Lukas Cheris (2022 C, Glencoe, IL) had a great day in the box, showing a patient approach and strong wrists with jump off the barrel when squared. The right-handed hitter found the barrel early and often in this one, smoking two doubles.
Matt Merk (2022 C, Lockport, IL) was seeing the ball well today as he flashed his power potential, producing multiple barrels during the game. Merk swings with intent and doesn't get cheated, as he showcased his strength and bat speed.
Joey Oakie (2024 2B, Ankeny, IA) is an exciting young prospect that put together an impressive performance on the mound, sitting 84-86 and topping out at 87 mph. He displayed great feel for a four-pitch mix, and showed the ability to change planes with his breaking ball.
Ryan Wong (2021 RHP, Chicago, IL) struck out three opposing batters and walked just one in two innings of work. The uncommitted senior sat 84-87 mph with heavy cut action, while mixing in a 76 mph curveball that breaks as it crosses the plate.
Dylan Patzfahl (2024 C, Greendale, WI) showed advanced bat control for his age, as he consistently found barrels all game. Patzfahl gets the foot down early and is ready to hit as the pitcher releases the ball. He collected a couple of singles in this one, displaying his quick hands.
Jack Clark (2024 C, Solon, IA) has a strong and athletic build, and put together some solid at bats in this one. Clark flashed his power potential, making contact out front and producing a couple of well-struck hits.
Connor Capece (2023 C, Omaha, NE) showed some promising two-way potential today, putting together a solid performance on the mound and at the plate. He shows quick hands and a direct path to the ball in the box, while running his fastball up to 82 mph on the bump.
Sean Ryniec (2023 C, Downers Grove, IL) made solid contact in his last at bat, showing great extension through the swing. On the mound, he sat 76-78 mph and used his curveball early and often, displaying late bite with the ability to add to subtract speed.
Maksymilian Pierga (2023 RHP, Barrington, IL) put together a dominating start for the Red team, striking out the side in each of his innings and not allowing a single walk. The large-framed sophomore sat 82-85 mph with two different breakers and excellent command.
Brayden Marks (2022 RHP, Elkhorn, WI) was impressive in his two innings of work, striking out five opposing hitters and walking none. Marks sat 85-88 mph with big time arm side run and present arm speed. He has a slider and a changeup in his arsenal, and he tunnels them very well.
Ryan Hussey (2023 RHP, Mokena, IL) threw a quick and efficient inning, striking out two and walking one. The Notre Dame commit sat 86-88 mph with a short arm action that comes through clean and fast. He utilized a clean and fluid operation that projects very well.
Carson Knebel (2022 RHP, Bettendorf, IA) flashed his swing and miss potential in this one, striking out five in two innings of work. The long and lanky junior sat 81-83 mph, and featured a 12/6 curveball and a changeup with fade.
