2023 Chicago Indoor Showcase (01/16/2023 - 01/16/2023)

Batting Practice Highlights >>

1/17/2023 3:30:33 PM

Timothy Boston (2026 OF, Lees Summit, MO) creates separation and has quick hands at the plate, with an ability to match plane and spray hard liners.

Dasaan Lee (2024 C, Monee, IL) has some of the best power of the event and was putting his strength and bat speed combo on display, hitting rockets all over the cage. He coils and uncoils well and on time, with big results.

Matthew Saliers (2027 RHP, Chicago, IL) really stood out for a '27 in his round, rotating well and consistently getting the barrel out front with leverage and some strength at impact, hitting the ball hard with consistency.

Gael Urbieta (2025 C, Chicago, IL) has excellent strength and rotates really well, getting the barrel out front with lift and speed, taking a very loud round of BP with several shots that likely would have left the yard had this event been outdoors.

Wilson Wemhoff (2025 OF, Pingree Grove, IL) creates very good rotational acceleration and gets the barrel into a good spot, with leverage off of his front side and that bat speed + strength combo resulting in loud contact.

Brady Gilroy (2024 OF, Elgin, IL) has a twitchy profile overall with a twitchy swing, quick and direct with a clean path and good bat speed overall, consistently hitting hard liners to all fields.

Aadden Guerrero (2025 SS, Lagrange, IL) has good size with present tools, shifting really well into his swing and generating good torque with subsequent bat speed and barrel behavior, showing a lot to like about his projection overall.

Tyler Peller (2024 OF, Saint John, IN) has good present strength and it shows up in his swing, creating good torque and allowing his barrel to be strong at impact, driving the ball all over with some consistency.

Gavin Triezenberg (2025 SS, Palos Heights, IL) is a big, physical righthanded hitter with present strength and big leverage, showing some of the best pure power of the event, especially to his pull-side when he's on time and out front.

Derrick Holmes (2025 SS, South Holland, IL) has a simple and quick stroke that he executes and repeats well, generating very good bat speed with fast hands and strength out front, showing flashes of really hard contact.

Andrew Lim (2025 OF, Skokie, IL) crouches deep into his swing but does a good job of matching barrel plane and has present bat speed, showing the ability to really drive the ball back through the middle.

Chase Petersen (2025 OF, Northbrook, IL) has some of the best raw bat speed of the event and showed the ability to make consistently hard contact during BP, with rising liner rockets towards both gaps and good projection.

Enzo Infelise (2025 C, New Lenox, IL) has tremendous power in his righthanded bat, swinging it extremely hard with intent to do damage and showing the ability to lift and separate with huge power upside.

Keenan Krysh (2025 C, Trout Valley, IL) stays connected well through his swing and creates good bat speed, staying on plane well and accelerating through contact, showing good ability to make hard contact to all fields.

Brad Lins (2023 SS, Elburn, IL) has twitch and suddenness to his swing, showing bat speed and strength which combine to give him impressive jump off the barrel, working towards both gaps with authority.

Jorge Matos Jr. (2025 OF, Chicago, IL) turns the barrel tight and keeps it on plane well, consistently repeating his swing mechanics and doing a nice job of making barreled contact throughout his round.

Brandon Thomsen (2026 C, Rolling Meadows, IL) took an impressive round as a current freshman, showing bat speed and a willingness to get the barrel out front, peppering the back of the cage with hard liners and having a general hitterish look.

Royal vs White Game Highlights >>

1/16/2023 10:48:12 PM

Brad Lins (2023 SS, Elburn, IL) flashed some two-way potential in this one, getting things done on the mound and at the plate. On the bump, ran his fastball up to 84 mph and showed quality arm speed. He is able to spin the ball very well, most notably with his slider, which clocked in at over 2200 RPMs and had hard bite to the glove side. With the bat, he picked up a hard-hit line drive into left-field.

Beni Espinosa (2025 MIF, Chicago, IL) was seeing the ball extremely well today, as he collected two, well-struck barrels. His first was a sharply hit ground ball up the middle, and his second was a line drive to the pull side. Espinosa proved to be able to stay on time with the fastball and not miss it when he got his pitch. He showed good balance within his swing and he delivered the barrel out front consistently.

Michael Pasquesi (2024 RHP, Highland Park, IL) was impressive during his outing on the mound for Team Royal. The uncommitted right-hander topped out at 85 mph and flashed a sharp curveball with legit swing and miss traits. He works quickly and confidently, not afraid to attack hitters and get in on the hands with his fastball. Standing at a physical 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Pasquesi will certainly draw the attention of college coaches as he continues to improve.

Standing at 6-foot, 190-pounds, Owen Stahl (2025 OF, Hawthorn Woods, IL) is a big and physical prospect with obvious power potential. The right-hander hitter flashed the strength in his hands in his last at bat, getting around on a fastball and sending a hard line drive to the pull side. He also hopped on the mound for an inning, topping out at 80 mph.

Green vs Purple Game Highlights >>

1/16/2023 10:31:23 PM

Timothy Boston (2026 OF, Lees Summit, MO) made some of the loudest contact of the day, unloading on one for a deep drive to left-center field. He did a great job of creating separation and getting out of his load, as he pulled his hands through and barreled up a tough pitch that was near chest height. The young player has more pop in his bat than his size would suggest.

Chris Danko (2024 OF, Elmhurst, IL) impressed on the mound in this look, putting together a solid two innings of work. The right-hander ran his fastball up to 83 mph, utilizing a clean and compact operation and showing a quick arm. His ball proved to get on hitters quick. As for off-speed pitches, he can spin both a curveball and a slider, which aides in keeping the opposing lineup off balance.

Wilson Wemhoff (2025 OF, Pingree Grove, IL) was very impressive in his outing on the mound, as he ran his fastball up to 85 mph (2200+ RPMs) with a loose and easy arm action. He certainly has more in the tank moving forward, and his upside is exciting. His curveball was a legit out-pitch with late bite, and he even flashed a slider and a changeup in the arsenal.

Tyler Peller (2024 OF, Saint John, IN) was another intriguing/high upside arm that we saw today. The left-hander topped out at 84 mph and there is tons of potential in his 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. He flashed a solid, four pitch mix that he could land for strikes, which fits the bill of a starter profile. Look for Peller to make big strides over the next couple of months. As he continues to refine his game, he will easily draw the attention of college coaches.

Gavin Triezenberg (2025 SS, Palos Heights, IL) had a couple of quality at bats in this one. The big and physical 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has obvious power potential given the frame, and his hit tool is intriguing as well. He made solid contact on two occasions, sending a couple of hard line drives to the pull side. Triezenburg is a solid all-around player with exciting upside at the plate.
