Joey Wittig (2023 RHP, San Diego, CA) worked a quick and efficient three innings on the mound. Joey showed a quick arm with the ability to mix two pitches effectively and command the zone. The fastball works with good downhill plane up to 91mph. Joey commanded his breaking ball with 11/5 shape and late bite to it.
Michael Castaneda (2023 RHP, San Jose, CA) threw three innings in todays action striking out four batters. He commanded all parts of the zone with good downhill tilt on his fastball. Michael flashed potential with his changeup which showed good fading action to it. He worked his fastball up to 86mph, while keeping it down in the strike zone.
Dean Carpentier (2023 SS, Fountain Valley, CA) has impressed in the workouts this morning flashing the leather with smooth actions in game as well. Dean rips a double in his first at bat to left field showing off his speed. In his second at bat he laced a double into the left center gap for his second double of the game. Dean plays the game hard and shows really advanced skill set both defensive and at the plate.
Tyler Brazil (2024 C, San Marcos, CA) smoked a double to left field in his first at bat of the afternoon. He shows present strength in frame and the ability to find the barrel. Tyler in his second at bat of the afternoon, showed good barrel control ripping a single into left field. He keeps it simple and takes the ball where it is pitched.
Mark "Buddy" Olson (2023 1B/OF, Auburn, WA) was able to leave the yard deep to left field. Mark showed good pull-side pop in batting practice and followed it up in game this afternoon taking a fastball way out to left field.
Michael Ryan (2023 OF, Gridley, CA) laced a triple to the left center gap, in todays action. He shows present strength in the frame with good bat speed. Michael also shows good speed on the bases with tight turns. Michael racked up another hit later in the game putting a great at bat together to drive in a run for his team.
Aidan Stevenson (2024 3B, Coto De Caza, CA) catches a barrel out front for a deep double. Aidan showed some pull-side pop in batting practice and put in on display in game for a double to deep left field just shy of the warning track.
James Derflinger (2023 SS, Villa Park, CA) has racked up two hits in todays action. He shows a present mature appraoch with feel for the barrel. James shows the ability to square the ball up and use the whole field and moves well for his size.
Nico Ficele (2023 1B, Simi Valley, CA) racked up three hits on the day. He was able to barrel up the ball consistley and find holes in the defense. Nico shows a present mature approach and doesn't try to do to much at the plate, a very tough out at the plate.
