11-Vegas Gold vs. 10-Royal Game Highlights >>

6/9/2019 2:15:12 PM

Alex Ulloa (2021 SS, Cutler Bay, FL) put on a clinic defensively with a number of successful difficult plays recorded. He showed excellent hands with balance to his right at shortstop and has a good internal clock with enough arm strength to know when he needs to dial up his throws.

Eli Copenhaver (2021 LHP, Birmingham, AL) carved hitters up with a primarily two pitch mix that included a deceptive, lively fastball up to 84 mph. The slider is a difference maker with two-plane break especially when buried for whiffs.

Drew Wyers (2022 SS, Columbus, NJ) showed off the athleticism with a very smooth 6-3 double play. He leaped high off the ground to snag a liner and delivered a strong throw to first to double up the offense.

Ty Uber (2021 RHP, Cameron Park, CA) turned in a long at-bat where he showed a patient approach and walked twice before singling in a run. He went with an outer half fastball to drive it to right field on a line to go along with a stolen base.

Bryan Loriga (2021 3B, Hialeah, FL) might have recorded the hardest hit ball of the day with an absolute shot to the third base line. That was flared down thanks to a dive by Tucker Toman (2022 3B, Columbia, SC) who showed off the reflexes and twitch with the diving stab.

Rene Lastres (2021 C, Hialeah Gardens, FL) had two very productive at-bat with an absolute laser of a flyout in the first inning and a soft line drive for a run-scoring single in his last at-bat. He's a very strong righthanded hitter with tremendous impact.

Gavin Mez (2021 C, Las Vegas, NV) went with an outer half fastball to knock in a single early in the game and continued his hot streak which brought his hit total up for the entire weekend.
8-Purple vs. 9-Red Game Highlights >>

6/9/2019 12:28:24 PM

Eli Runyan (2021 LHP, Bowdon, GA) was outstanding over three very quick innings, punching four batters out and really diced hitters up. He worked up to 86 mph with some angle and life along with a put away slider that was up to 77 mph and tunneled well.

Michael Braswell (2021 SS, Mableton, GA) has an electric arm with easy double-plus arm speed that produced a fastball up to 91 mph. The arm speed and projection are going to allow Braswell to throw very hard at maturity and his changeup was the most advanced secondary in the upper-70s.

Andrew Grande (2021 3B, Clayton, NC) is a big, physical righthanded hitter and showed off the bat speed by driving a ball hard up the middle. The strength off the barrel is notable and creates a good amount of impact in the righthanded batter's box.

Payton Allen (2021 SS, Rogers, AR) found the barrel again in game with an opposite field double to the gap. He showed quick hands and got the barrel out in front of an 87 mph fastball with carry to the wall.

Ben Petri (2021 SS, Lighthouse Point, FL) ambushed a first pitch fastball and drove it to right field on a line. Petri was sitting dead red and jumped all over an elevated fastball and can use the whole field with intent.

Tommy Hawke (2021 MIF, Oak Island, NC) showed off the speed and was generally a terror on the bases. He beat out an infield single followed by a stolen base before working his way around to score on a passed ball.

Dylan Dreiling (2022 OF, Hays, KS) showed off the barrel skills with two singles on the day. He knocked a single through the 6-hole in his second at-bat after a soft line drive single in the first inning.

Harry Ford (2021 C, Kennesaw, GA) brought in a run with a hard hit single to left field. His bat speed allows for significant impact off the barrel and his power to left field is notable.

White and Vegas Gold Game Highlights

Aaron Calhoun (2021, RHP/OF, Pearland, TX) has shown well all weekend with a fastball up to 90 mph and a top throw of 94 mph from the outfield. He stayed on the baseball well for a line drive single in game action and is a high-level uncommitted prospect.

Tyler Leroy (2021, C, Delran, NJ) showed elite arm strength behind the plate to second base, later dropping to a knee on a firm and accurate throw to third base.  There is a lot to like about the uncommitted catcher who has present strength and plenty of athleticism to stay behind the dish.

Elijah Lambros (2021, OF, Fredericksburg, VA) is uncommitted but has shown elite athleticism today. He is very fluid runner and tracked down balls in the gap at the center field position. He also hit a sharp single for an RBI in game action.

Sean Smith (1B, 2021, Pascagoula, MS) is another uncommitted prospect who has stood out this weekend. He covered the plate well and struck a line drive down the right field line on a well located pitch. He has high level hitting potential as he develops.

Christopher Bernal (2021, C, McAllen, TX) it is easy to see the all-around game of this uncommitted prospect. He has good catch and throw skills, shows leadership skills, and has barreled multiple balls this weekend including a muscled single today.

Gavin Mez (2021, C, Las Vegas, NV) had a reputation of being a very good in game performer and has only solidified that this weekend.  Hitting from the left side, the uncommitted catcher had a hard opposite field single last night and followed it up by turning on a fastball today and driving into right field for a hit.

Casey Artigues (2021, OF/SS, Hammond, LA) showing why he is looked at as an elite defender.  He made a diving play up the middle at shortstop and got a force at second base, then he ran a long way to make a diving catch in right field while playing outfield. He has a good all-around feel for the game.

8-Purple vs. 10-Royal Highlights >>

6/9/2019 10:31:44 AM

Irving Carter (2021 RHP, Boynton Beach, FL): Carter was excellent as he usually is, working in the 88-91 mph with his fastball and mixing in a sharp-flashing slider at 78-81 mph and a very good, fading changeup in the low-80's. He threw strikes with all three offerings and projects extremely well. He struck out 4 in his 3 innings.

Gavin Brasosky (2021 LHP, Kalamazoo, MI): Brasosky's advanced pitchability stands out, as he works 83-87 mph with his fastball from a lower slot and moves it around the zone quite well, getting it over either edge with ease. He showed a very solid slider with command and flashed a change as well, being in total command through his 3 innings, punching out 4.

Alex Ulloa (2021 SS, Cutler Bay, FL): Ulloa has very advanced defensive actions with light footwork and excellent hands, showing off all of his tools from shortstop consistently. He also handles the bat quite well, showing strength on a double down the line, stealing third, and then scoring on the overthrow. He impacts the game in a variety of ways.

Drew Christo (2021 RHP, Elkhorn, NE): Christo has tremendous projection on his body, and has plenty of present stuff already. He worked in the 87-90 mph range with his fastball and mixed in a curveball in the mid-70's for strikes, a slider in the low-80's with sharpness, and flashed a changeup as well. He was dominant, striking out 7 hitters in 3 innings.

Brett Allen (2021 SS, Mechanicsville, VA): Allen did a nice job of making in-AB adjustments, doing a nice job buying time with his hands on a curveball and lacing it the other way up the left-center field gap for a triple. The barrel skills are sound and he shows the ability to work to all fields.

Drue Hackenberg (2021 RHP, Palmyra, VA): Hackenberg's physicality stands out, and he's got good stuff on the mound to go with it. He worked 84-89 mph with his fastball, showing excellent arm side life to the pitch, and did a good job of throwing strikes to either side with it. He mixed in a solid slider in the mid-70's with slurvy bite, striking out 4 in his 3 innings.
Navy vs. Red Highlights >>

6/9/2019 9:43:20 AM

Andrew Painter (2021 RHP, Pompano Beach, FL) checks a lot of box immediately from his long and projectable frame to how smooth and fast his arm action is. He ran his fastball up to 94 mph which featured cut action from his release and showed comfort landing a mid-70s breaker for strikes as well.

Keegan Allen (2021 RHP, Rogers, AR) showed an up-tempo delivery with a fast arm through the back while creating some plane. He ran his fastball up to 90 mph and tunneled the changeup very well, showing late fading life down in the zone.

Gavin Miller (2022 SS, Oakdale, PA) dug right during his first at-bat and showed no problem handling velocity, sending a 90 mph fastball with cut back up the middle for a hard single.

Mason Cooper (2021 C, Jefferson, GA) put the Navy team on the board with a two RBI single into right field in the second inning. He did a nice job of keeping his hands back on a changeup and got the barrel to it for a line drive single.

Brady House (2021 SS, Winder, GA), one of the top players in class, announced his presence in this game as he turned around an 87 mph for a no doubt blast off the barrel over the left field fence.

Ryan Spikes (2021 SS, Covington, GA) followed House in the inning with an impressive swing of his own, barreling a fastball to the pull side gap for a two base hit, continuing to show well offensively this weekend.

Roy "Bubba" Chandler (2021 RHP, Bogart, GA) is an uncommitted arm out of Georgia who ran his fastball up to 90 mph with occasional cut action through zone. He opened the outing with a first pitch curveball and continued to show confidence in his secondaries as he tripled up on his changeup at one point.

Riley Stanford (2022 OF, Gainesville, GA) lived mostly in the upper-80s with his fastball, bumping as high as 91 mph during his time on the mound. There’s plenty of arm speed through the back and he also flashed a slider up to 76 mph within the zone.

White and Navy Game Highlights >>

6/9/2019 12:00:00 AM

Ryan Spikes (2021, INF/RHP, Covington, GA) now steps on the bump in his last game of his showcase and quickly gives us a glimpse of his all-around game. He pounded the zone with and 85-87/88 fastball and mixed a swing and miss slider at 75.  His athleticism and feel for the game have really stood out.  He added a well struck triple to the right centerfield gap in this game.

Derek (DJ) Radtke (2021, RHP/1B, Marietta, GA) is a two-way player with very good upside. He already showed a loose and athletic swing yesterday and takes the mound and shows promise.  He is tall and has a live body that produces a very nice four pitch mix highlighted by and 86 MPH fastball and a low 80s sinker that had hard late movement.

Brady House (2021, SS, Winder, GA) continued to have a good day at the Jr National.  After a long HR in the first game, he hit a loud double to the left centerfield gap.  He then jumped on the mound and sat between 87-93/94 while landing a very good change up consistently.

Aaron Calhoun (2021, RHP/OF, Pearland, TX) stays hot at the plate driving the ball the other way for a double.  His tools have really shown well this weekend.

Kelly Crumpton (2021, SS/RHP, Jackson, MS) took the mound in his last game today showing a fastball that sat 88-91 and showed the makings of a plus slider at 79-80.  Everything will tick up as he continues to add weight.

Jaime Ferrer (2021, C, Orlando, FL) has continued to show his advanced hit tool as he hit another couple balls hard today.  The last was a hard line drive single that was very loud off bat.

Gavin Abrams (2021, INF, Metuchen, NJ) is a very athletic young infielder showing lateral movement and the ability to throw from different angles.  The left handed hitter has taken very good at bats highlighted by a triple to the pull side gap.

Michael Tsoukalas (2021, C, Arlington, Arlington, WA), a left handed hitter, collected his third hit of the Jr National with an opposite field double to the left center field gap. He also did a good job handling velocity behind the plate this weekend.

11-Vegas Gold vs. 12-White Highlights >>

6/8/2019 9:04:20 PM

Anthony Susac (2021 RHP, Sacramento, CA): Susac has advanced physicality and strength and the arm strength stands out as well, running his fastball up to 91 mph from a lower-3/4 slot that produces a fair bit of life to the arm side. He also mixed in a solid slider in the upper-70's.

Drake Varnado (2021 SS, Port Neches, TX): Varnado showed really fast hands, pulling the barrel in on an 89 mph riding fastball and getting all barrel, roping it down the line for a hard double that one-hopped the wall in left field. He also showed consistently athletic and smooth actions in the middle infield.

Christopher Bernal (2021 C, McAllen, TX): Bernal absolutely launched a triple up the right center field gap, driving it with excellent carry and jump off the barrel, showing off big time power and bat speed.

Daniel McElveny (2021 SS, Chula Vista, CA): McElveny took a good BP round and then continued to swing it well in game, launching a liner triple up the right-center field gap that showed off his bat speed and barrel control. He lined out in his 2nd at-bat, continuing to show those barrel skills.

Michael Tsoukalas (2021 C, Arlington, WA): Tsoukalas found the barrel in both of his at-bats, working to both sides of the field with authority, picking up a couple of well-struck liner singles.

Tucker Toman (2022 3B, Columbia, SC): Toman laced a single down the opposite-field line that would have been for extra bases had the baserunner ahead of him not stopped, showing whip to the barrel through the zone with really smooth hands through the swing.

Hector A. Candelas (2021 OF, Carolina, PR): Candelas took a really good swing on a fastball away and absolutely launched a liner triple over the CF's head towards left-center field, showing off the smoothness and quickness of his hands as well as his raw power.

Hunter Sute (2021 C, Tuscaloosa, AL): Sute showed really well in batting practice and continued swinging a hot bat in game, lacing a double up the opposite field gap with plenty of carry and jump off the barrel.

Tucker Bougie (2021 3B, Mill Valley, CA): Bougie jumped all over a fastball and laced a triple down the right field line, showing some serious whip to the barrel and highly projectable power
Teams 11-12 BP Highlights >>

6/8/2019 6:19:10 PM

Garrett Cutting (2021 SS, Las Vegas, NV): Cutting gets his hips through his swing well and shows quick hands, doing a nice job of consistently finding the barrel pull side with good impact and jump.

Connor Fuhrman (2022 OF, Daleville, VA): Fuhrman is strong and physical with impact bat speed and loose hands, consistently impacting the ball firmly up the middle and pull side with good carry.

Christopher Bernal (2021 C, McAllen, TX): Bernal has extremely advanced strength and showed it off in BP, consistently impacting the ball with authority and carrying it deep into the gaps consistently with impactful jump.

Thomas Dilandri (2021 OF, Las Vegas, NV): Dilandri's strength and bat speed stand out, with serious whip through the zone and natural loft, showing easy HR carry to the pull side with projection for even more.

Daniel McElveny (2021 SS, Chula Vista, CA): McElveny showed intriguing looseness and speed to his hands through the swing, covering the plate well and showing a good bit of natural loft, finding the barrel consistently and projecting for power.

Sean Smith (2021 1B, Pascagoula, MS): Smith took a very loud round of BP, whipping the barrel around with bat speed and violence, driving the ball into the air with authority consistently and with great jump, hitting several out to the pull side.

Revy "Trey" Higgins (2021 OF, Oxford, AL): Higgins showed extremely well from the left side of the plate, with quality bat speed and leverage off of his front side, driving the ball into the air deep to all fields with great carry and jump.

Tyree Reed (2021 OF, Vallejo, CA): Reed has elite level hand speed, whipping the barrel through the zone with tremendous bat speed and seemingly limitless power projection. His offensive upside is vast both in terms of hit and power.

Renzo Gonzalez (2021 OF, Tampa, FL): Gonzalez has very good leverage off of his front side in combination with bat speed and strength, driving the ball into the air with authority and very good carry to the pull side.

Hunter Sute (2021 C, Tuscaloosa, AL): Sute's lower half works really well in his swing and when paired with his present bat speed, he can impact the ball and drive it deep. He projects really well in terms of power.

Mitch Wood (2021 SS, Ottumwa, IA): Wood took a really consistent round, consistently barreling up the ball on a line with authority back through the middle, driving the ball well. His offensive upside is excellent.

Ayden Edwards (2021 C, Graham, NC): Edwards showed a smooth swing with natural loft and plenty of bat speed, showing the ability to drive the ball out of the ballpark to the pull side.

TJ Wachter (2021 RHP, Shoreham, NY): Wachter's strength and physicality immediately stand out and he's able to get his hands moving and the barrel out front and drive baseballs with authority to the pull side and deep center.

Max McGwire (2021 1B, Irvine, CA): McGwire showed a loose, easy swing with quick wrists and good hips through the swing, lofting the ball pull side with authority and lots of projection for power long term as he gains strength.

Purple Game Highlights >>

6/8/2019 2:46:37 PM

Michael Braswell (2021 SS, Mableton, GA) is a South Carolina commit and well known for his two-way prowess. Today he showed a good feel for the strike zone working a walk and followed it up with a line drive to center field.

Jay Woolfolk (2021 RHP, Midlothian, VA) jumped on the mound for the Purple team and the uncommitted righthander ran his fastball up to 92 mph early in the contest. He filled the zone and showed the ability to miss bats while mixing in a slider up to 83 mph with tight rotation.

Triston Horst (2021 OF, Lititz, PA) did a nice job of sitting back on a curveball during his first at-bat and sent it back up the middle for a well-struck line drive single.

Samuel Dutton (2021 RHP, Southside, AL) performed very well on the mound in this look once again, running his fastball up to 90 mph while pounding the zone. More impressive than the velocity however is the command and feel for his secondaries with a changeup and curveball for strikes in any count.

Jackson Gaspard (2022 C, Flowery Branch, GA) quickly got the offense going for the Purple team in the first inning as he got the barrel around on a fastball for a line drive single to open the game before stealing second base.

Andrew Woods (2022 RHP, Monroe, LA) has the frame to dream on physically with plenty of projection though there’s already enough at present to like as he topped out at 91 mph with his fastball. He worked on top well and mixed in a tight slider in the upper-70s as well.

9-Red vs. 10-Royal Game Highlights >>

6/8/2019 2:32:41 PM

Payton Allen (2021 SS, Rogers, AR) has a smooth stroke with a compact swing and the hands work well into the swing. He drove an outside fastball to right for a line drive single. His speed stood out with two stolen bases and forced a bad throw to score a run.

Tommy Hawke (2021 MIF, Oak Island, NC) has a loose lefthanded swing and showed the barrel control with a well-placed, hard hit opposite field single. The runner on base stole and he manipulated the barrel to get an easy base hit and he showed off the speed with an infield hit later on.

Bryan Loriga (2021 3B, Hialeah, FL) got an elevated fastball that he crushed deep to the pull side that one hopped the wall. Loriga has excellent strength at contact and hustled around the bases for a triple.

Nicholas Fraginals (2021 RHP, Miramar, FL) has a simple, low effort delivery with a loose arm stroke and a fastball that topped out at 86 mph. His primary secondary pitch was a sinking changeup and he did a good job at competing within the strike zone.

James Wood (2021 OF, Olney, MD) had a very loud double off the wall in right centerfield to show off his big time strength and power. He was well onto his front side but had enough strength and bat speed to pepper a laser off the wall and hustle for a double.

Jorge De Goti (2021 SS, Miami, FL) has a good approach at the plate with a quick compact stroke. He kept his hands inside to drive the ball to left field on a line and bring home a run.
Navy Game Highlights >>

6/8/2019 2:02:31 PM

Christian Little (2021 RHP, St. Louis, MO) showed big stuff with a fastball up to 93 and a curveball that showed plus at 76 mph, still projecting physically while showing athleticism. He is committed to Vanderbilt.

Ryan Spikes (2021 SS, Covington, GA), who is a Tennessee commit, performed very well in workouts this morning and hit a very loud single up the middle in game with athleticism and shows feel for the game.

Christopher Katz (2021 C, Raleigh, NC) looked good in the box working a walk and a very hard line drive single, looking like a middle of the order bat for Wake Forrest in the future.

Grant Cherry (2021 RHP, Vestavia Hills, AL) is uncommitted for now but sat 87-90 mph and was up to 91 with his fastball that showed good downward angle. He mixed in a solid curveball that will continue to get better as he develops.

Parker Ryan (2021 C, Madison, MS) uses a compact swing that produces line drives to all fields and showed it in this game hitting a hard, line drive to centerfield.

Gavin Abrams (2021 2B, Metuchen, NJ) is an uncommitted middle infielder who showed a quick first step and very good lateral range to the middle from the shortstop position able to change arm angles on a firm and accurate throw.

Jaime Ferrer (2021 C, Orlando, FL) looked the part of a high-level catcher in workouts and showed promise in game hitting a long line drive to the left center field gap.

Jack O'Connor (2022 RHP, Arlington, VA), a Virginia commit, is a strong bodied righthander who ran his fastball up to 89 mph with some sinking life to it. He also mixed in a sharp breaking ball in the mid-70s for strikes and projects for more moving forward.

Teams 7-10 BP Highlights >>

6/8/2019 9:44:02 AM

Clint Lasiter (2021 SS, Benton, LA): Lasiter showed consistent barrel skills in his round, doing a nice job of separating and driving through contact, squaring up the ball into the air pull side consistently.

Ryan Spikes (2021 SS, Covington, GA): Spikes has good strength through his lower half and that helps him really drive the ball when he gets his hips through, showing consistent barrel with strength off and high-end bat speed.

4-Gold vs. 6-Gray Highlights >>

6/7/2019 3:50:22 PM

Coulson Buchanan (2021 RHP, Sugar Hill, GA): Buchanan's arm speed, feel for spin, and athleticism all stand out on the mound. He worked up to 88 mph with his fastball, creating plane from a high slot, and mixing in a power breaking ball with good bite and two-plane break. He struck out 3 in 2 innings.

Jonathan Vastine (2021 SS, Bartow, FL): Vastine has excellent athleticism and projection, and the arm speed stands out as well. He worked 86-89 mph with his fastball and mixed in a sharp, bat-missing slider in the mid-70's that he could throw as a chase pitch as well as for strikes.

Easton Swofford (2022 SS, Bee Branch, AR): Swofford's feel for the barrel stood out in BP yesterday and he brought it into gameplay today, pulling his hands in nicely on an 87 mph inner-third fastball and lacing it into center field for a firm single.

2-Maroon vs. 4-Gold Highlights >>

6/7/2019 10:11:18 AM

Carlos Pena (2021 OF, Bayside, NY): Pena has advanced hit-ability with hitter's hands and loose, fast bat. He's got plenty of strength and raw power but has really solid feel for the barrel in game, lining a left-on-left breaking ball back through the middle for a single in his first AB.

Andrew Ronne (2021 RHP, Athens, TN): Ronne has a highly-projectable frame along with plenty of present tools on the mound. He ran his fastball up to 88 mph with some cut, landed a curveball for strikes, showed feel for a changeup, and missed bats with a sharp slider in 2 shutout innings, picking up a pair of strikeouts as well.

James Triantos (2022 SS, McLean, VA): Triantos was excellent in this one, painting 86-89 mph fastballs to both sides of the plate with very good plane and command. His curveball is a weapon of a pitch, thrown in the mid-70's with hammer depth and 12/6 shape. He was in complete command the whole game, striking out 7 in 3 innings of play and wholly dominating.

Anthony Priester (2021 C, Denham Springs, LA): Priester had the big blow of the game, driving a fastball over the head of the center fielder up the RCF gap for a double. He's got plenty of strength and bat speed with even more projection in the power, giving him a well-rounded offensive profile.
Black vs. Columbia Blue >>

6/7/2019 9:59:39 AM

Shea McGahan (2021 C, St. Louis, MO) showed a nice approach at the plate in his first at-bat, spoiling a couple of pitches on the outer half with two strikes before pulling his hands in on an inner half curveball for a double down the left field line.

Joshua Overbeek (2021 3B, Cincinnati, OH) battled at the plate in his first at-bat and ultimately came out ahead, getting the barrel out on a fastball that quickly went over the left-center field fence for a no doubt blast.

Deric Fabian (2021 SS, Ocala, FL) showed off his athleticism defensively at second base, making a couple of impressive plays over the first few innings. The first was a diving play off a deflection of the first baseman’s glove in which he nearly got the runner before showing nice footwork around the second base bag to finish a double play. He also picked up a single through the six-hole.

Jackson Baumeister (2021 C, Jacksonville, FL) continued to impress defensively thanks to a strong throwing arm from behind the plate. In his first at-bat of the game he showed well with the bat, driving a ball to the opposite field gap for a two-base hit.

Sullivan Brackin (2022 RHP, Jacksonville, FL) jumped on the mound and showed off his arm strength, running his fastball up to 89 mph for the best fastball of the game. He did a nice job of filling up the strike zone with the heater, missing bats while mixing in a short slider up to 76 mph. He also showed his two-way potential with a couple of base knocks offensively.

Jackson Mayo (2021 OF, St. Johns, FL) is a young lefthanded bat to follow moving forward as he develops physically though he already shows quick hands with the ability to whip the barrel through the zone just as he did with a hard line drive 1B past the first baseman.

Green vs. Gray Highlights >>

6/7/2019 12:00:00 AM

Cody Howard (2021 RHP, Conroe, TX) came out and filled the strike zone on the mound for Gray, running his fastball up to 89 mph while showing a quick arm and physical projection. He was able to create cut on the pitch at times and showed a short, tight slider with a replicated release.

Kade Grundy (2021 RHP, Somerset, KY) showed impressive arm strength on the mound yesterday and today showed that strength with the bat. In his first trip to the plate he barreled the second pitch he saw, an outer half fastball, to the opposite field gap for a standup triple, showing both extension and strength at the point of contact with quickness on the bases.

Lauden Brooks (2021 SS, Cincinnati, OH) showed well on both sides of the ball as the young Kentucky commit made a nice play on the charge at shortstop, picking the ball mid-stride while throwing a strike across. He followed up the defensive pay with a hard line drive single back up the middle in the next half inning.

Drake Donahoe (2021 RHP, Omaha, NE) has a strong frame and after swinging it well he jumped to his primary position on the mound where he made quick work of his three innings. With a short arm stroke he was able to fill up the strike zone and topped out at 85 mph while mixing both a curveball and changeup throughout.

Jonathan Vastine (2021 SS, Bartow, FL) put a nice swing on the ball during his first at-bat of the game from the left side, spoiling a couple tough pitches before barreling an outer half fastball through the six-hole for a line drive single.

Neither Jonathan Santucci (2021 OF, Leominster, MA) nor Santino Rao (2021 1B, Orlando, FL) are committed yet at this point though that could change pretty quickly. Both are lefthanded bats and though neither actually picked up a base hit, both stung the ball to the opposite field showing hard contact off the barrel and comfort in executing.

2-Maroon vs. 3-Columbia Blue Highlights >>

6/7/2019 12:00:00 AM

Cylis Cox (2021 LHP, Staunton, IL): Cox turned in an excellent performance on the mound in the previous game, then immediately showed off his two-way skills in this one by jumping on a pitch and driving a double up the gap with good carry and jump.

Mason Neville (2022 OF, Las Vegas, NV): Neville's arm talent stands out right away, as he's a lean projectable lefty with a fast, loose arm. He ran his fastball up to 87 mph with flashes of good life and mixed in a very good curveball in the low-70's with good depth. He picked up a pair of strikeouts in 2 innings.

Rob Gordon (2021 SS, Smyrna, GA): Gordon's athleticism and overall twitch standout, both offensively and defensively. He loudly barreled a single, stole 2nd base, then scored early on. Showed really nice hands and range along with a quick release at shortstop as well.

Deric Fabian (2021 SS, Ocala, FL): Hit-ability is a genetic trait amongst the Fabian family, and Deric is no exception, showing advanced feel for the barrel with some extra base impact and quality athleticism running the bases. He doubled down the left field line in his first at-bat.

Luke Heyman (2022 C, Longwood, FL): Heyman only got one inning due to rain but was extremely impressive in that one inning, striking out 2. He's long and lean with a fast arm, working up to 90 mph and pairing with it a projectable slider and quality changeup.

Grant Hussey (2021 1B, Washington, WV): Amongst the stronger players in attendance, Hussey drove a liner double over the right fielder's head for a double. His strength and bat speed are well-advanced beyond his years and he has limitless power potential from the left side of the plate.

Xavier Perez (2022 RHP, Corpus Christi, TX): Perez has excellent feel for pitching with tremendous upside. He worked 84-87 mph with his fastball, sinking it to both sides, and worked in sharp, downer slider with good bite and a fading changeup. He struck out 4 in 2 innings.

Braylon Bishop (2021 OF, Texarkana, AR): Bishop's athleticism, tools, and bat speed all project extremely well and have been on display all event. He absolutely hammered a single pull side in this one, showing off that bat speed, and has rare upside as a player.

Cooper Dossett (2022 OF, Fayetteville, AR): Dossett is an extremely intriguing two-way player, and stood out in a big way on the mound in this one. He's got a lightning-quick arm that produces fastballs up to 91 mph already with good life, showed the ability to land his curve for strikes, and mixed in a solid, fading changeup as well.

Caleb Logerwell (2021 3B, McDonough, GA): Another two-way player with significant upside, Logerwell showed well on the mound here, showing a four-seamer up to 89 mph with good plane, a heavy-sinking two-seamer in the mid-80's, a sharp-breaking slider and a fading changeup. The physicality and arm strength stand out immediately.
Gray vs. Green Highlights >>

6/6/2019 7:25:03 PM

Grant Taylor (2021 RHP, Florence, AL) did an excellent job of filling the strike zone with a firm fastball that sat 87-90 mph and really got on hitters. He creates big extension but the mid-70s slider proved to be a big difference maker as he was able to miss bats with it consistently.

Carson Kelly (2021 RHP, Sanford, NC) was sharp during his outing on the mound, changing his looks by dropping his arm slot while still maintaining mid-80s on his fastball. He topped out at 87 mph from his higher release point and mixed in a nice slider with late tilting life through the zone.

Jonathan Santucci (2021 OF, Leominster, MA) and Harrison Owen (2021 C, Aliso Viejo, CA) got the offense started for the Gray team in the second inning. Santucci did a nice job of back-siding a line drive single through the six-hole before Owen connected for a long double to his pull side to plate a run.

Austin Younce (2021 C, Chesapeake, VA) got an elevated 88 mph fastball up in the zone and he certainly didn’t miss, sending the pitch deep to the left-center field gap for the first extra hit of the game, a triple.

Drake Donahoe (2021 RHP, Omaha, NE) followed Younce with a hard knock of his own, jumping on a slider for a hard line double that cleared the left fielder’s head with big jump off of the barrel.

Brady Garcia (2021 LHP, Spanish Fort, AL) proved to be an uncomfortable look during his time on the mound, missing plenty of bats while filling the strike zone. He worked primarily off of a fastball that topped out at 85 mph and mixed in a breaking ball as well.

Colton Sims (2022 3B, Russellville, AR) made the defensive play of the game with a fully extended dive to his backhand at third base, quickly sprung to his feet and delivered a strike on to first to get the runner by a step.

Rocko Brzezniak (2022 1B, Matawan, NJ) lined a pitch back up the middle after spoiling numerous pitches on the outer half, plating a run for the Gray team while showing the strength in his hands.

Kruise Newman (2021 RHP, Richmond, KY)continued to impress after showing his arm strength from the outfield and taking a loud round of batting practice. On the mound during live actions Newman ran his fastball up to 91 mph, showing a fast arm and a feel for his secondaries.

Lucas Torres (2021 OF, Cayey, PR) showed he wasn’t fazed by big velocity as he turned around a 91 mph fastball to the pull side gap for a standup triple, generating big jump off of his barrel.

Teams 5-6 BP Highlights  >>

6/6/2019 5:24:02 PM

Lauden Brooks (2021 SS, Cincinnati, OH) has a simple and repeatable stroke while working to all fields on a line. There's looseness and bat speed to the swing and made very consistent contact to all fields with intent.

Jayden Melendez (2021 C, Palmetto Bay, FL) has excellent barrel skills with requisite bat speed and carry off the barrel. His hands work very well into the swing with a very balanced and direct approach.

Gavin Baldwin (2021 OF, Nashville, IL) has big juice to the pull side with an easy swing that has pretty good carry off the barrel. His hands launch the ball nicely and the ball jumps off the barrel from a low effort stroke.

Rocko Brzezniak (2022 1B, Matawan, NJ) has excellent bat speed and impact off the barrel. He does a good job at launching the ball with carry and backspin to both sides of the field and power is going to play given the impressive raw bat speed.

Matthew Prevesk (2021 OF, Apopka, FL) got extended out in front consistently with some whip to the barrel and create hard line drives to the pull side. He has a simple swing and works well to the pull side with some leverage.

Jack Holman (2021 C, Wrightwood, CA) is a physical lefthanded bat with strength and balance in the batter's box. He's comfortable and confident with a good amount of line drives to pull and impacts it hard off the barrel.

Kruise Newman (2021 RHP, Richmond, KY) has consistent leverage off the front side with easy bat speed. Has excellent swing plane with a good amount of loft to the barrel to create power to the pull side.

Santino Rao (2021 1B, Orlando, FL) is a strong hitter with loose hands and the ability to create leverage to the pull side. He gets his hands extended and is strong enough to turn the barrel over with impact.

Preston Wright (2021 OF, Mascoutah, IL) has a whippy barrel head with a smooth barrel path throughout. He turns hard over the inside to create leverage while showing some home run power to the pull side.

Josh Pearson (2021 OF, West Monroe, LA) has very advanced bat speed that allows him to create serious impact to the pull side. He rotates and explodes onto the baseball which allows him to high exit velocities off the barrel.

Jonathan Vastine (2021 SS, Bartow, FL) has really good feel for the barrel with fast hands that work well in conjunction with the swing. There's controlled violence to the swing with good leverage and really uses the whole field with intent.

Michael Bello (2021 OF, Oak Ridge, NJ) hit some balls very hard to the pull side with a big stride into contact and uncoils hard onto the baseball. There's tons of strength and carry off the baseball to the pull side.

Cole Russo (2021 3B, Tampa, FL) has an excellent feel for the barrel with good bat speed and extension out in front. He uses the whole field and the swing plane projects for some serious power at maturity.

Aaron Downs (2021 SS, Pella, IA) is an extremely physical hitter with lots of lift and home run power to the pull side. The bat speed is loud as is the contact off the barrel and he projects to hit for some serious power.

Travis Sanders (2022 SS, Copperas Cove, TX) has some whip to his hands and showed an easy swing with consistent line drive contact. He wore out both sides of the field with hard hit and well struck line drives.

Lucas Torres (2021 OF, Cayey, PR) has big raw power and the ball absolutely flies to the pull side. He strides hard and leverages well onto the baseball to create big carry off the barrel.

Drake Donahoe (2021 RHP, Omaha, NE) has a loose and easy swing that generates a good amount of strength off the barrel. He went yard to the pull side with a high launch and hit a number of well-struck fly balls to pull.

Daylan Pena (2021 1B, Corpus Christi, TX) turns the barrel over with intent to the pull side and has fluidity to the stroke. When he separates he can do some damage to the baseball over the inside and hit a long home run during the round.

Austin Younce (2021 C, Chesapeake, VA) is a strong hitter with bat speed and strength that both project. He drives the ball up the middle nicely and the home run power will continue to show.
Black vs. Maroon Highlights >>

6/6/2019 3:44:56 PM

Jace Jones (2021 RHP, Ft Myers, FL) is an interesting and projectable righthander who showed plenty to like present day. With a quick and short arm action he ran his fastball up to 87 mph with sinking life, inducing weak ground ball contact while showing a curveball with 11-5 shape at 72 mph.

Philip Abner (2021 LHP, Charlotte, NC) came out and countered Jones with an impressive arsenal of his own as the physically built lefthander ran his fastball up to 92 mph. He creates tough angle on his fastball and mixed in a hard slider as well while living down in the zone throughout.

Eduardo Garza (2021 3B, Rio Grande City, TX) got the offense started for the Maroon team, pulling his hands in to line a single over the head of the shortstop before coming around to score the first run of the game. Later in the game he lined another single, this time up the middle to plate another run.

Heriberto Emmanuel Garza (2021 C, Rio Grande, TX) had a nice day of his own, going 1-for-2 with a hard line drive single, twice finding the barrel while handling his pitchers well behind the plate with sound receiving skills.

Black pulled even quickly though as Matthew Russo (2021 3B, Madisonville, LA) took an 84 mph fastball over the 330’ mark down the right field line for a no doubt solo home run that was stuck well off the barrel.

Brogan Napier (2021 3B, Saint Augustine, FL) showed the juice in his righthanded swing during the first at-bat of the day, taking a ball to deep center field for a three base hit which plated three runs and showed plenty of jump off the barrel.

Brodie Chestnutt (2021 RHP, Fitzgerald, GA) was impressive in his three innings of work, running his fastball up to 91 mph while working comfortably in the upper-80s. He did a nice job of sinking the ball to induce weak contact and showed tight rotation to his slider up to 78 mph with short tilt.

Jackson Baumeister (2021 C, Jacksonville, FL) showed off his arm strength all over the field, first by throwing out a runner at third base by a couple of steps before delivery an absolute strike to home plate from left field on a bang-bang play. In his second at-bat of the game he pulled his hands in on a fastball and shot a single past the shortstop.

Kendall Diggs (2021 3B, Olathe, KS) did a nice job of going with an elevated 88 mph fastball on the outer half down the opposite field for a double the half inning after starting a 5-4-3 double play prior with a diving stop to his left.

Seth Carter (2021 RHP, Ocean Springs, MS) and Seaver Sheets (2021 SS, Monroe, LA) closed out the game for either of their teams, respectively. Carter, a primary righthanded pitcher, was able to make for some uncomfortable at-bats running his fastball up to 88 mph while Sheet showed a quick arm of his own, up to 89 mph.

3-Columbia vs. 4-Gold Highlights >>

6/6/2019 3:24:10 PM

Ryan Higgins (2021 RHP, New Canaan, CT): Higgins' athleticism and arm speed stand out in a big way, as he ran his fastball up to 90 mph with plus sink at times. The arm speed and physicality both project extremely well, and he shows the ability to land a tight breaking ball for strikes as well. He scattered his command but struck out 8 as well, dominating when in the zone.

Owen Flynn (2021 RHP, Windermere, FL): Flynn is a very lean, long-limbed righthander with plenty of upside. He worked 84-88 mph with his fastball and threw a lot of strikes with, and did a very nice job mixing in an 11/5 curveball with good shape as well as promising feel for his changeup. He struck out 4 in 3 innings.

Devin Futrell (2021 LHP, Pembroke Pines, FL): Amongst the most projectable arms in the class, Futrell continues to gain strength and improve while maintaining his pitchability and feel. He worked 83-86 mph in this one with heavy life and outstanding feel for his changeup as well as continually improving the power and bite on his curveball. He struck out 4 in his outing and his upside is vast.

Sal Stewart (2022 3B, Miami, FL): Stewart showed his usual barrel control and strength in this one, waiting back on a changeup over the outer and edge and driving the ball up the opposite field gap for a double.

James Triantos (2022 SS, McLean, VA): Triantos showed consistent barrel skills in this one, handling the bat well, working counts, and doing an excellent job of hitting the ball hard in his AB's, picking up a base hit as well as a hard-barreled low liner to short.

Dominic Scavone (2021 3B, Orlando, FL): Scavone really drove the ball to dead center in his first AB, all the way to the warning track on a line that was ran down by the center fielder, and then beating out an infield single to shortstop in his second AB.

Adam Ebling (2021 SS, St Louis, MO): Ebling picked up a pair of hits, both to the opposite field on fastballs away. One was a liner single and the other was a launched triple up the RCF gap, showing off both hit-ability and power in those two swings alone.

Jackson Jobe (2021 SS, Oklahoma City, OK): Jobe got on the mound and showed off intriguing upside, running his fastball up to 88 mph with lightning-fast arm speed and a hellacious slider when he let it rip. He struck out 5 in his time on the mound.
Teams 1-4 BP Highlights >>

6/6/2019 12:44:36 PM

Michael Conder (2021 OF, Bainbridge, GA): Conder showed consistently fast, strong hands upon launch, doing a nice job of finding the barrel consistently and with authority, projecting well for power as his body projects.

Kurtis Reid (2021 SS, Hamilton, OH): Reid has a seriously loose swing with plenty of bat speed and present power, getting the barrel out front consistently and impacting the ball loudly. He has extremely high offensive upside.

Connor Simon (2021 SS, Mandeville, LA): Simon has an extremely fast bat, showing a whole-field approach with impact off the barrel now as well as lots of projection for serious power as he continues to grow

Brogan Napier (2021 3B, Saint Augustine, FL): Napier showed some of the better raw power of this section of teams, really driving the ball into the air to the pullside with impressive jump and carry when squared up.

Wyatt Campbell (2021 3B, Ocala, FL): Campbell's bat speed jumped out right away and he consistently drove the ball into the air with big carry off the barrel and highly projectable power. His round stood out in every way.

Tanner Zellem (2022 3B, Fleming Island, FL): Zellum showed off huge raw power with plenty of bat speed and strength, gets the barrel moving out front and drives it into the air with easy HR carry to the pullside.

Sullivan Brackin (2022 RHP, Jacksonville, FL): Brackin showed a loose, whippy swing from the left side with plenty of bat speed that resulted in driven liners to the pullside. His body projects extremely well, giving him a high end power ceiling.

Seaver Sheets (2021 SS, Monroe, LA): Sheets showed a quick, loose stroke with consistent balance in his round, finding the barrel on every pitch and doing a great job of showing his high-level contact skills.

Philip Abner (2021 LHP, Charlotte, NC): The ball makes a different sound off of Abner's barrel, leveraging the ball into the air with outstanding jump off the barrel and lefthanded raw power.

Treyson Hughes (2021 OF, Valdosta, GA): Hughes projects really well physically and has an outstanding swing already, with loose wrists and consistent firm barrel on a line. He projects well for hit and power long term.

Braylon Bishop (2021 OF, Texarkana, AR): Bishop has loud, impactful bat speed with unreal hand speed, showing consistently hard barrel into the air. Once he adjusted his plane, he drove the ball deep with legitimate HR power and projection for more.

Mason Neville (2022 OF, Las Vegas, NV): Neville has excellent projection physically, and when paired with his already-quick bat and strong barrel, he projects really well moving forward both for hit and power tools.

Carlos Pena (2021 OF, Bayside, NY): Pena has advanced physicality and strength and that manifests itself into significant lefthanded raw power when he finds the barrel, capable of easily driving the ball out of the ballpark pull side.

Heriberto Emmanuel Garza (2021 C, Rio Grande, TX): Garza showed a loose, easy swing from both sides of the plate with a little more leverage and raw pop from the right side. He projects really well for power from both sides as he gets stronger.

Rob Gordon (2021 SS, Smyrna, GA): Gordon showed a quick, twitchy swing from the right side with plenty of bat speed and impact off the barrel. He projects well for pop as he continues to gain strength given his present bat speed.

Chase Jans (2021 OF, Overland Park, KS): Jans seemingly got the barrel on everything in his round, generating good leverage off of his front side and driving the ball on a firm line into the air with good jump and carry.

Murphy Brooks (2022 RHP, Cypress, TX): Brooks has advanced size and physicality and the strength shows up in his swing, doing a nice job of impacting of the ball on a line with jump off the barrel and easy carry.

Sammy Contacos (2021 C, Irwin, PA): Contacos shows a loose, whippy swing with a whole-field approach, doing a nice job working firm liners to both halves of the outfield and projecting well for power given his natural loft.

Andrew Burns (2022 3B, Albertville, AL): Burns consistently gets his lower half involved and drives through contact, creating excellent strength and bat speed, which he used to drive the baseball into the air with authority on nearly every swing.

Luke Heyman (2022 C, Longwood, FL): Heyman has real power right now and projects for even more as he continues to grow, driving the ball into the air pull side with carry and HR pop.

Caleb Logerwell (2021 3B, McDonough, GA): Logerwell's lower half and hands work very well in his swing and he's extremely accurate with the barrel, squaring up the ball consistently and projecting for big time pop.

Grant Strong (2021 OF, Overland Park, KS): Strong gets the barrel out on time consistently and really impacts it, showing the ability to drive the baseball on an extremely-well struck line on essentially every BP swing he took.

Grant Hussey (2021 1B, Washington, WV): Hussey has outstanding size and strength and pairs impact bat speed with it, driving the ball pull side with both good feel to hit as well as power.

Ricky Reeth (2021 OF, Windermere, FL): Reeth showed quality whip to his hands and overall bat speed, doing a great job of getting the barrel out front and driving the ball on a line.

Easton Swofford (2022 SS, Bee Branch, AR): Swofford really controls the barrel well and makes consistent, barreled contact to all fields on a line, projecting really well in terms of his hit tool.

Corey Robinson (2021 OF, Deland, FL): Robinson showed a loose, easy swing with an athletic, repeatable mechanical profile. He consistently found the barrel regardless of pitch location with good hands.

Dominic Scavone (2021 3B, Orlando, FL): Scavone has plenty of present pull side pop and bat speed, doing a nice job of driving the ball into the air with authority and projecting for even more power.

Sal Stewart (2022 3B, Miami, FL): Stewart's strength, bat speed, and feel for the barrel are all advanced and all project really well, giving him the upside of a truly impactful offensive force.

Derek Bender (2021 C, Latham, NY: Bender did a great job peppering the pull side fence with well-struck liners, showing off impact bat speed with leverage and projectable pop.
