Batting Practice Highlights Day 1 >>

10/28/2017 12:00:00 AM

Kevin Kilpatrick (2019 OF, Stockbridge, GA) had a nice showing in his round of batting practice showing some strength when connecting to the ball. He had a long home run in his round to pull side showing raw power.

Silas Butler (2018 OF, Locust Grove, GA) showed good bat speed and a short and direct path to the ball. He hits the ball out in front with quick hands. He squared a ball up for an easy line drive off of the pull side fence displaying great bat speed.

Haiden Hunt (2019 OF, Lexington, KY) has a short path to the baseball and the ball comes off of the barrel well. He put many good swings on balls that resulted in good back spin down on the baseball.

Colton Byars (2018 C, Simpsonville, SC) had one of the more impressive rounds on the day. He showed power to both gaps with consistent hard contact. Byars has a loose swing with loud barrel to ball skills.

Ali LaPread (2018 SS, Peachtree Corners, GA) has some really good bat speed in his loose swing. The ball comes off of the barrel well with repeatedly loud contact to all parts of the field.

South Sanders (2018 IF, Tupelo, MS) shows an easy and athletic swing to all fields. He has a small leg kick in his swing that generates solid bat speed to the point of contact.

Greyson Thornton (2019 1B, Muscle Shoals, AL) has present tools with the bat. There is obvious bat speed and leverage in his swing. He looks to lift the ball to the pull side for power that is potentially there when on time to the ball.

Patrick Romeri (2019 OF, Sarasota, FL) hit a home run in his batting practice round. Romeri is a pull hitter with some pop in his bat. He consistently hit the ball hard all round long with bat speed present.

James Kobylt (2019 3B, Los Angeles, CA) made consistent hard contact throughout his round of batting practice. The righthanded hitter lifted a home run to left-center field as well. There is leverage in his swing with good bat speed.

Mark Kattula (2020 3B, Sterling Heights, MI) made loud and hard contact all round long. Kattula is quick to the ball and the baseball jumps well off of his barrel. He has a leg kick, that when down on time, has power potentially present.

Ryan Santos (2018 OF, Mississauga, ON) has a lean and athletic build with decent bat speed in his swing. He showcased his loud barrel skills with a home run that jumped off of his bat to the pull side gap.

Payton Smith (2019 C, Topeka, KS) showed some of the biggest power on the day with a long home run to the pull side gap. The righthanded hitter has present strength in his frame with big bat speed leading to loud contact.

Justin Kirby (2018 OF, Alpharetta, GA) displayed the ability to hit the ball to both outfield gaps with solid barrel skills. Kirby has an easy swing with potential power in his bat.
