2-Gold vs 3-Navy Game Highlights  >>

6/5/2022 6:12:23 PM

Harssh Ramayanam Venkkat (2025, Fort Lee, NJ) got the yellow team on the board first in the top half of the 2nd. Dropping the bat head on a 82-mph fastball, sending it over the center fielders head, showing off the wheels as he motored into third with a standup triple. A shot that got everyone’s attention, the young New Jersey native utilizes a compact stroke with present quickness in his hands that works through the middle-of-the-field well. Tossing two innings on the mound, Venkkat showcased some two-way ability as he worked 78-81 mph with his fastball while strong show command of his secondary offerings.

Deron Koppel (2023, Norwalk, CT) had the swing-and-miss formula working this afternoon, punching out nine over his four innings of work. The talented, uncommitted right-hander threw at a 65% strike clip while only surrendering one hit throughout his time on the mound. Sitting in the 82-84 mph range, Koppel was able to hold his velo, grabbing several 85’s. Using his slider often, the Connecticut-native was able to land his secondary offering in various counts, using it to get ahead in counts, while also using it as a strikeout pitch to sit down opposing hitters.

Matthew Mulato (2023, Leonia, NJ) led off the bottom of the 3rd with a hard shot through the left side for a leadoff single, continuing to showcase his strong feel for the barrel.

Stoy Fohring (2024, Milford, NJ) followed his Navy teammate Mulato, ambushing the first pitch he saw, lining it into left for a base knock. Flashing some pull side pop as the ball jumped off his bat.

Joseph Mennella (2023, Staten Island, NY) peppered a line-drive through the left side for a single, barreling up an 82-mph fastball on the inner half. Mennella displayed strong, quick hands as he kept his hands inside the ball, producing some barrel whip.

Jordan Meirowitz (2024, Roslyn Heights, NY) battled through an at-bat, ending with a hard-hit line-drive into left for a knock. Keeping it simple with his compact stroke, using his present strength to generate some leverage through contact.

Evan Kochanskyj (2024, Clifton Park, NY) found a couple barrels in his handful of trips to the plate. Dumping a single into right during his second trip to the plate, Kochanskyj would again go the other way in his third trip to the plate, hitting a hard-ground down the first baseline, keeping it fair just inside the bag.

1-Columbia Blue vs 4-Red Game Highlights  >>

6/5/2022 5:00:00 AM

Gabriel Blanco (2025, Blainville, QC – Can) got the Columbia Blue squad rolling at the plate this morning with a leadoff single in the bottom half of the first. Blanco stayed on a fastball, driving it back up where it came from. Collecting his second hit of the game, Blanco dumped a single into center during his last trip to the plate.

John Rogers (2024, The Plains, VA) ripped a triple into the right-center gap to leadoff the second inning. Motoring into third, Rodgers just continues to show off his athleticism this weekend as he flew around the bases. Handling a fastball in the lower third of the zone, dropped the barrel on it, using his long levers to lift through extension. Rodgers found his second barrel in his second trip to the plate, lining a single back up the middle, continuing to work through the gaps.

Juvel Mendez (2023, New Milford, NJ) unloaded on a fastball for ground-rule double. Mendez continues to barrel balls this weekend producing loud contact that echoes throughout the complex as he continues to display his power potential. Oozing athleticism, the talented shortstop will be one to follow throughout the summer.

Joseph McMannis (2023, Emmitsburg, MD) shot a fastball the other way for a single in his first trip to the plate Sunday morning, continuing to showcase himself well in multiple facets, the Maryland commit was able to get the bat head through the zone with tons of strength in his hands.

Philip Trojanowski (2022, Fort Worth, TX) tossed three innings of one-hit ball for the Columbia Blue team Sunday morning. Mixing his fastball-curveball combo effectively throughout his three innings of work, Trojanowski kept hitters off-balance, as he generated a lot of groundball outs during his outing. While also collecting a knock in his first trip to the plate, the Texas-native dumped a bloop single over the third baseman’s head.

Ryan Burke (2025, Sudbury, MA) offered an intriguing look on the bump, dueling Trojanowski to start Sunday’s matchup. Burke would also go three innings, punching out six as he flashed some swing-and-miss potential with his repertoire. The slenderly built right-hander worked in the 77-80 mph range for the majority of his outing, topping out at 81 mph with certainly more velocity left in the tank as he fills out his 6’2”/180lbs frame.

Gabe Albertson (2023, Wellesley, MA) put together a good AB, fighting off several breaking balls before barreling up a fastball, driving it into left. With some loft in his stroke, Albertson displays great barrel awareness and plate discipline, fouling pitches off util he got something to drive.

Jaden DeLuca (2023, Philadelphia, PA) ambushed the first pitch he saw, lining it over the third baseman’s head for a 1-out single. A short, compact stroke, DeLuca translates his strength into his swing well with present quickness in his hands that produce good bat speed.

Gianni Ricci (2024, Loudonville, NY) smoked an RBI-double into the right-center gap, scoring his fellow red teammate from second. Staying on a middle-middle fastball, Ricci dropped the barrel on the ball for a loud double. The 6-3, New York native, creates some lift through his zone with his long limbs. Ricci plated the red teams first run of the day, later coming around to score himself on a sac-fly.

Robert Pearlman (2024, Greenwich, CT) continued to stay hot at the plate, adding two more hits to his credit on Sunday. Pearlman has really impressed with several hard hit balls to his credit, an advanced approach, and the ability to translate his strength into his game swings.

Angel Rivera (2023, Trujillo Alto, PR) came out of the 'pen hot, sitting 84-85 mph during his time on the mound. Working with a simple, easy operation, the ball exploded out of his hand as he comes from a shorter arm action, creating some downhill plane with his heater. Generating swing-and-misses with his heater, he tallied four punch outs during his two innings on the mound

3-Navy v. 4-Red Game Highlights  >>

6/5/2022 12:06:11 AM

Gabe Albertson (2023 1B, Wellesley, MA) set the tone early on, leading off the game with a deep homer to right center field. The uncommitted 2023 implores a loose, lofted stroke with tons of present bat speed, leverage out in-front and strength at impact.

Juvel Mendez (2023 SS, New Milford, NJ) continued to impress at the plate, as the quick twitch middle-infielder scorched a line drive single in his first at-bat and produced another line drive single in his second at-bat. He followed it up with another loud single his third. The uncommitted 2023 Grad implores a simple, repeatable stroke with good feel for the barrel and tons of quickness to his hands. He stays short and direct with his hands to deliver the barrel with authority.

Hagan Ward (2023 RHP, Wellesley, MA) was dominant during his three innings of work, as the Notre Dame commit punched out six. The physically imposing 6-foot-7, 230-pound right-hander ran his fastball up to 90 mph (2550-2710 RPMs) from a deceptive three-quarters arm slot. He mixed in a faded changeup for swings-and-misses and a short, late biting slider as his go-to secondaries.

Jeremy Espinal (2024 SS, Bronx, NY) showed off his in-game power potential with a loud ground-rule double to centerfield. The smooth, right-handed hitter has looseness to his hands and excellent feel for the barrel, while displaying plenty of present bat speed.

Robert Perlman (2024 OF, Greenwich, CT) showed off his in-game power, launching a homer to left field. The twitchy outfielder leverages the ball extremely well out in-front, while showing good feel for the barrel.

Matthew Mulato (2023 SS, Leonia, NJ) collected three hits in this one, as the uncommitted 2023 middle-infielder implores a simple stroke with line drive tendencies. He exhibits plenty of present bat speed and delivers the barrel with authority.

Jon Melarczik (2023 C, Carmel, NY) also collected two hits during game action, as the right-handed hitting backstop stays short and direct with his hands. He displayed good feel for the barrel and has plenty of bat speed.

Tyler Yoo (2025 C, Palisades Park, NJ) delivered two hits in this one, as the 2025 catcher uses his lower half well to create torque into contact. He has strength in his hands and will continue to develop power as he physically matures.

1-Columbia Blue vs. 2-Gold Game Highlights >>

6/4/2022 8:41:14 PM

Philip Trojanowski (2022 SS, Fort Worth, TX) led off the game with a nice piece of opposite field hitting, driving a ball into the left centerfield gap for a double. The 6’1” 195 pound lefty saw the ball deep in the zone with strength present in the hands. He continued the opposite field approach in the 7th, driving another double down the LF line.

Jonathan Rodriguez (2024 SS, Newark, NJ) turned on an inside pitch with success, roping a ball down the left field line  for a double in his first AB. The 5’10” 160 pound frame for the righty is projectable and athletic with plenty of bat speed evident in the stroke.

Angel Rivera (2023 C, Trujillo Alto, PR) put the raw power potential on display early, stroking a double to deep center with easy carry and backspin present. The strong framed 6’1” 190 pound prospect showcased the ability to get the barrel out in front and create lift in the bat path.

Gabriel Blanco (2025 LHP, Blainville, QC) posted a final stat line of zero run five strikeout baseball in his three innings of work on the bump. From a high 3/4 slot, the physical 6’3” 185 pound lefty held velocity well throughout the appearance, sitting 76-78 mph while topping 79 mph (2112 rpm). He changed eye levels of hitters well and generated consistent swing and miss with both the FB and 11-5 breaker.

Luke Burden (2024 RHP, West Harrison, NY) was impressive on the bump as well in his appearance, sitting in the low to mid 80’s with the FB and ultimately touching 86 mph (~2000 rpm). The 6’3” 180 pound righty used a compact delivery and 3/4 slot to record outs efficiently, flashing a tight slider with evident horizontal break as his primary out pitch.

Joseph McMannis (2023 RHP, Emmitsburg, MD) geared it up to 91 mph on the bump in what one could say was an eye opening outing for the Maryland commit. The physical 6’4” 225 pound righty was loose, fluid, and effortless with the mechanics which clearly translated on the gun. From a 3/4 slot, he recorded all nine outs via the punch out, dropping in a breaker that could be manipulated for both vertical and horizontal depth.

Sebastian Perez (2023 2B, West New York, NJ) shot an RBI single back up the middle in the 9th displaying a compact bat path with simple repeatable swing mechanics. The 6’0” 200 pound righty has clear strength in the lower half with power potential continuing to develop.
