Batting Practice Highlights >>

4/21/2018 5:05:10 PM

Tate Jacobsen (2022 SS, Shawnee, KS), a primary shortstop, impressed with his lefthanded stroke as he showed present bat speed as well as life off the barrel. He worked to all parts of the field and showed his best contact to this pull side with present quickness to his hands.

Israel Delgado (2022 MIF, Chicago Heights, IL) generated some of the best bat speed we saw in batting practice with a fluid path and solid intent in his swing. His physical strength plays well as he showed nice jump off the barrel, especially to right field when he was able to get his hands extended out front.

Gavin Kilen (2022 SS, Milton, WI) showed a nice handle for the barrel from the left side of the plate throughout his round of batting practice and it’s something he continued to show in his live reps. With a patient approach Kilen worked all parts of the field with balance and projects nicely as he continues to add strength.

Quentin Keene (2022 OF, Waunakee, WI) did a nice job of staying balanced with his swing while remaining short and direct to the ball with his righthanded swing. As he found his swing plane he began to generate back spun, line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Jack Scheri (2022 SS, Peru, IL) shows a full swing path from the right side of the plate and displays nice quickness to his hands with his swing. He did a nice job of getting his front foot down on time and as a result with allowed for consistent and hard line drive contact off the barrel.

A lefthanded hitter, Tyson Gomm (2021 C, Mississauga, ON) creates nice bat speed through the zone and has tools to project moving forward. When on time with his shift he showed nice carry to the opposite field with jump off the barrel.

Keegan Knutson (2022 SS, Janesville, WI) shows a simple swing at the plate with an overall looseness to his path and projects with additional momentum at the start of his swing. With a linear path he worked the middle of the field, finding the barrel with a full path through the zone.

Alex Stanwich (2022 RHP, Tinley Park, IL) begins with a tall stance in the righthanded batter’s box and does a nice job of staying short to the ball with present bat speed. Stanwich remains short to the ball with his swing and shows jump coming off when squared.

Luke Adams (2022 SS, Hinsdale, IL) worked the opposite field throughout his round, showing some strength he was able to generate with his 6-foot-2 frame.  He stays short to the ball with his path and linear with his plane, showing backspin to the middle of the field when squared.

Throws strikes and forces weak contact. Able to throw to the inner half against righties and maintains arm speed on changeup

Griffin Wolf (2022 1B, Carmel, IN) Missed a lot of barrels and filled the zone. Fastball showed some cutting action in the upper 60's. Has feel for curveball. Struck out two hitters over two innings pitched. Also collected a couple of hits. A single into left field and an RBI ground ball past the second baseman. Showed good feel for the barrel.

Ryan Miller (2022 RHP, Chagrin Falls, OH) Threw three innings and only allowed a couple of hits while striking out two. Has downhill plane while throwing the ball to both sides of the plate with life. Commands the changeup well. Attacks the zone early with fastball at 79

Tyson Gomm (2021 C, Mississauga, ON) Had a hart hit line drive back up the middle. Good barrel control able to drive a ball on the inner half back towards the middle of the field.
