RHP Adrian Ruiz - Magallanes ('27 TX) was really on top of his game during his first inning of work for Team Columbia Blue. He only needed 12 pitches to get 3 outs. He struck out 2 with a nice FB/CB combo. The was FB was in the 71-73 mph range with a 11-5 CB that was in the mid 60's. Located the FB well to both sides and used the CB to keep hitters honest. He would punch out 3 while only allowing 1 hit.
1B/3B Landon Victorian ('28 TX) continued to yet again today, to display strength at the plate on Day 2 action. Victorian showed the ability to turn on a FB and rocket it down the 3rd base line for a double. Pull-side hitter for now, but will get better and use more of the field as he matures.
RHP Ty Lane ('27 OK) shows a young, solid frame at 5-foot-9, 145-pounds. He has broad shoulder at should grow and add strength as the matures. On the mound, he would throw 2 innings for Team Orange. He ran his FB up to 73 mph and flashed a 11/5 CB in the mid 60's. Lane would strike out 3 and allow two hits.
RHP/UT Kyle Behan ('28 TX) pitched 2 solid innings of hitless baseball for Team Columbia Blue. He has developing arm strength at the moment but was able to use a FB/CB mix to created weak, soft outs. Behan likes to pitch to contact and is not afraid to use his CB in FB counts. At the plate, he was able find a barrel and rip a triple down to RF.
RHP/3B Luke Loving ('27 TX) is solid two-way player for Team Orange. He swings the bat well at the plate from the left-side and made some solid contact on Day 2. He was also on the mound. He ran his FB up to 76 mph and used a 61 mph CB on occasion. 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame and should add more muscle down the road. Bright future ahead for Loving.
