Batting Practice Highlights >>

10/25/2020 10:32:25 AM

Marcos Bisono (2022 OF, Davie, FL) stands out for his 6-2/185 athletic build and his ability to create present bat speed and extension through the ball.  The right handed hitter can get long at times but the ball comes off the barrel hard and carries.

Amman Dewberry (2022 OF, Conyers, GA) wasn't consistent in his swing timing but when the big 6-3/190 left-handed hitter got his barrel out on time he showed easy plus power potentiel.

Ben Clark (2023 C, New Albany, OH) has lots of growing to do but the 5-11/160 right-handed hitting catcher has a very solid present hitting approach with good looseness to go with an aggressive approach at the plate.

Jackson Norris (2021 C, Rome, GA) has good present strength and stands out as a left-handed hitting catcher with present bat speed.  He hits from a tall set up and uses his leverage and strength well to create leverage and barrel whip.

Stewart Bonnecaze (2022 RHP, Baton Rouge, LA) is a primary pitcher but we're confident he's an accomplished two-way player given his swing and bat speed.  He really drives his lower half well into contact and consistently drove the left centerfield alley with jump and carry.

Cole Manuel (2023 C, Clinton, MS) has good strength for a sophomore at 5-11/195 and uses that strength well to create right-handed bat speed.  He has lift in his swing and got lots of carry to the middle of the field.

Jack Rickheim (2023 SS, Milton, GA) checked lots of boxes for what you want to see in a young right-handed hitter.  He hits from a very calm and simple approach that he repeated very well, resulting in consistent hard barrels.  He's a polished hitter with lots of projection.

Colby Camps (2022 C, Alpharetta, GA) has very good present strength in his solid 5-11/190 build and that strength helps give him very good present bat speed.  The right-handed hitter hits under control with a polished and refined approach that maximized barrels while still showing impressive power.

Matthew Ma (2022 3B, Denham Springs, LA) is another present strong 5-11/195 right-handed hitting junior with very good present bat speed and the ability to drive the ball hard, especially when he gets his front foot down on time from a big hanging load.

Austin Stephenson (2022 SS, Columbus, GA) has a nice and projectable 6-2/181 build that will fill in nicely over the next few years and a loose right-handed swing with good bat speed.  He worked gap to gap with some jump and carry off the barrel.

Michael O'Brien (2023, OF, River Ridge, LA) is a young Tulane commit with a bright future in the batter's box.  The sophomore left handed hitter takes an aggressive left-handed swing with big lower half shift and  big raw bat speed.

Archer Wong-Shasteen (2021 2B, Knoxville, TN) has a young look and build for a senior and a nice, athletic right-handed swing that was very consistent.  He looks like a high average hitter who can really barrel the ball up.

Dylan Bass (2022 OF, Northbrook, IL) has an impressive 6-2/178 build that looks bigger and stronger than listed.  He takes an aggressive full gorilla swing from the right side that shows big bat speed and raw power potential.

Jonathan Dobis (2024 MIF, Eagan, MN) is a very young primary pitcher from Minnesota but his right handed swing was very athletic with bat speed and consistent hard pull line drive contact.  He's an interesting young athlete.

Sam Humphrey (2024 C, Buford, GA) is another freshman who stood out, showing a short and direct left handed swing, with surprising bat speed and carry for a young 5-9/145 athlete.  He really projects as he continues to get stronger.

Jeremy Sheffield (2022 OF, Chesterfield, MO) looks longer and taller than his listed 6-3/162 and he has some very projectable elements to his right handed swing with some refinements and additional strength.

Game Highlights Maroon Team 5 vs Purple Team 7 >>

10/25/2020 4:18:41 AM

Andrew Wells (2023 3B, Midland, GA) Wells is. a big strong physical kid with room to project moving forward.  He did a good job staying through the ball with a single to LCF. His good bat speed and hand strenght at the point of contact allow the ball to jump off the bat with some juice to the pull side.

Ryan Neilson (2022 RHP, Collierville, TN) Neilson attacked hitters early in the count with his fastball in the 80-84 mph range. The fastball was paired with a low 70’s breaking ball that showed sharp downer action with 12-6 bite. His feel for these two offerings allowed him to cruise through his first inning of work with the ability to miss bats with both pitches.

Caleb Ougel (2022 C, Galliano, LA) showed a quick arm in his one inning of work to close out the game. He sat in the low 80's with his fastball and ran it up to 84 mph with strikes to both halves of the plate. His simple delivery keeps him on line to the plate as he works straight down hill and looks to attack hitters.

Game Highlights Orange Team 6 vs Purple Team 7 >>

10/25/2020 4:08:31 AM

Benjamin Stuart (2022 RHP, Statham, GA) Stuart an Army commit has a prototypical pitchers build with some present strength in the lower half. He topped out at 88 mph with his fastball and sat in the 84-87 mph range. His simple delivery is easily repeated and allows him to attack hitters with his fastball early in the count before mixing in his curveball with good arm speed in the mid 70’s with late 11-5 bite as he landed it for strikes as well as throwing it for swings and misses.

Miller St. John (2021 SS, Marvin, NC) St. John did a nice job battling a long at bat with the ability to spoil good pitches. He worked the count till he got a fastball and did a nice job pulling his hands in to drive a triple down the left field line. His ability to pull the hands in allowed him to keep the ball fair with a true flight down the line.

Game Highlights Maroon Team 5 vs Orange Team 6 >>

10/25/2020 4:00:16 AM

Michael O'Brien (2023 OF, River Ridge, LA) O'Brien showed quick twitch in the hands with good barrel control. In his first at bat he jumped on a second pitch fastball down in the zone and drove it back up the middle for a single as he did a good job of going down to get it and hit it on a line,

Cameron Ray (2021 OF, Birmingham, AL) Ray does a nice job getting the barrel head out front with some twitch in the hands. He laced a single to left field in his first at bat and then showed his good speed with two stolen bases. He proved his ability to put stress on the defense with his speed as he takes his aggressive mentality from the box to the bases.

Aiden Beechy (2021 RHP, Venice, FL) Beechy worked a solid three innings with a good three pitch mix. He sat 78-81 mph with his fastball to both sides of the plate. He paired his fastball with a changeup that showed good arm speed with some sink in the low 70’s and a slider that had good late sweeping action off the barrel of righthanded hitters.

Game Highlights Black Team 1 vs Col. Blue Team 2 >>

10/25/2020 3:52:39 AM

Donovan Dykstra (2021 1B, Martinez, GA) Dykstra showed a smooth lefthanded swing with the ability to leverage the ball to the pull side. He did a nice job staying on the baseball and driving it in the right center field gap for a double. His 6-foot-3 frame shows room to fill moving forward with the potential for more power to come.

Amman Dewberry (2022 OF, Conyers, GA) Dewberry showed a long lean build with a 6-foot-3 frame. His lefthanded swing has easy loft in the swing path with the ability to create back spin on the baseball. He displayed some power to the opposite field with a loud double to the left centerfield gap that one hopped off the wall. He followed that up with another double to left field in in second at bat as he continued to show his good feel for the barrel.

Ayden Benson (2023 RHP, Rogers, AR) Benson retired nine of the ten batters he faced in his three innings of work. His ability to get arm side run on the fastball allowed him to keep the ball off the barrel as he induced weak contact throughout his outing. He sat 74-79 mph from a whippy three-quarters arm slot creating some deception and a different look for hitters. His 6-foot-3 frame has plenty of projection left in it with room to continue to fill.

Owen Geiger (2023 RHP, Atoka, TN) Geiger worked in the mid 80’s with his fastball while topping out at 87 mph with a quick short arm action. He gets some arm side run on the fastball which allows him to keep the ball off the barrel of hitters as he creates a lot of weak contact. He also mixed in a curveball in the low 70’s with 11-5 shape that he showed the ability to land for strikes.

Crawford Courville (2022 OF, Lake Charles, LA) Courville showcased quick hands getting to a mid 80’s fastball on the inner half and turning on it into a triple that one hopped the left center field wall. He does a nice job getting on plane through the hitting zone with good feel for the barrel and some strength in the hands. His simple approach projects well moving forward with the ability to hit high level pitching.

3- Gold Vs. 4- Gray >>

10/24/2020 10:37:42 PM

Colby Camps (2022 C, Alpharetta, GA) tripled in his second at bat of the day today. Camps showed the ability to square the ball up at the ball and made consistent contact this afternoon.

Hunter Murray (2022 OF, Lookout Mountain, GA) singled in each of his last two at bats of the day today. Murray showed a line drive swing plane with bat speed and a confident approach at the plate.

Preston Ewing (2021 RHP, Collierville, TN) topped out at 85mph on his fastball today mixing in a slider at 79mph. Ewing did a good job of keeping the ball down in the zone working to both sides of the plate and showed good command of his curveball.

Miles Thomas (2022 C, Tuscaloosa, AL) showed some pop at the plate today doubling in his last at bat. Thomas showed a level swing with bat speed and hits the ball where it's pitched.

Zach Creighton (2021 RHP, San Marcos, CA) sat 80-83mph on his fastball with it topping out at 84mph this afternoon pairing it with a curveball at 70mph and a slider at 77mph. Creighton has a smooth natural delivery, pitching with good tempo on the mound and has late action to his fastball.
