Teams 1-6 BP Highlights >>

8/11/2018 12:00:00 AM

Ivan Zambrano (2020 3B, Doral, FL) showed a fairly consistent and repeatable swing to go along with a solid line drive swing plane. HE got his hands through the zone well with quickness to show the compact stroke that worked on a line to all fields.

Channing Young (2019 RHP, Clearwater, FL) put on display some of the biggest raw power of the session with a deep home run way past left field. Young leverages to the pull side with strength finishes well through contact and extension.

Aiden Mastantuno (2021 LHP, Fleming Island, FL) and his long, lean frame allow for him to generate natural leverage to pull the ball and gets his loose hands through well. Mastantuno has a lot of projectable power on the frame with room to fill out.

Jackson Unice (2021 1B, Tarpon Springs, FL) has very quick hands throughout a controlled, compact bat path. The direct swing plays dividends for the young Unice and the physicality plays nicely as strength and power will continue to come for the young righthanded hitter.

Jorel Ortega (2019 SS, Lake Worth, FL) has enjoyed a very good event thus far, and that included showing the raw bat speed and ability to whip the barrel in BP. The components and ingredients are there and the power already shows with consistently backspun barrels.

Drake Chamberlin (2019 SS, Palm City, FL) is very comfortable in the batter's box with good rhythm and looseness to the overall stroke. He can leverage the ball well to pull and drives the ball with backspin and carry when connecting out in front.

Miguel Larreal (2019 2B, Orlando, FL) has impressed throughout the day, including a lot of intriguing tools offensively. There is good balance, bat speed, and leverage when out in front as the ball jumps well off the barrel with consistent contact to pull.

Adriel Mendoza (2020 OF, Cidra, PR) swings it well from both sides of the plate including very quick hands on either side of the dish. The bat speed is a hair better from the left side but the bat to ball skills are there to succeed from either side.

Satchell Norman (2021 C, Sarasota, FL) is physically advanced for his age, and showed the ability to whip the barrel head for power to the pull side. The bat speed and feel for the barrel are both impressive and has all the ingredients for a future power bat.

Jose Fulgencio (2019 SS, Apopka, FL) showed flashes of what makes the offensive tools enticing including raw bat speed while turning over the inside well for some power. The ball carries well and can get out in a hurrt when working to pull.

Miguel Melendez (2019 2B, Florida, PR) displayed advanced bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate, including good balance and consistent line drive skills. He utilizes all fields well in the truest sense and manipulates the barrel head nicely.

Brandon Incardona (2019 2B, Tampa, FL) was consistently getting extended with the barrel head of the bat showing elasticity and fluidity to the swing path. He drives his weight off the backside nicely and utilizes his lower half properly through extension.

Roberto Lopez (2020 OF, Miramar, FL) has present physicality and a balanced swing overall. He looks to loft the ball into the air and does a good job impacting the ball with strength and showing a very quick trigger into the swing.

Andres Mendez (2019 3B, Hialeah, FL) has a physical and balanced approach at the plate with the ability to impact the ball hard on a gap-to-gap basis. He torques through the ball nicely and does a good job at getting on plane.

Jackson Mayo (2021 OF, St. Johns, FL) shows good bat speed with fluidity to the swing path. Maintains the barrel nicely through the hitting zone and the looseness and speed of the hands all bode well going forward for the lefthanded hitter.

Corbin Grantham (2020 OF, Gainesville, FL) impressed in nearly all facets of the game on Saturday and that included offensively as well. The physicality and bat speed both work nicely into the offensive profile, while the swing plane is compact and easy to repeat.

Carter Geier (2020 SS, Clermont, FL) showed good rhythm and fluidity to the righthanded swing with the consistent ability to impact the ball well to all fields off the barrel. Geier has a smooth, easy, and repeatable swing and the power should only continue to improve with additional strength.
