White vs. Green Highlights >>

2/18/2018 2:34:39 PM

Dillon Kark (2019 SS, Commerce Township, MI) ran his fastball up to 86 in the second game of White's double header as well as hit a ball off of the roof of the dome that would have been a sure home run if playing outdoors. Kark has strength in his swing to the point of contact with raw bat speed that resulted in a 2-2 day.

Liam Pollock (2020 OF, Southgate, MI) dropped the barrel on an outer half fastball for a double to deep center field. Pollock finished the day 2-2 with some interesting tools to watch at the plate.

Jacob Boelkens (2019 OF, Millbury, OH) led off the top of the sixth with a loud double to deep center field. Boelkens has power in his swing with the ability to drive the ball.

Logan Bell (2019 RHP, Lisbon, OH) followed up Boelkens' double to deep center with a double to deep center of his own. Bell has a solid build with the ability to connect the barrel to the baseball.

Andre Spivey (2020 OF, Detroit, MI) made a full extension catch to rob a hit to left field. Spivey has good instincts in the outfield with athleticism and a projectable frame.

Spencer Brown (2019 1B, Feura Bush, NY) made solid contact to to the pull side gap for a single and would-be double had the game not been indoors. Brown has bat speed in his swing with some pop when on time.

Cameron Githens (2019 OF, Perrysburg, OH) connected on a well struck ball to right field. The ball likely would have been a double without the roof being in play, but Githens shows a raw hit tool with present strength.
Sunday Batting Practice Highlights >>

2/18/2018 12:40:08 PM

Derrick Dawson (2020 C, Mishawaka, IN) is a very strong left handed hitter with a 6-0/205 frame.  He is a very aggressive hitter who is looking to lift and drive the ball and squared it up very well considering how hard he swings it, especially on the two rockets he lined off the back wall of the 380 foot dome.

Dillon Kark (2019 SS, Commerce Township, MI) continued his impressive showing from drills by showing perhaps the best raw bat speed of the day at the plate.  The Michigan State commits load is a bit complicated but he timed up quickly and crushed some balls with a lofted and strong swing.

Alex Mooney (2021 SS, Rochester Hills, MI) is Dillon Kark's freshman teammate at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep and is already a Duke commit.  He has a very projectable 6-1/160 body and a loose swing with good hand quickness and plenty of developing bat speed.

Logan Bell (2019 RHP, Lisbon, OH) is a primary pitcher but he has good bat speed from a front side approach and made consistent hard middle of the field contact before flashing some lift late.

Kai St Germaine (2019 RHP, Plymouth, MI) is another primary pitcher with hitting tools and plenty of raw bat speed.  He has big launch angle in his swing and will drive mistakes over the plate with authority.

Jake Margolick (2020 RHP, Highland Park, IL) continues the primary pitcher trend with a very simple and repeatable line drive approach that consistently squared up the ball to all fields.  He'll hit for a high average now with some gap power when he adds strength.

Jack O'Brien (2019 C, Shelby Township, MI) has a strong 6-0/186 build and a simple and repeatable right handed swing approach.  He squared the ball up solidly to the middle of the field with good loud jump off the barrel.

Braden Nawrocki (2019 C, Grand Rapids, MI) has a short and strong swing from an open left handed stance.  He made his best contact when working up the middle and to the pull side with hard line drive contact.

Chandler Goodwin (2019 1B, Fairchance, PA) has a nice 6-2/185 build and a short and crisp right handed swing from a spread stance.  It's a high average approach now with the potential to develop some power with a small adjustment in his swing plane.
Gray vs. White Highlights >>

2/18/2018 12:04:27 PM

Logan Bell (2019 RHP, Lisbon, OH) showed tools both on the mound and at the plate in Sunday's ball game. Bell worked a three pitch mix up to 85 mph with his fastball and a good changeup and slider to keep hitters off balance in route to three scoreless frames and five strikeouts. He also struck a hard line drive single to pull side.

Tyler Kostora (2023 C, Westland, MI) has a young and compact build, but the barrel skills Kostora possesses are surely advanced. The Michigan native finished the day going 1-2 squaring up each ball he put into play.

Jacob Boelkens (2019 OF, Millbury, OH) showed a nice piece of hitting driving a curveball to the opposite field for an RBI base knock. Boelkens let the ball travel before squaring the ball up to right field. The righthanded hitter finished the day 1-2 with a pair of stolen bases.

Dillon Kark (2019 SS, Commerce Township, MI) controlled the barrel well with good present bat speed. Kark squared up a single to the middle of the field as well as stole a base in the game.

Mason Thomas (2020 LHP, Fishers, IN) worked three innings of scoreless baseball with seven strikeouts. The southpaw's arm action is compact, but the ball is hidden pretty well. He topped out at 83 mph and mixed a solid slider in the mid-70s.

Harrison Jackson (2019 SS, Millbury, OH) put the ball into play to center field for a base hit and stretched into a double with good hustle around the first base bag. The very next pitch he stole third base without a throw displaying impact speed.

Jack O'Brien (2019 C, Shelby Township, MI) drove an opposite field RBI double in his last at-bat of the game. He also stole a base in the game showcasing good speed.

Grey vs. Green Highlights >>

2/18/2018 3:57:43 PM

Kai St Germaine (2019 RHP, Plymouth, MI): the physical and projectable St. Germaine showed well on the mound, working 80-84 with his fastball, also working in a good changeup and projectable breaking ball. He worked down in the zone and was overpowering with that fastball.

Harrison Jackson (2019 SS, Millbury, OH): Jackson showed some of the better bat speed of the event in game action, consistently finding the barrel in an authoritative manner for extra bases and then showing off his good speed around the bases, getting himself in scoring position with ease.

Tyler Solomon (2021 LHP, Clinton Twp, MI): Solomon showed an easy delivery with good command and repeatability, consistently pounding the zone and working to both sides of the plate. He kept hitters off balance by mixing and matching 3 pitches, comfortable pitching backwards, and really showing good curveball feel.

Braden Nawrocki (2019 C, Grand Rapids, MI): Nawrocki showed very good feel to hit in this game, employing a whole-field approach with very good bat speed and the ability to handle the barrel, making consistently hard contact, even his outs were hit hard, and he showed off good speed on the bases as well.

Jack O'Brien (2019 C, Shelby Township, MI): O'Brien showed off good hands into his swing with strength as well, turning the barrel out front with authority and driving the ball down the line for a double in his first at bat.

Black vs. Cardinal Highlights >>

2/17/2018 4:30:31 PM

Dominic Hann (2020 RHP, Washington, MI): The physical 2020 showed a loose, easy arm stroke with a fastball that worked 80-85 mph, and he complemented it with a big, deep 12/6-shaped breaking ball, commanding both with ease and pounding the zone.

Brock Boynton (2019 OF, Mishawaka, IN): Boynton went 2-2 in his two AB's today, showing a compact and direct path to the ball with a line drive swing plane and good bat speed. He shows good extra base pop with overall projectable power.

Leighton Battles (2019 C, Norwalk, OH): Battles made consistently solid contact with a whole-field approach and good plate coverage to the stroke, making hard contact in every AB, including his outs.

Nathan Rose (2019 SS, Shaker Heights, OH): Rose had one of the best overall events from start to finish, and he finished on a high note, consistently putting the barrel on the ball firmly and showing the ability to work to all fields with authority.

Adam Folk (2020 OF, Munroe Falls, OH): Folk showed off some extra base pop, jumping a double into the right center field gap with good carry and jump off the barrel into the gaps.

Black vs. Gold Highlights >>

2/17/2018 2:33:18 PM

Blake Mahmood (2020 RHP, Eden Prairie, MN): Projectable frame and arm stroke with good looseness, showed sinking fastball in the 80-85 mph and also flashed cutter at 80-81 with good action to it, attacked hitters and worked quickly, did a very good job of getting swings and misses with fastball, also broke two bats with the cutter.

Eric Lucarelli (2020 OF, Temperance, MI): Lucarelli showed real bat speed on a nicely-lofted path, lining a shot to center field that resulted in a triple. He's a good runner once underway and really shows nice speed going from 1st to 3rd.

Mario Cuevas (2020 OF, Stony Point, NY): Cuevas showed good ability to handle the barrel and move it around the zone, and then wreaked havoc once on the base paths, picking up a couple steals and showing very good jumps overall with good speed.

Jackson Hall (2019 SS, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI): Hall went 2-2 in this game, picking up a pair of singles with good linear jump off the barrel and good whole-field approach. He also collected an RBI and a stolen base in the process.

Jaden Henline (2020 RHP, New Cumberland, PA): Henline was good on the mound, throwing 2 scoreless innings and racking up 4 strikeouts while allowing only a single baserunner via a base hit. He worked in the 79-83 mph range for the most part with his fastball, peaking at 85 mph once, and showed good feel for his curveball.

Garrett Slippy (2020 C, Kent, OH): Slippy picked up a base hit in his lone at bat in the game, showing very nice present bat speed that plays in game, covering the plate well and driving the ball the opposite way with authority.

Dawson Delventhal (2019 C, Walbridge, OH): Delventhal picked up one of the few extra base hits of the day, driving a well-struck double the opposite way and showing solid athleticism moving around the bag.

2/17/2018 12:42:57 PM

Nathan Rose (2019 SS, Shaker Heights, OH) has an athletic and projectable build and a short and quick right handed swing that produced some of the best and most consistent line drive contact of the batting practice.  He worked it mid field to right centerfield.

Joey Cammarata Jr (2019 SS, Macomb, MI) can definitely add some weight to his 5-foot-9, 150-pound build but he has some hidden strength in his hands and good quickness in his swing.  He squared it up solidly from mid field to the pull side.

Kyle Kline (2020 SS, Osceola, IN) has a very projectable 6-foot, 150-pound build and good overall athleticism.  He takes an aggressive cut and generates good bat speed while staying on the ball for a long time.  He's going to keep improving as he adds strength and physical maturity.

Brian Martin (2018 OF, Westland, MI) is one of the strongest players at the showcase and that translates to big raw power when he squares the ball up.  Better direction to contact would give him even more bat speed and more consistency.

Brock Boynton (2019 OF, Mishawaka, IN) is a left handed hitter with an aggressive approach and good bat speed.  He hit line drives to all fields and showed his strength with the way the ball came off the barrel.

Jake Zeeb (2020 OF, Commerce Township, MI) has a projectable 6-foot-1, 160-pound build and a long and loose swing that produces good bat speed with the promise of more in the future.  He went gap to gap with carrying line drives and finished strong with his best swings.

Jaden Henline (2020 RHP, New Cumberland, PA) is a primary pitcher but he has solid hitting tools, with quick hands and a short high average swing that owned the middle of the field.

Aaron Dolney (2019 C, Plymouth, MI) has an impressive 6-foot-3, 205-pound build and big strength in his left handed swing.  The Nebraska commit's best swings are when he stays back and drives the ball to the middle of the field

Nicholas Hartley (2019 C, Macomb, MI) is another strongly built catcher with a loose and strong swing and plenty of right handed bat speed.  The ball jumps off his barrel with authority.
Cardinal vs. Gold Highlights >>

2/17/2018 12:23:23 PM

Tyler Rigot (2019 LHP, Weddington, NC) worked 3 innings while peaking at 84 mph allowing just one hit and striking out 7. Rigot has an explosive delivery with plenty of angle and a compact arm action. The junior filled up the zone with a three pitch mix that included two varying breaking balls.

Brian Martin (2018 OF, Westland, MI) showcased tools both at the plate and on the mound in game. Martin started off his day with a single down the pull side line showing good plate coverage and bat speed. He later came in for a relief appearance on the mound sitting 84-87 with good life and command, and also worked in a hammer slider with severe late tilt that elicited swings and misses.

Aaron Dolney (2019 C, Plymouth, MI): Dolney came on in relief to close out the game and showed a power arm, working in the mid-80's consistently and topping at 87 mph. He generates very good late life on the pitch through the zone, and demonstrated the ability to throw his curveball for strikes at times as well.
