2022 Jr. National Showcase (06/11/2022 - 06/15/2022)

Royal-10 vs White-12 >>

6/15/2022 5:13:31 PM

Grant Breaux (2024 Baton Rouge, LA) worked up to 88 with the fastball that has some arm side life late in flight. 11/5 shape to the low-70s curveball that has some snap to it.

Sammy Petrocelli (2024 Los Angeles, CA) showcased a solid three pitch mix with the fastball sitting in the upper-80’s and the CB/CH off speed mix showing big promise.

Cade Brown (2024 Lilburn, GA) launched a ball down the leftfield line that came off the bat at 92-mph and travelled 348 feet. Really strong with a quick and athletic swing.

Sebastian Perez (2024 Syosset, NY) lined a hard single to the pull side to start his day. The body and swing project in a very big way to hit for both average and power.

Gabriel Tirado (2024 Newington, CT) can impact the game in a number of ways whether it is his lethal left-handed bat, as he hammered another hard single to the pull side, or his arm behind the plate as he gunned a runner trying to steal third base.

Stratton Scott (2024 Knoxville, TN) is an athletic and live armed right-handed pitcher that has easy mid-80s velocity to go with a well-shaped curveball. The quick shoulder impressed.

Matt Hoag (2024 Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) has uber-projection and showed it with a fastball that peaked at 89-mph from a low slot with a whippy arm action. He also got some bad S/M on a sharp upper-70’s breaking ball. He flashed a CH at 83-mph with 23-inches of Hor-break.

Tag Andrews (2024 Maumelle, AR) has a compact delivery and quick arm as he fired mid-80s heat (T88) and paired it with a sharp breaking ball. The CH also shows upside and he kept all three offerings down in the zone.

Nate Taylor (2024 Flowery Branch, GA) fired easy upper-80s heat with a lot more in the tank. He has very usable off speed offerings with both the CB and CH flashing above average.

Joseph Zorc (2024 Sterling, VA) is a shifty middle infielder that looks the part on both sides of the ball. He squared up two hits on the day, the last being a 90-mph shot through the 6-hole.

Bricen Smith (2024 Perry, GA) had a 89-mph exit velocity to the pull side earlier in the event and now goes 90-mph off the barrel to the opposite field gap for a triple to round out a great event. He also threw low-80s on the mound.

Jacob Burnham (2024 Key West, FL) sat in the 82-84 area with a solid three pitch mix and very good pitchability. He is geared to get high stress outs already.

Mason Clark (2024 Audubon, PA) stayed on an outer half pitch and drove it hard up the middle for a line drive single. Nice job of taking what the pitcher gave him and firing it back up the box.

Dawson Cleveland (2024 Murphy, TX) banged a liner to the middle of the field that had a 92-mph exit velocity. The heavy hands really play and the frame can hold even more strength as he matures.

Ethan Murray (2024 Buford, GA) ended the event with a hard single back up the middle. The loose swing and projectable body give him a very high ceiling.

Red-9 vs 11 Vegas Gold >>

6/15/2022 2:44:39 PM

Ryan Ashford (2024 Lake Mary, FL) sat in the in the 82-84/85 range early with 19” of horizontal break on the heater at times. Tunnels the FB/SL from a tough lower slot that gave hitters a very tough look. The SL had 17” of horizontal break at its peak. He also hammered a single at 89-mph later in the game.

Anson Seibert (2024 Overland Park, KS) has a massively projectable body at 6’8 with extra long limbs. He sat around 90 and worked up to 92. He flashed a CH and SL, both around 80. The plane was nearly impossible to match and the upside is real given his body, athleticism and arm speed. Lots of soft contact.

Talan Bell (2024 Oviedo, FL) has a lot of traits on all offerings to like. Low release height with super low spin on the FB up to 88, 16” of Hor-break on the mid-70s slider, and 14” of Hor-break on the CH around 80.

Blake O’Brien (2024 Overland Park, KS) used his strong athletic swing to pummel a line drive hit to the pull side coming off the bat at 92-mph exit velocity. He followed with another hard barrel to the pull at 89 exit velocity.

Dalton Meadows (2024 McCall Creek, MS) showcased a controlled and effortless delivery with a loose arm and low slot. He ran the fastball up to 89 with 17” of horizontal break peaks. He also flashed a short breaking slider in the mid-70s.

Grant Hollister (2024 Blue Springs, MO) continued to rake here in Atlanta as he pulled his hands in and smoked a line drive hit down the left field line.

Taft Middleton (2024 Columbus, GA) found a hard barrel that came off the bat at 89 for a single up the middle. Excellent 2-way ability.

Paul Jones II (2024 Burnsville, MN) has some of the strongest hands at the event and continues to mash here. Another single and big exit velocity, this one coming off the bat at 97-mph.

Trey Snyder (2024 Kearney, MO) has found the barrel often using his all fields approach to hammer a double down the opposite field line. Impressive hit tool.

Ethan Surowiec (2024 Gulfport, MS) has real hit-power potential and can impact the ball to all fields as he did for a hard liner hit to the opposite field gap. He also jumped on the mound and peaked at 89 with 21 inches of induced vertical break.

Cannon Feazell (2024 Windermere, FL) has an athletic delivery with easy arm speed with more coming. He peaks in the mid-80s and throws a CB/CH with matching release making it tough on hitters.

Michael Kalinich (2024 Longwood, FL) hit a sharp single through the 4-hole during game play, this after taking an impressive all fields batting practice. He also gunned down a runner trying to steal showing a quick release and accuracy. To cap off a great event Kalinich hit a long homerun that came off the bat at 96-mph and travelled 349 feet.

Sean Benjamin (2024 Ferdinanda Beach, FL) got his second hit of the event hitting a shot to the 6-hole. He has good timing and shows toughness in the right-handed batters box.

Eli Fleming (2024 Oviedo, FL) has a durable athletic frame with a clean and easy arm action. The fastball peaks in the upper-80’s and the breaking ball has lots of Hor-break peaking at 18 inches and in the mid-70s. He also throws a solid low-80s CH.

Jackson Glueck (2024 Kansas City, MO) has been all over the barrel this week. The strong left-handed swing pounded another hit and it had an exit velocity of 96-mph.

Tyler Head (2024 Winter Garden, FL) turned on a pitch and smacked a single through the 4-hole. Given the strong body, bat speed, and swing mechanics this should be a significant power profile as he develops.

Perry Hargett (2024 Peachland, NC) found a couple hits including a double during game play. He showed good twitch and is an excellent runner.

Hudson Shoaf (2024 Germantown, TN) has a physical frame with explosive hand speed and he used both to smash a single to the left centerfield gap with a 95 exit velocity.

Will Sanford (2024 San Diego, CA) has a really quick shoulder with a 90-mph fastball that has 23 inches of induced vertical break. There is real velocity upside and he also spins it well with 2700 rpm spin on the slider.

Branson Watters (2024 Rochester Hills, MI) continues to take some of the loudest swings of the event as he smothered a line drive single up the middle, coming off the bat at 97-mph.

Vegas Gold vs. White Game Highlights >>

6/14/2022 11:58:20 PM

Ryan McPherson (2024 RHP, Hollywood, FL) is a Mississippi State commit who showed off his talents on the mound, running his fastball up to 91 mph while mixing both a curveball with depth in the mid-70s and the makings of a nice slider at 82 mph, rounding out a 4-pitch mix with a changeup up to 80 mph.

Schuyler Sandford (2024 RHP, St. Augustine, FL) was impressive during his time on the mound, showing a loose and fast arm action while running his heater up to 91 mph. The slider has some real swing and miss potential as he tunnels it extremely well off of the heater and was able to miss some bats by a wide margin.

David Hogg II (2024 SS, Grand Prairie, TX) turned around a heater in his first at-bat of the game to blast a loud double to the pull side gap off of an upper-80s fastball.

Joey Tonnotti (2024 RHP, Southington, CT) impressed even in a one inning stint, pounding the strike zone with a complete three pitch mix, showing plenty of life through the zone. His fastball worked comfortably in the upper-80s, peaking 89 mph, while showing comfort in both a curveball and changeup. He showed his two-way ability late in the game, blasting a 90 mph exit velocity off the left-field wall for a standup double, putting an exclamation point on an impressive day.

Brayden Toro (2024 RHP, Oviedo, FL) shows an athletic operation on the mound with a long and loose arm action through the back, working across his body some while generating sink on his fastball in the mid-80s (top 87 mph) with occasional tilt in the low-70s.

Cade Oleary (2024 RHP, Wexford, PA) worked downhill well with his arsenal, showing a fast arm which helped produce a fastball peak of 91 mph while showing depth on a mid-70s curveball and a quality changeup which he turned over upwards of 82 mph.

Dawson Cleveland (2024 C, Murphy, TX) stayed on a breaking ball just long enough to turn it around in the left-center field gap for a stand up double, registering 89 mph off of the barrel.

Anthony Wilkie (2024 RHP, Gainesville, FL) is an intimidating presence on the mound and he continuously powered the ball downhill throughout his outing. He worked into the upper-80s with his heater, showing short running life while turning over a changeup at 80 mph with short fading life and a slider in the upper-70s.

Hudson Emeterio (2024 RHP, Argyle, TX) is a physical presence on the mound at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and he came out pumping the zone with an upper-80s fastball, peaking 90 mph, while turning over a changeup with late fade as well as a breaker in the zone.

Gabriel Tirado (2024 C, Newington, CT) continued to make a name for himself with the bat in his hands at Perfect Game events, showing real strength off the barrel once again as he barreled a single through the 6-hole which registered 98 mph off of the barrel.

Ethan Puig (2024 3B, Miami, FL) put together a two-hit day, something he’s come accustom to doing in PG events, wrapping up his day with a barreled single to the middle of the field which registered 89 mph prior to swiping second base in just a couple of pitches.

Kasen Khansarinia (2024 SS, Chino Hills, CA) continued to show well, this time sending a pitch down the opposite field hard off of the barrel for a triple, getting to show both the strength in his bat as well as his foot speed as he glided around the bases.

Bo Walker (2024 OF, Peachtree City, GA) put up some big time numbers yesterday during the drills portion of the event and picked up a single to center field in his second at-bat to set the tempo for the White offense.

Dillon Smalley (2024 RHP, Winter Park, FL) is a long and lean right-hander who took to the mound for Vegas Gold and showed a heater that worked in the mid-80s while mixing in a big sweeper with upwards of 19 inches of horizontal life up to 74 mph.

Kent (KJ) Moon (2024 3B, Statham, GA) worked an inning for the White team in relief and topped out at 86 mph with sinking life, flashing an above average curveball upwards of 2600 RPM while working down in the zone throughout.

Erick Diaz (2024 OF, Middletown, NY) turned around a fastball late in the game for the White team, showing looseness to his hands while turning the barrel head for a 92 mph single, showing alertness to take second on the throw in to third base.

Brenson Watters (2024 1B, Rochester Hills, MI) is a 6-foot-2 left-handed hitter who was able to implement his strength with a 95 mph double which jumped off of the barrel and brought the crowd to the edge of their seat.

Kustarr Webb (2024 1B, Jacksonville, FL) had perhaps two of the loudest barrels of the day, first connecting for a 94 mph single into right field before simply flicking his wrists for a 361-foot fly out to left-center field which registered 93 mph off of the barrel.
6-Navy vs. 8-Purple Game Highlights >>

6/14/2022 5:41:57 PM

Mattox Meeks (2024 RHP, New Smyrna Beach, FL) worked in the mid-80s and showed one of the better changeups of the day. He's got a ton of confidence in the pitch and it has excellent action and functions as a swing-and-miss pitch.

Tate Strickland (2024 RHP, Powder Springs, GA) worked up to 90 mph and showed great athleticism and arm speed. The fastball had spin above 2600+ rpm and the slider flashed some vicious bite in the 77-81 mph range.

Landon Beaver (2024 1B, Smiths Station, AL) dumped a fastball six inches off the plate and hustled around for a double. He collected another hit to the pull side and his hitterish traits have been impressive all weekend.

Dawson Simmons (2024 OF, Marerro, LA) got the hands extended on a hard hit double and showed good jump off the barrel. Simmons has a compact swing with heavy hands and showed the ability to cover the plate well.

Hudson Lance (2024 RHP, Trinity, NC) worked in the mid-80s and racked up a number of strikeouts. He topped at 86 mph with some sinking life while the curveball was for strikes but the changeup was deadly to left-handed hitters with spin in the 1200s rpm.

Malachi Paplanus (2024 RHP, Lake In The Hills, IL) worked up to 87 mph with an advanced feel for his secondaries. The curveball has very high spin in the 2600s rpm.

Cayden Sheffield (2024 C, Acworth, GA) got an elevated fastball and didn't miss it as he hit an 88 exit velocity double to the pull side. Sheffield has plenty of strength off the barrel and it's played in game all weekend.

Gus Gandy (2024 SS, St Simons Island, GA) had a double down the line to show off the impressive bat to ball skills. Gandy keeps it short to the ball with a compact swing and good contact skills.

Edwin Gonzalez Ortega (2024 OF, Aibonito, PR) got the hands extended to rip the ball into the pull side gap for a double. Ortega is a good runner and got around the bases quickly but the feel to pull the ball impressed.

William Maginnis (2024 3B, Newnan, GA) had two knocks back up the middle and showed off his quick hands in the process. Maginnis is hitterish with good hand eye and his second single came off the bat at 88 mph.

Andrew Carter (2024 OF, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) had two knocks on the day including a single to left field and an opposite field triple. Carter has good plate coverage with a flat swing and showed nice barrel manipulation skills to go the other way on an outer half fastball.

Alex Hernandez (2024 SS, Cumming, GA) showed some interesting stuff in relief with a fastball touching 88 mph with a high spin breaking ball. It's a quick arm and there is substantial upside to be had.

5-Maroon vs. 7-Orange Game Highlights >>

6/14/2022 2:43:41 PM

Ross Felder (2024 RHP, Springdale, AR) tossed two very efficient innings during the game. He's got a fluid and timed up delivery with a very loose arm and fairly low effort delivery. He held mid-80s with lots of strikes and three pitches.

Tanner Sauls (2024 3B, Milton, FL) showed off the strength with a missile opposite field double in the first inning. Sauls has loads of strength in the left-handed swing with good plate coverage and the exit velocity was 91 mph.

Brady Davis (2024 RHP, Winchester, KY) worked up to 88 mph on the mound and showed a lot of things to like. He's got very good arm speed with good carry on the fastball and there's also really good feel for a power curveball.

Eli Driskell (2024 RHP, Mobile, AL) tossed two innings and was up to 88 mph with the fastball. The pitch showed good spin and some carry and run up in the zone. Breaker flashed some swing and miss potential.

Nick Cucchi (2024 OF, Tampa, FL) crushed a home run deep to left field that left the bat at 99 mph with an estimated distance of 365 feet. The bat speed and strength are extremely impressive and he also worked 85-86 mph on the mound with a good curveball.

Landon Mack (2024 SS, Columbus, NJ) pitched a quick inning and notched a couple of strikeouts. The primary position player was living in the mid-80s with up to 19 inches of horizontal movement, a ton of arm side run.

Carlos Morales (2024 C, Valrico, FL) turned in a good piece of hitting as he sat back on a two strike slider to pull it for a hard hit single. Morales has heavy, hitter hands and the ball left the bat at 96 mph.

Tyler Smith (2024 C, Hollywood, FL) used the whole field and showed the plate coverage as he drove a 94 exit velocity knock the other way. Smith is a strong left-handed hitter and the impact potential is vast.

Brady Dalton (2024 OF, Sachse, TX) had a knock at the dish and showed off the arm strength from left field. Dalton fired a strike to the plate to hose a runner trying to score; the throw was right on the money and the runner was easily out.

Kyle Lockhart (2024 RHP, Friendswood, TX) showed a full four pitch mix and nice projection to follow. The delivery is fluid and the arm stroke loose as he worked up to 87 mph. The curveball gets good raw spin up to 2655 and he also used a harder cutter later in the frame.

Ariston Veasey (2024 C, Tyrone, GA) worked an inning of relief and ran the heater up to 91 mph. The fastball gets good carry with between 18-20 inches of IVB while he also showed a 12/6 curveball and a more horizontal slider.

AJ Evasco (2024 1B, Lincoln, NE) did a nice job at showing off the strength with an opposite field triple. Evasco just threw the hands at the pitch that left the bat at 89 mph as the strength and power comes easy for the left-handed hitter.

Roberto Barreto (2024 3B, Quebradillas, PR) showed some interesting stuff on the mound in relief. He worked in the mid-80s from a three-quarters slot with low spin and sink while he killed spin on the mid-70s CH down to 1010 rpm.

Nicholas Vega (2024 C, New York, NY) got the hands extended late and crushed a ground rule double to the left centerfield gap. He showed the bat speed to turn it around and the ball left the bat at 91 mph with an estimated distance of 342 feet.

Eli Stephens (2024 C, Warner Robins, GA) took an elevated fastball and went the other way for a double. The ball left the bat at 88 mph and Stephens has taken consistently good at-bats all weekend.

Gold vs. Green Game Hghlights  >>

6/12/2022 5:51:53 PM

Troy Korvick sports a strong frame and came out pounding the ball from a higher slot, generating big angle on his fastball which worked into the upper-80s while spinning a tight curveball in the low-70s with shape.

Jayden Nunez put another nice swing on the ball in day two during his first at-bat, staying on spin and dropping the barrel to square it up into center field, plating the first run of the game for Gold.

Teagan Kuhns proved to be one of the better arms to go thus far in the showcase, running his fastball up to 91 mph though it’s was his ability to spin the curveball that truly stood out with hard 12-6 shape and 2700/2800 RPM upwards of 80 mph.

Robbie Melo found a loud barrel in his first at-bat, putting a single off a curveball through the left side for a squared up single.

Calder Glassman continues to add to his fastball throughout looks at PG events, running his fastball up to 90 mph in his first inning of work at the Junior. The ball jumped out of his hands and showed some life through the zone.

Henry McDonald turned around an 87 mph fastball and continued to impress with the bat in his hands, picking up a double down the left field line. He would follow up with another loud barrel for a single in his next at-bat.

Myles Davis picked up a knock for the Gold team in the middle innings, lining a pitch the other way for a single which registered at 89 mph off of the barrel before swiping second base a few pitches later. He also hopped on the mound and topped out at 87 with his heater.

Derek Curiel found a good barrel in his first-at-bat, stroking a liner up the middle. The outfielder also made a nice play running down a fly ball before delivering a strong, accurate throw from across his body to double up the runner at first.

Jay Slater did a great job of recognizing spin and lining it to center in his first at-bat. The Michigan commit displayed good rhythm to his swing and swung with intent.

Black vs. Gray Game Highlights >>

6/12/2022 2:51:53 PM

Adonys Velez (2024 SS, Orlando, FL) wasted little time to get on base in his first at-bat, dropping what looked like a single into shallow right field only to turn on the jets and stretch it into a double before coming around to score.

Eric Cha (2024 3B, Harrington Park, NJ) led off the bottom of the first with a loud barrel of his own, putting a 90 mph fastball back up the middle for a hard barrel before coming around to tie the game for Black. He also broke off some quality sliders throughout his time on the mound, spinning the pitch in the mid-70s while also showing his arm strength, topping out at 87 mph with his best fastballs.

Ford Thompson (2024 LHP, Snellville, GA) is a younger for the grade left-hander who showed some impressive stuff in his inning of work, running his fastball up to 90 mph with plenty of arm speed while showing a late sweeping slider in the low-70s with upwards of 20 inches of horizontal break.

Gavin Braland (2024 C, Hampton, GA) continued to make a name for himself this event with another booming double, squaring up an elevated fastball for a double that cleared the center fielder’s head, clocking in with a 93 mph exit velocity.

Levi Sterling (2024 SS, Los Angeles, CA) might be listed as a primary bat, but he impressed during his time on the mound with a short, clean arm action and plenty of strikes, living in the upper-80s with his fastball while spinning a quality slider in the 77-78 mph range.

Karson Grout (2024 MIF, Wellman, IA) showed off his strength in BP yesterday and again did in live action with a booming triple to dead center field, traveling 342 feet to clear the defender’s head.

Adonis Smith (2024 RHP, Stockbridge, GA) is a physically built right-hander who came out and sat in the 85-89 mph range, generating short sinking life down in the zone while inducing weaker contact off of the bat and mixing a breaking ball in the mid-70s around the zone.

Murchael Turner (2024 OF, Mableton, GA) continued to blast baseballs off of the barrel after driving a home run over the left field wall yesterday, this time squaring up a fastball and sending it back up the middle for a single.

Jan Luis Reyes Camacho (2024 OF, Humacao, PR), a primary outfielder, jumped on the mound and continued to show what we’ve previously seen with a quicker first ining on the mound, picking up a strikeout while running his fastball up to 85 mph.

Brodie Johnston (2024 SS, Ooltewah, TN) continued to have a nice showcase, excelling in the box once again with a well struck single into center field which registered 95 mph off of the barrel.

Tanner Waldrop (2024 3B, Auburn, AL) hopped onto the mound and quickly showed off a three-pitch mix, showing a heater that bumped 86 mph while mixing both a nice changeup as well as a curveball for strikes.

Jonah Weathers (2024 3B, Chicago, IL) was able to inside out a fastball down the right field line, showing off his ability to pull the hands in, scooting his way to second for a double.

Aidan Guilbeau (2024 1B, Acworth, GA) had himself a nice day at the plate, turning in a three-hit game for the Gray team including a hard line drive single in his final at-bat.

Just as we saw yesterday, Austin Phillips (2024 3B, Fort Worth, TX) found a loud barrel late in the game for Gray with a barreled triple down the right field line.

Red-9 vs Royal-10 Highlights  >>

6/14/2022 5:00:00 AM

Erik Parker (2024 Suwanee, GA) took the second pitch he saw and hit it off the leftfield wall for a double. Easy juice with tools on both sides of the ball.

Cade Townsend (2024 Aliso Viejo, CA) was really impressive running his fastball up to 92 mph with 2650 spin at times. The hammer curveball also had 2900 spin at times, with hard late snap.

Taft Middleton (2024 Columbus, GA) is a physical left-handed pitcher that is already throwing in the upper-80s. He gets good extension and plane. The changeup is a solid offering that got whiffs.

Joseph Zorc (2024 Sterling, VA) attacked a fastball on the outer half and went with the pitch, driving it to the right centerfield gap for a double. The right-handed hitter is strong with a really quick bat.

Leighton Harris (2024, KY) has an advanced online delivery and sits in the mid-80s with his fastball and can locate the pitch well. There is depth to the low-70s curveball that has 2700+ spin and swing and miss traits. He also had a couple loud barrels offensively.

Noah LaFine (2024 Uniontown, OH) has a quick tempo and pounds the zone with a lower slot arm stroke with upper-80s velocity peaks. There is horizontal movement on the fastball that gets soft contact. He upper-70s slider plays well off the heater.

Cole Lanford (2024 Raleigh, NC) has lots of projection as he fills out his tall frame. He already has mid-80s peaks and pounds the zone with three pitches.

Paul Jones II (2024 Burnsville, MN) showed his excellent bat speed stroking a single through the 4-hole. There is significant thunder in the bat.

Evan Macintyre (2024 Matthews, NC) stayed behind the ball well and smoked a hard line drive single to the opposite field. He plays an aggressive style of baseball and can create.

Eric Lintelman (2024 West Chester, PA) has a quick arm and ran the fastball into the upper-80s with life. He is confident with the breaking ball that got a bunch of empty swings. He attacks hitters with all offerings.

Logan Harelson (2024 Mountville, PA) is a projectable lefty with effortless mid-80s velocity and locates well. He mixes his pitches well and works both sides of the plate. There is big upside with added strength.

Kross Horwarth (2024 Norristown, PA) put good wood on an upper-80s fastball and knocked a liner into right that came off the bat at 85-mph.

Will Sanford (2024 San Diego, CA) has a physical frame and lots of bat speed that plays in game. He put a good swing on a line drive base hit that had plenty of jump off the bat.

Sean Benjamin (2024 Fernandina Beach, FL) had a couple loud barrels on the day that led to a hit and a 90-mph exit velocity. Benjamin seems to always hit.

Will Brooks (2024 Marshville, NC) crushed a hit that came off the bat at 92-mph that plated 2-runs. The hands are really strong at the point of contact.

Grant Hollister (2024 Blue Springs, MO) has been extremely impressive so far at the Jr National and it continued during game play. He destroyed a double that would bang off the left field wall and came off the barrel at 93-mph.

Paul Green (2024 Tyrone, GA) throws a heavy fastball in the 86-88 range with good plane to the pitch. He used the CB and CH during the outing with the CH showing promise.

Jackson Glueck (2024 Kansas City, MO) has big power potential coming from his very strong frame. He belted a liner hit up the middle that came off the bat at 88-mph. He has an advanced middle of the field approach.

Green vs. Gray Game Highlights >>

6/11/2022 11:14:54 PM

Jeff Lougee (2024 SS, Mechanicsburg, PA) took one of the better rounds of BP in the first group of the event and continued to find the barrel in live action, squaring up a fastball for a hard line drive triple that split the gap in right-center field gap.

Landon Victorian (2024 RHP, Lake Charles, LA) brought some of the better stuff to the mound, not only on the radar gun but in terms of pitchability as well. The uncommitted righty wasn’t afraid to pitch backwards and did so often, showing a complete mix of a curveball, slider and changeup, while also running his fastball up to 93 mph.

Burke Mabeus (2024 C, Henderson, NV) is a strongly build switch-hitter who took his first at-bat from the left side and proceeded to smoke a single back up the middle, registering 98 mph off of the barrel. He continued to barrel the ball hard throughout the game, tripling hard into the right-center field gap.

Coleman Mayfield (2024 LHP, Elk City, OK) worked a very clean and easy 87-89 mph with a loose, extended release and pounded the strike zone. He went mostly to his curveball which showed big shape with feel while also turning over a devastating changeup at 75 mph.

Jackson Sanders (2024 LHP, Opelika, AL) is nowhere near being a fun at-bat for opposing hitters, attacking them with a fastball upwards of 92 mph with a fast arm stroke and devastating slider with hard, late biting life.

Ashton Alston (2024 RHP, Gallatin, TN) is an intimidating right-hander on the mound and the young Alabama commit came out throwing heat, topping out at 92 mph early in his outing, showing a long and whippy arm action through the back.

Derek Curiel (2024 OF, West Covina, CA) put together a quality at-bat in his second trip to the plate and despite finding himself down 1-2 against a left-handed hitter, he sat back and put a slider on his hands back up the middle before promptly stealing two bags.

Luke Oblen (2024 RHP, Chicago, IL) utilized a short, compact arm action and lived comfortably in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph in his first inning of work while also mixing a curveball in the mid-70s for strikes as well as a changeup at 77 mph.

Jayden Nunez (2024 3B, Lawrenceville, GA) may be a primary infielder but he made one of the best throws from the outfield in live action as he came up throwing on a hard ground ball single through the left side off the bat of Tanner Waldrop and delivered an absolute strike in the air to home to get the runner.

Justin Wood (2024 RHP, Winnetka, IL) settled in during his second inning of his outing and started showing some of his better velocity, bumping 85 mph with his best heater while mixing in a 12-6 shaped curveball.

Andrew Johnson (2024 RHP, San Juan Capistrano, CA) showed a clean and easy operation on the mound, working comfortably in the mid-80s, bumping 87 mph, while showing a nice feel for his big breaking curveball and a changeup in the upper-70s.

Austin Phillips (2024 3B, Fort Worth, TX) gave the Gray club a spark on offense as he turned around the first 87 mph fastball he saw and promptly put it down the left field line for a two base hit.

Gavin Braland (2024 C, Hampton, GA), a South Carolina commit, got his pitch and didn’t miss the breaking ball as he barreled it hard and loud, driving the pitch over the wall in left-center field for a solo shot.

Aiden Cody (2024 RHP, Spring Lake Heights, NJ) came on in relief for Gray with a long and whippy arm action, topping out in the upper-80s though it was the slider with tight, late bite in the mid/upper-70s that proved to be a true difference maker.

Black vs. Gold Game Highlights >>

6/11/2022 7:56:28 PM

Andre Wood (2024 RHP, Leander, TX), an uncommitted arm, ran his heater up to 88 mph and filled the zone, showing both a hard breaker up to 2400 RPM and a changeup that proved to be a weapon up to 81 mph with late.

Garrett Shull (2024 SS, Enid, OK) got the showcase off to a hot start with a loud barreled double to the right-center field gap, turning on a pitch while building off of what was an already impressive round of BP. He continued to find the barrel, doubling again later in the game which registered at 100 mph off of the bat.

Levi Sterling (2024 SS, Los Angeles, CA) followed up the next half inning for Black with a double of his own, turning on a pitch for a barreled double down the left field line.

Thayer Tavormina (2024 RHP, Summerville, SC), another uncommitted arm, showed well and projects nicely moving forward, already up to 86 mph with his fastball though it was his ability to tunnel the slider that truly stood out.

Evan Bloomer (2024 SS, Collierville, TN) continued the offense for the Black team, turning on a fastball in on his hands for a double that hit off the wall to plate another run. He picked up a second hit later in the game with a ground ball single through the left side.

Jason Bello (2024 3B, Fort Myers, FL) continued to show well as he always does, pulling the hands and barrel in on an 84 mph heater for a double down the left field line. It was omroe of the same in his second at-bat as he connected for another double before stealing third base.

Walker Hooks (2024 LHP, Brandon, MS) came out attacking hitters from an extended slot, bumping an 87 on the radar run with sinking life while showing both a slider and changeup around the zone.

It only took two pitches for Drew Graham (2024 LHP, Avon Lake, OH) to show arguably the best changeup of the day, turning over a 79 mph offering with serious late life. The uncommitted lefty was also up to 90 mph with his fastball and also showed feel for spinning a slider in the upper-70s.

Andre Modugno (2024 3B, Upper Saddle River, NJ) announced his presence in a big way during drills before connecting for the loudest barrel of the day, sending a no-doubt grand slam well into the trees in left field in his second at-bat of the day.

Michael Quedens (2024 LHP, Stockton, CA) showed big life on his fastball and topped out at 85 mph over his two innings of work, showing both a late diving changeup and a slider.

Troy Korvick (2024 RHP, Miami, FL) may be listed as a primary right-handed pitcher but he got ahold of a heater in the middle of the game and sent it deep to the left-center field gap for a standup RBI double.

Murchael Turner (2024 OF, Mableton, GA) followed up Modugno’s bomb and connected for the second home run of the event with another no-doubt shot over the blue monster in left field

Jan Luis Reyes Camacho (2024 OF, Humacao, PR) continued to have a nice first day, sending a barreled double to the opposite field gap.

Andy Perez (2024 SS, Orange City, FL) had a nice opening to the showcase around the field and continued to show well in live action with a pair of barrels, finishing game one with a couple singles.

Jayden Novak (2024 C, North Haven, CT) put his strength on display and pulled a ball hard down the left field line, showing off the strength in his right-handed swing.

Manuelle Marin (2024 SS, Hialeah, FL) lined a hard single over the head of the shortstop, registering 92 mph off of the barrel to get down into left-center field.

Jaxon Walker (2024 OF, Lenoir City, TN) put the bat speed on display, turning those fluid hips well through contact. Loose, athletic swing produced a homer and plenty of hard liners to both gaps.

Gavin Braland (2024 C, Hampton, GA) had an impressive round with loud pull-side drives. Produces some leverage and strength out front with projectable power left in the frame.

Ethan Finch (2024 C, Woodbine, GA) employs a rhythmic right-handed stroke with good extension. Good weight transfer into his front side with plenty of strength in the hands.

Eddie Peters (2024 SS, La Crescent, MN)  displayed a feel for the pull side with a direct right-handed stroke. Gets on plane early and lets his hands work. Solid round that strung together consistent barrels.

Nicholas Rodriguez (2024 C, Miami, FL) put the physical tools on display with a fluid barrel through the zone. Creates good extension, barrel stays in the zone a long time.

Jackson Sanders (2024 LHP, Opelika, AL) stung several to the pull side on a line. Quick hands with good extension, stays balanced in the box and lets his physical tools do the rest. Two-way presence who performed in his round.

Tanner Waldrop (2024 3B, Auburn, AL) lofted several balls to the pull side, including one that was sent to the trees in deep right field. Loose, lofted left-handed stroke. Hips are in-sync and get rotated on time. Physical profile with strength in the hands.

Jackson Thomas (2024 OF, Tampa, FL) produced barrels on a consistent basis during his round. He employs a loose stroke and the frame projects.

Derek Curiel (2024 OF, West Covina, CA) showed a really smooth stroke and easy power. He worked the whole field and displayed the ability to go the other way with authority.

Jackson LaLima (2024 SS, Bradenton, FLA) worked to lift the ball and displayed projectable pop. He creates good length and leveraged the barrel well.

Jeff Lougee (2024 SS, Mechanicsburg, PA) showcased present bat speed with lift to his path. He used a line drive approach and showed a very accurate barrel.

Henry McDonald (2024 C, South Pasadena, CA) stayed real short to the ball and got the ball in the air with authority. He also showed the ability to get in to his lower-half well.

Carson Joyner (2024 3B, Fairhope, AL) used his present strength to impact some balls hard pull side. The power and strength combination plays.

Aukai (Jaydon) Kea (2024 C, Kapolei, HI) barreled some balls very loudly throughout his round and sent a couple over the left field fence. The strength and bat speed both stand out in a big way.

Burke Mabeus (2024 C, Henderson, NV) found barrels often from both side of the plate. The hit tool is advanced and the power will only grow as he continues to fill out his frame.
