4-Red vs 6-White >>

6/17/2022 8:27:27 PM

Brandon Gonzales (2025 RHP, Tampa, FL) showed a lot of potential on the mound in this one. The big 6-foot-3, 195-pounder ran his fastball up to 86 mph with a free and easy delivery. There is real upside in the frame, and he has the ability to land three different offspeed pitches for strikes.

Omar Serna (2025 C, Pearland, TX) came out firing in the first inning, providing a loud performance in his single inning of work. The primary catcher showed electric stuff, sitting in the low 90's and touching 92 mph. The arm comes through clean and he has advanced arm speed.

Xavier Byams (2025 3B, Lilburn, GA) got ahold of a fastball in a two-strike count and did not miss it, ripping it off the monster in left field for a double. Byams is a strong and physical player and it showed during this at bat, as the ball travelled 306 feet and was recorded at 85 mph off the bat.

Caleb Danzeisen (2025 OF, Laveen, AZ) was seeing the ball extremely well today, as he picked up a base knock in each of his first two at-bats. The first was a hard-hit line drive up the middle and the second was a deep drive centerfield that sailed over the outfielder's head. This one left the bat at 93 mph and carried 339 feet, and he motored around the bases for a triple.

Nash Pires (2025 SS, Pace, FL) was impressive on the bump in his two innings of work, sitting 84-87 mph with a 2371 spin rate. He stands a projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pounds with plenty of whip to the arm, and there is more in the tank moving forward. His slider was very good at times as well, sitting in the mid 70's with a 2427 spin rate.

Carter Derks (2025 RHP, Coral Springs, FL) has a durable 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame, and looks every bit the part of a starting pitcher. He sat 82-84 mph with a smooth arm action and has plenty of upside moving forward.

Evan Damario (2025 C, Lees Summit, MO) made consistent, hard contact in this one, finishing 2-for-4 with two well-struck singles. The first was a hard line drive up the middle that was recorded at 90 mph off the bat. The second was recorded at 87 mph, and it was a nice piece of hitting, as he went with an outside pitch for an opposite field line drive single.

Ethan Brittain (2025 SS, Wake Forest, NC) capped off the final AB of Sophomore National with an opposite field triple. The primary middle infielder added a base knock to centerfield in the second inning to finish 2-for-3. He has a loose and athletic right-handed swing with present juice.

2-Gray vs 5-Royal >>

6/17/2022 4:58:01 PM

Sean Ashenfelder (2025 St. Johns, FL) led off the game with some thunder off the bat, smoking a 94-mph shot to the middle of the field.

Kai Nee (2025 Westport, CT) is a compact and quick armed lefty that has really good quality on the fastball that peaks at 87. The carry is real with 23 inches of induced vertical break at times. He lands the curveball at will, also.

Russ Martin (2025 Rose Bud, AR) has an athletic and durable frame and uses his lower half effectively to create easy 87-mph bolts with his fastball. The pitch was up to 2400+ rpm’s. He pairs the heater with a solid CB/CH mix. He also made an impressive diving catch in leftfield ranging toward the line.

Dominic Stephenson (2025 Marietta, GA) gets extended on a heater and smokes a line drive over the leftfielders head that banged loudly against the leftfield wall. He later stayed through the zone and hit another liner hit to centerfield.

Donovan Jeffrey (2025 Chester, VA) may have the most consistently loud and accurate barrel of the event so far. He hammered another line drive hit that registered at 93-mph off the bat. This time using the opposite field to do damage.

Reagan McCluskey (2025 Brentwood, TN) can rival Jeffrey on the Royal team. He hammered another double to the left centerfield gap on Friday. The exit velocity was an impressive, coming off the barrel at 94-mph. He later gunned down a runner trying to steal third furthering the resume for his great showing.

Greyson Zach (2025 Pewaukee, WI) had a couple base knocks on Friday. The last was an impressive at bat, sitting on a curveball and driving it up the middle for a hit with an 85 exit velocity.

Connor Lytle (2025 New Canaan, CT) collected his third hit of the event on Friday. He worked the opposite field again, this time singling to the right centerfield gap. Seems to always be on time.

Luke Pappano (2025 Cincinnati, OH) got all over a pitch, smoking a line drive up the middle coming off the bat at 93-mph followed by another hit at 91-EV. After pitching earlier, the bat showing up on Friday, he showed the full skill set by making a good diving catch in centerfield.

Christopher Sosa (2025 Hialeah, FL) ran the heater up to 88-mph early in his outing. His frame and athleticism give a ton of reason to think more jumps are coming soon. The off speed continues to develop.

Zion Theophilus (2025 Anderson, OH) has excellent 2-way potential and had a couple knocks on Friday. He has a very quick left-handed swing with good barrel awareness and the power is coming.

Johnathan Combs (2025 Mechanicsville, VA) is such an athletic player, and he has very fast hands at the dish. He pummeled another hit on Friday that came off the bat at 92-mph.

Thomas O’Connell (2025 Harwinton, CT) continues to show the advanced hit tool as he went with a pitch to the opposite field to knock another base hit during game play.

Joseph Chiarodo (2025 Edwardsville, IL) has a really fast shoulder and fired fastballs in the 85-87 range. He flashed a developing curveball that should develop as well. He also had a hard contact offensively that registered 87-mph off the bat.

Caleb Doty (2025 Olive Branch, MS) has a quick and athletic delivery with good arm speed and threw effortlessly in the mid-80s during his outing. He is comfortable pitching backwards if needed.

1-Black vs 3-Navy  >>

6/17/2022 2:19:37 PM

Gavin Stedman (2025 Auburndale, FL) is a really interesting arm with ease to the operation and mid-80s peaks. He throws two different shaped breaking balls with solid feel to land both offerings. A lot to like moving forward. He also hammered a hard line drive triple to the opposite field that came off the bat at 92-mph.

Walter Urbon (2025 Manhattan Beach, CA) has been on the barrel all week and it continued on Friday as the strong right-handed hitter smoked another liner single up the middle.

Caleb Ricks (2025 Elizabethtown, KY) is an athletic a twitchy right-handed hitter that turned on a pitch and drove a sharp single into leftfield.

Michael Vanderheyden II (2025 Ozark, AL) has solid swing mechanics and good physical projection remaining. He is on time mostly and showed a good approach hitting a hard single to leftfield on Friday.

Noah Franco (2025 Downey, CA) had three loud hits on the day including a double. He used every part of the field to collect the hits and seems to get better everytime we see him. He also has huge potential on the mound, running the fastball up to 88.

Drake Tucker (2025 Terrell, NC) had a couple barrels on the day. The last resulting in a hard single up the middle that scooted by the shortstop.

Jacob Kendall (2025 St. Augustine, FL) turned on an upper-80s fastball, left-on-left, and smoked a ground rule double that produced a 90-mph exit velocity.

Bryce Masters (2025 Prattville, AL) has a beautiful 6-4/205 frame that projects in a big way. He already throws a ton of strikes from a tough slot and has feel with all offerings. The FB peaked at 84.

Jack Poellot (2025Cedarburg, WI) showed interesting upside on the mound given his arm speed and overall athleticism. He ran the heater up to 86-mph and flashed a CB with good shape.

Jackson Roper (2025 Orange Park, FL) is one of the better early shortstops in the class, with real actions and a very good hit tool. He also can jump on the mound, as he did on Friday, and has mid-80s heat peaks.

Donavan Jeffrey (2025 1B, Chester, VA) has an extra large frame and easily drives the ball to all parts of the field.  He has a physical swing and the ball jumps off his bat and ends up deep in the gaps.

Jalen Foxx (2025 OF, Sanford, FL) has an on balance approach at the plate and has quick hands through the zone that causes the ball to jump off his bat.  He is consistently on time and made line drive contact to all parts of the field.

Josh Gibbs (2025 SS, Cumming, GA) has an explosive lower half that allows him to create tons of separation in his swing.  The ball jumps off the barrel into the gaps and he was able to launch a home run well over the left field fence.

Taylor Tracey (2025 LHP, Austin, TX) has a tall frame with long limbs that he uses to get extended and make contact out in front of the plate.  He has plenty of strength and was able to launch three balls out over the left and left-center field fence.
