Gray Vs. Maroon Highlights

Xavier Isaac (2022 1B, Kernersville, NC) flashed a very strong build with an extra large frame at 6'3" 230 lbs. The smooth swinging lefty showed big time pop as he hammered a triple to the opposite field gap for a stand-up triple. He also proved he could simplify and be patient as he singled up the middle late in a count. He proved to be well rounded as he turned a double play at first base as well showing great footwork for a big man. 

Andrew Burns (2022 3B, Albertville, AL) showcased some of the loudest at-bats from the game as he found the barrel often. He singled down the left field line as the baseball bounced off third-base. Late in the game, he took a high fastball and drove it deep to the CF warning track for a SAC fly. His hit-tool has nothing but upside to it. 

Ethan Thomas (2023 OF, Jarvisburg, NC) showed a short, simple approach at the plate as the left-handed hitter squared the baseball up. He showed total control of the barrel as he went on to single twice in the game. The fast-twitch type player showed top of the line-up skills with confidence at the dish in any situation. 

Justyn Hudson (2020 RHP, Lawrenceville, VA) was one of the more prominent duel threats as he hoped on the mound and pounded the strike-zone. He sat 80-82 with heavy life to the heater. He went on to strike-out 5 batters. He also proved he could swing it a little bit as he hit a towering fly ball to center that was just missed. 

Will Stadler (2022 OF, Burlington, NC) showed one of the more versatile swings in the event as he threw hands at the baseball with plus bat speed. The right-handed hitter singled to left-center and then went on to showcase great baseball instincts as he stole second on first movements against a lefty. 

Cyle Phelan (2021 LHP, Fuquay Varina, NC) flashed a very mature build with strong looks. The big left-handed pitcher showed a whippy arm as he pounded the strike-zone sitting 85-88 while touching 90 as he worked from a tough 3/4 angle. He struck out 5 of the 9 batters faced as he over-whelmed hitters giving up no hits. 

Lincoln Ihler (2021 OF, Lillington, NC) showcased an interesting look as the lanky right-handed pitcher delivered from a true side-arm slot. He ran his fastball up to 83 as he got plenty of swings and misses. His slider proved to be his best off-speed pitch as he worked from the same arm slot proving it to be hard to detect pitches early out of hand. 

Dalton Ausley (2022 C, Fuquay-Varina, NC) utilized a bigger frame with a stocky type look. The right-handed hitter showed power when he got extended. He got the barrel out front and drove a double down the leftfield line. Great hand-eye coordination both at the plate and behind it. 


Red vs Green Game Highlights

Dwayne Preston II (2021 OF, Fort Washington, MD) The 2021 grad displayed good bat speed with present strength at contact. Turned the barrel well to baseball for a triple in his last at-bat of the game.

Seth Barnes (2021 MIF, Cheltenham, MD) Barnes utilized a simple, repeatable line drive approach with solid strength through extension.  Doubled to the right center field gap in his last at-bat of the game.

Hunter Russell (2022 C, Clemmons, NC) The 2020 grad showed good balance at the plate with the ability to control and manipulate the bat head. Created loud contact on a double to the right-center field gap in his first at-bat of the game.

Aidan Cooper (2021 RHP, Raleigh, NC) Cooper has a very projectable 6-foot-5 frame with a long, loose arm action. Created heavy arm side run with a fastball that topped at 85 mph. The 2021 grad also showed good feel for his breaking ball ion the low 70's. Cooper worked 3 hitless innings and struck out 7 batters.

Leighton Finley (2022 SS, Richmond Hill, GA) The 2022 grad also displayed good arm speed through the zone and created good jump through the zone with a fastball that topped at 86 mph. Finley looked to attack the bottom quadrants of the zone with fastball offering and induced weak contact.


Gold vs Purple Game Highlights

11/10/2019

Macon Winslow (2023 C, Hertford, NC) The 2023 grad shows an advanced approach at the plate with present bat speed. Consistently produced loud, hard contact. Collected 2 hits in game action including a triple down the left field line in his last at-bat.

Reed Sullivan (2021 SS, Mooresville, NC) The 2021 grad looked to utilize a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension that generated good backspin off the barrel when squared. Collected 2 hits including a double to left-center field.

Kai Cunningham (2022 SS, Atlanta, GA) Showed a simple, repeatable swing plane with good feel for the barrel. Showed the ability to work to all fields. Collected 2 hits including a double to the opposite field gap.

Trent Pulliam (2021 MIF, Richmond, VA) Utilized a balance swing with a line drive barrel plane. Showed a knack for finding the barrel and collected 2 base hits.

Gehrig Hodges (2023 1B, Fayetteville, NC) The 2023 grad showed an all field approach with the ability to control the barrel head throughout the zone. Collected 2 hits in 3 trips to the plate.

Graham Wike (2023 2B, Clayton, NC) Wike displayed quick hands through the zone with the ability to generate barrel whip at extension. Turned the barrel well to contact on a hard double to pull side.

Jerry Garcia (2021 RHP, Statesville, NC) The 2021 grad showed good presence on the mound with a loose arm action at release. Fastball generated heavy downhill plane in the low to midw 80's, topped at 86 mph. Garcia worked 3 no hit innings and struck out 7 batters.


Batting Practice Highlights

Macon Winslow (2023 C, Hertford, NC) is an impressive young catcher who already has a commitment to Duke and his bat and offensive potential is part of that. He has quick hands and very goo present bat speed for his age with some projectable power in his future.

Matthew Sicoli (2021 OF, Washington, DC) has a nice athletic 6-3/185 build and a well timed and leveraged swing that created lots of hard barrels to drive the ball up the left centerfield gap. He's very projectable and will continue to improve.

Owen McCarthy (2022 C, Exton, PA) has a short contact oriented swing approach but the strength to create some bat speed and get the ball to jump. He looks like a hitter who is going to hit for a high average in the future.

Ryan Peterson (2021 C, Virginia Beach, VA) is a left handed hitting catcher with present strength and an aggressive swing approach. He really drove the ball well when he got the barrel turned and was just as impressive in his game swings.

Josh Foulks (2022 1B, Oak Ridge, NC) stands out because of his long 6-5/190 build and also because he has hitter's hands that create good bat speed from a notably short path for his length. When he learns to use his lower half more there is some big power there.

Grayson Myrick (2022 RHP, Greenville, NC) is a young right hander with some talent on the mound but he's also a potential two-way prospect. He has a calm and simple swing that is deceptively strong and he put a charge into some balls in BP, then repeated that in the game.

Chase Caristo (2021 SS, Apex, NC) has a loose and extended swing and gets lots of carry on the ball for his 5-8/160 build. He's going to keep improving in step with how much stronger he can get.

Cyle Phelan (2021 LHP, Fuquay Varina, NC) has a big and strong 6-2/205 build and creates lots of present bat speed with plenty of lift in his swing. He swings the bat with intent and has the raw power to leave the park at any time.

Xavier Isaac (2022 1B, Kernersville, NC) looks the part of the power hitter at 6-3/230 with a smooth and easy left handed swing. His big raw power comes easily right now and he's only a sophomore.

Andrew Burns (2022 3B, Albertville, AL) is present strong for a 2022 and has quick twitch hands that enable him to keep his swing short while still retaining plus power. He gets plus carry gap to gap and is another hitter who repeated his BP contact well in the game.

Ethan Thomas (2023 OF, Jarvisburg, NC) takes a full and aggressive swing from the left side but did a surprisingly good job of staying on the ball and squaring up almost every pitch. He should definitely continue to improve as he matures physically.

Lucas DeStefano (2021 SS, Atco, NJ) has a calm and repeatable hitting approach and the strong hands that show that he's probably swung the bat more than most of his peers. He had a feel for barreling up the ball and had a very steady strong round.

Robert Gavlik (2022 C, McMurray, PA) is a big and strong left handed hitter at 6-1/215 and has a sound swing that enabled him to use that strength well to lift some balls deep to the middle of the field.

Kenneth Schaedel (2022 OF, Virginia Beach, VA) has a very nice 6-3/200 build with present strength and with present bat speed. He blasted a couple of bombs during his round and was very well timed despite a big leg raise load.

 

 


Green vs Maroon Game Highlights

CJ Powell (2022 C, Mebane, NC) Powell displayed a compact stroke to contact with natural leverage through extension. Hammered a home run to deep left field in his first at-bat of the game.

Jake Porter (2021 2B, Kennesaw, GA) The 2021 grad showed plus bat speed with the ability to throw barrel head to contact with authority. Tripled to left field in his first at-bat of the game.

Grayson Myrick (2022 RHP, Greenville, NC) Myrick flashed quick hands through the zone with the ability to created tight backspin off the barrel when squared. Also impressed on the mound showing simple, repeatable mechanics. Consistently worked ahead of hitters with a fastball up to 80 mph and also showed good feel for a later breaking curveball.

Jack Pistner (2021 3B, Ellicott City, MD) Pistner showed a mature approach at the plate with very good barrel feel. Consistently generated hard contact and collected 2 hits in game action.

Andrew Burns (2022 3B, Albertville, AL) The Alabama native showed a naturally lifted swing plane with present strength at contact. Hammered a triple to straight away center field in his first at-bat of the game.

Jacob Kidd (2021 C, Hurricane, WV) Kidd utilized a linear barrel plane through extension with good strength at contact. Ball jumped off the barrel with authority when squared. 


Gray vs Gold Game Highlights

11/9/2019

Joseph Kelly (2021 C, Clayton, NC) Kelly displayed a mature approach at the plate with present bat speed through extension. Singled sharply to right field in his first at-bat of the game.

Gehrig Hodges (2023 1B, Fayetteville, NC) The 2023 grad showed the ability to throw his hands to contact while showing good feel for the bat head. Flashed the ability to work to all fields and singled the opposite way in his first at-bat.

Will Sword (2022 RHP, Cary, NC) The Cary native displayed good feel for the edges of the zone with a fastball that topped at 82 mph. Consistently worked ahead of hitters early in counts and looked to utilize breaking ball when ahead. Sword worked 3 scoreless inning while striking out 4 batters.

Ryan Peterson (2021 C, Virginia Beach, VA) Peterson displayed a balance approach with a linear barrel plane through extension. Showed the ability to let the ball travel deeper in the zone and work the ball the other way.

Jonathan Buyna (2023 LHP, Wake Forest, NC) Buyna produced good bat speed through extension with solid barrel whip.

Walker Pedante (2021 RHP, Glen Allen, VA) The 2021 shows a projectable build on the mound with a loose, lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumped out of hand with heavy downhill plane in mid 80's, topped at 87 mph. Pedante worked 3 shutout innings and struck out 5 batters.

Brady Turner (2022 LHP, High Point, NC) Turner generated good arm whip while showing an easy, repeatable delivery. Hides the baseball well and generated good jump on hitter with a fastball that topped at 84 mph.


Purple vs Red Game Highlights

11/9/2019

Graham Wike (2023 2B, Clayton, NC) The 2023 grad utilized a compact, repeatable swing plane with a high contact approach. Consistently found the barrel collecting 2 hits in game action.

Aaron Rothballer (2022 RHP, Pewee Valley, KY) Showed a line drive barrel plane with the ability to throw hands to contact with good bat speed. Singled sharply on a hard line drive to left field in his first at-bat.

Benjamin Stuart (2022 RHP, Athens, GA) The Athens native was impressive on the mound showing a quack arm with a fastball that topped at 82 mph. Generated good downhill plane with fastball offering and induced weaker contact. The 2020 grad worked 3 innings striking out 6 batters.

Jacob Woodlief (2022 3B, Youngsville, NC) Woodlieft displayed an aggressive approach at the plate with present bat speed and strength at contact. Drove a hard double to the left-center field gap in his second at-bat of the game.

Leighton Finley (2022 SS, Richmond Hill, GA) Finley also displayed good strength in his swing with the ability to produced extension out front. Drove a double to the left-center field gap in his first at-bat of the game.

Charlie Knighton (2023 SS, Richmond, VA) The Virginia native showed an athletic stance while in the box with good feel for the barrel throughout the zone. Singled sharply to left in his last at-bat of the game and also showed good speed on the base paths.

Jarrett Hamby (2020 C, Baskerville, VA) The 2020 grad showed a knack for finding the barrel and proved to be a difficult out while at the plate. Hamby utilized a linear barrel plane with a compact, direct path to contact.

Caden Brantley (2023 LHP, Newton, NC) The 2023 grad showed the balance and barrel skills to let the ball travel and work to all fields. Singled sharply to right field in his first at-bat of the game.

Kenneth Schaedel (2022 OF, Virginia Beach, VA) Schaedel shows very good strength at the plate with the ability to generate very hard contact when squared. Singled sharply in his last at-bat of the game picking up 2 RBI's.

Robert Gavlik (2022 C, McMurray, PA) The Pennsylvania native showed advanced feel for the barrel with the ability to control the barrel head to all parts of the zone. Hammered a single to the middle of the field in his second at-bat of the day.
