, Redmond, WA) took the best swing of the day when he launched a fastball late in game three off of the top of the wall in left caroming into the parking lot for a home run. The barrel was one time and the punch in the hands at the point of contact provided good carry to the pull side. 


3-Maroon vs 4-Navy Game Highlights

Ethan Gardner (2022 OF, Meridian, ID) impressed on day one of the showcase as he took his good test numbers and showcased them in game play with a missile to left field off the bat and some stolen bases. His right-handed swing shows good hand speed and barrel control with a line drive approach that gets him on base and allows his speed to affect the game. 

 

Logan Smith (2022 RHP, Anchorage, AK) had a solid day both on the mound and at the plate impacting the game on both sides of the ball. On the mound the fastball got up to 82 mph with good life at the top of the zone. At the plate he added long double to deep center field driving a fastball over the outfielder’s head.

 

Emerson Fleck (2024 OF, Spokane, WA) showed good intent in his right-handed swing with bat speed that plays to the pull side. When the bat head got out front he was able to create solid carry to the pull side including his well struck ball through the left side of the infield. 

 

Adam Jay (2025 LHP, Maple Valley, WA) proved his ability to miss bats with a projectable fastball that showed good natural movement through the hitting zone. His free and easy arm action will project well moving forward as he continues to mature as will his feel for control of the fastball and breaking ball as a solid two pitch mix. 

 

Dominic Huffman (2024 RHP, Mead, WA) blew the doors off of some hitters with his fastball moving it around the zone with natural arm side run well topping out at 82 mph. The movement on the heater proved to be especially tough on right-handed hitter as he ran it in on the hands to tying them up late in counts. 

 

Conrad Henkel (2023 OF, Black Diamond, WA) worked himself into a plus count where he could hunt a fastball. He showed some quickness in the bat as he took a direct path to the ball keeping the hands inside and driving it past eh center fielder for an inside the part homerun also displaying is base running ability. 


1-Gold vs 2-Gray Game Highlights

Finn Leach (2025 SS, Seattle, WA) showed a short simple stroke staying inside the baseball with good punch at the point of contact. He got the hit parade started for the day with the first extra base hit when he drove a ball into right center field for a double. 

 

Ryan Antonio (2022 3B, Shelton, WA) started his day with a loud double to right center field and backed that up with another well struck line drive to left-center field. He matches plane well and stays through the ball well with some strength in the hands. 

 

Jett Reed (2025 LHP, Puyallup, WA) stayed inside the baseball shooting a ball over the short stop and splitting the out fielders on his way into second base for a double. The load and pre-swing are simple allowing the hands and barrel to work under control to the ball and manipulate the bat path.

 

Ian Draper (2025 SS, Puyallup, WA) ambushed a fastball driving it over the head of the center fielder for a triple. The ball jumps off the barrel with good use of the lower half to create power from the ground up helping to create the easy carry on the ball flight. 

 

Jason Marshall (2024 RHP, Puyallup, WA) recorded two hits on the day a double to left in his second at bat to follow up his single to right in his first at bat. The barrel control stands out as he stays through the ball well matching plane. 

 

CJ Brewer (2023 2B, Puyallup, WA) drove a stand-up triple into left burning the outfielder as he handled a fastball on the inner half well getting the bat head out front at the point of contact. Defensively he showed good actions working through the ball well and making accurate throws across the diamond.   

 

Jack Cahill (2023 C, Seattle, WA) has a big physical frame with strength that plays in his right-handed swing. He hammered a loud double in the left center field gap clearing the left fielders head and caroming off the wall. 

 

Harrison Kelly (2022 C, Carnation, WA) drove a ball off the base of the wall showcasing power to the pull side. He has some solid bat speed from the right side with the ability create leverage on the baseball and back spin the ball well to create carry. 

 

Will Crain (2025 RHP, Mercer Island, WA) showed tons of promise on the mound with his fastball getting into the low 80's with more to come as he counties to fill out his frame. He also showed feel for a darting slider in the mid 70's with great hand speed. 


Batting Practice Highlights

8/28/2021

Logan Howard (2024 C, Puyallup, WA) did a nice job of using his lower half to work through the ball.  He has natural loft to his swing and looks to lift the ball, making hard contact to the pull side.

Seth Baldwin (2022 3B, Snohomish, WA) showed nice pop off the bat today, making solid contact out in front of the plate.  He swings hard and is able generate bat speed through the zone.

Will Cahill (2025 OF, Seattle, WA) has quick hands and is able to generate bat speed and power to the pull side.  This power showed as he stayed on balance and launched a home run to the pull side.

Yechan Lee (2024 SS, Bellevue, WA) has quick movements at the plate that lead into a twitchy swing.  He generates nice whip through the zone with the barrel that resulted in a home run during his round.

Jay Mentink (2023 OF, Lake Tapps, WA) utilizes his lower half well, violently firing his hips.  This lower half usage allows for easy power that he pairs with a line drive approach.

Logan Hall (2023 3B, Snohomish, WA) has an up-the-middle approach that helps him make hard contact out in front of the plate.  He has quick hands that he pairs with a swing that creates natural loft on the ball.

Ethan Gardner (2022 OF, Meridian, ID) is an athletic player that has good feel for the barrel.  He has a twitchy swing and is able to make consistently hard contact to all parts of the field.

Isaac Hertzog (2023 SS, Tigard, OR) has a longer swing path that allows him to generate nice power and carry into the gaps when he makes contact out front.  He has a line drive approach and consistently hits balls into the gaps.

Cash Erdman (2025 1B, Kirkland, WA) was able to find consistent barrels and create nice carry into the gap.  He has a good frame with plenty of room to add strength that will lead to even more power.

Caleb Gray (2022 1B, Greenacres, WA) is a switch hitter with a lot of power potential.  He has a smooth swing with strong hands that leads to natural power.  He used this power to send a homerun over the right field fence when swinging from the left side.

Aiden Jackson (2022 SS, Lakewood, WA) made consistent hard contact throughout his round today, generating nice pop off the bat.  He showed good barrel control throughout the day.

Brandon Stinnett (2023 SS, Lyons, OR) did a nice job staying up the middle, sending hard line drives to center field.  He stays on balance throughout his swing and is able to generate nice pop with his quick hands.

Luke Mertlich (2023 LHP, Puyallup, WA) shifts his weight through his swing well, creating easy power in the box.  He found a lot of success staying up the middle and showed power potential to the pull side of the field.

Cole Chatterjee (2024 1B, Los Altos, CA) is short to the ball and is able to turn the barrel over well.  He does a nice job of staying inside the baseball throughout his swing.

Jian Jung (2024 RHP, Graham, WA) uses a simple swing at the plate and does a nice job of creating bat speed with his quick hands.  He is able to generate nice carry into the gaps when he is on time and makes contact in front of the plate.

Cody Matson (2022 3B, Redmond, WA) is a physical hitter at the plate.  He has a longer swing and looks to do damage with his present strength, especially to the pull side.

Joshua Roof (2023 OF, Redmond, WA) has a loose swing that is simple and repeatable.  He does a nice job of staying on rhythm and making consistent hard contact with the barrel.

Austin "AJ" Jones (2022 C, Boise, ID) is a strong player that uses his strength in his swing.  He has strong, quick hands that is able to generate easy power, especially to the pull side.

Damico (DJ) Parker Jr (2024 OF, Tukwila, WA) has a quick swing and good feel for the barrel, showing nice pop off the bat.  He has a rotational swing with a short swing path that is direct to the ball.

Boston Stanley (2025 3B, Allyn, WA) has a line drive approach that he pairs with good feel for the barrel.  He was able to send multiple line drives with nice carry into the gaps during his round.


5-Orange vs. 6-Purple Game Highlights

8/28/2021

Luke Gurr (2023 RHP, Sammamish, WA) was impressive on the mound today, striking out four batters in his three innings of work.  He has a large frame and is a physical pitcher, running his fastball up to 85 miles per hour.  He complimented this fastball with a slider that has nice shape and break that came in at 73 mph.  He gets nice extension on the mound, allowing his pitches to come in firm and have late life on them.

 

Ian Williams (2023 1B, Lacey, WA) put the power on display in his last at bat, sending a deep fly ball to left field that landed next to the fence for a stand up double.  He is a strong athlete that whips the barrel through the zone with his quick hands.  He is able to make hard contact consistently when he is on time and hits the ball in front of the plate.

 

Luke Mertlich (2023 LHP, Puyallup, WA) showed two-way potential today, working three innings on the mound and striking out eight along the way.  He only allowed one run on one hit to score.  His fastball sat 74-77 mph and his curveball kept hitters off balance coming in at 68 mph.  He also showed nice barrel control at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.  His first single was a hard-hit ball through the left side and his second he showed off his speed with an infield single past the pitcher.  He does a nice job of staying on balance throughout his swing and looks to use the entire field.

 

Kj Johnson (2024 RHP, Kent, WA) had it working on the mound today, striking out five opposing batters in three innings and only allowing one run on three hits.  He worked a fastball/curveball combination that sat 70-74 mph and 64 mph respectively.  He was able to move his fastball around the zone effectively and put hitters away with his curve.

 

Cooper Larson (2022 SS, Dalton Gardens, ID) jumped all over a first pitch fastball in his last at bat, sending it deep to left for a leadoff homerun.  He has quick hands that generates nice bat speed and is consistently on time.  He looks to do damage to the pull side like he did in this at bat.

 

Matthew Perran (2023 OF, Woodinville, WA) made the most of a fastball that caught too much of the plate, launching a homerun deep to left field.  He is a strong player that does a nice job of making contact out in front of the plate.  He has a pull side approach and a swing that creates natural loft.

 

Cal Zimmerman (2024 SS, Kirkland, WA) was on time throughout the game today, going 2-for-3 with a single to center and an infield single to short.  He does a nice job of staying short to the ball and keeps the barrel in the zone throughout his swing.  He is a twitchy athlete that showed off the wheels on his infield single.
