JJ (Jeremiah) Phillips (2027 C, Pleasantville, IA) put together a consistent round of BP, producing hard barrels to the middle of the field and the oppo gap. The athleticism really stands out, and he displays a physical swing with quick hands and present bat speed. The balanced approach is good to see, and he will continue to increase his pull side power as he gets the barrel turned over.
Abram Decena (2028 OF, Centerville, IA) is a talented young player with advanced strength and barrel skills for his age. The left-handed hitter made loud contact when on time, and he consistently got the barrel turned over, resulting in hard contact to the pull side. The swing is smooth, as he syncs all of his movements up well, and he showed the ability to create lift and drive the baseball with ease.
Bryce Pauly (2026 3B, Davenport, IA) is a strong and athletic player who showed high offensive upside during his BP round. He utilizes a controlled toe tap trigger, creating good rhythm and balance within the operation. He certainly hits the ball hard when catching it out front, and his power potential will continue to rise as he can do so consistently.
Colt DeHart (2026 OF, Franklin, IN) has notable strength and power potential from the left-side of the plate. There is definite bat speed present, and he can really drive the ball to his pull side, creating lift and hard impact off the barrel. There is good balance and rhythm to the stroke as well, which bodes well for the future.
Beau Morio (2027 C, Solon, IA) is a fundamentally sound player who was solid across the board today. Standing at a lanky 5-foot-11, 160-pounds, the primary catcher has a smooth swing, even with his long levers. He found a good amount of barrels during his round and showed the ability to create lift at contact. Given the frame, there is plenty more power to come as he continues to grow and get stronger.
Maddux Mueller (2026 MIF, Amana, IA) displayed good feel for the barrel during his round, consistently finding the sweet spot and lacing balls to his pull side. The left-handed hitter is short to the ball with a direct hand path, and he showed the ability to hit line drives up the middle as well. Mueller has a contact-oriented approach with a solid top of the order profile.
Lincoln Norris (2027 SS, Knoxville, IA) is another talented young player who showed a lot to like during his BP. The right-handed hitter showed quick and direct hands with some twitch to the swing. He really lets the hands work, and he produced hard, line drive contact to the pull side, proving to have good feel for the barrel.
Xavier Perez (2027 C, Urbana, IA) showed advanced strength in the swing, proving to have power on both sides of the plate. He impacted the ball well on the right side when he delivered the barrel out in front, and he created lift with ease on his left-side, producing hard contact to right field. Switch-hitting catchers are quite rare, which makes Perez an intriguing overall prospect.
Ford Stoen (2026 1B, Wayzata, MN) put together one of the more impressive BP rounds of the day, as he created loud, line drive contact to both gaps. Standing at an imposing 6-foot-1, 160-pounds, Stoen creates plenty of separation within the swing and unloads well, which leads to big carry off the barrel
