Jack Leiter (2019 RHP, Summit, NJ) continues to make nice strides on the mound and ran his fastball up to 94 mph to start day two of the event. His arm action is both fast and online through the back and he mixed in a nice curveball and slider for strikes. 

Daniel Espino (2019 RHP, Statesboro, GA) came out throwing fire with his fastball as he lived in the 95-98 mph range with his fastball and worked around the zone while showing a fast arm action. He also mixed in a hard, sharp curveball and flashed a changeup up to 88 mph, helping him strike out 5.

Owen Cobb (2019 SS, Seattle, WA) did a nice job of keeping his weight back on a curveball and drove the pitch to the left-center field gap for a standup double that jumped off the bat.

Dylan Simmons (2019 1B, Jacksonville, FL) put the Gold squad on the scoreboard in the second inning with a hard single through the right side, getting extended on a 94 mph fastball while finding the barrel.

Kendall Williams (2019 RHP, Olive Branch, MS) continues to evolve on the mound and came out living in the low-90s, bumping as high as 94 mph with his fastball. He showed a nice feel for his curveball, spinning the pitch in the 72-74 mph with 12-6 shape.

Tyler Owens (2019 RHP, Ocala, FL) came out pumping the fastball as he bumped as high as 96 mph early in his first inning and managed to blow it past several hitters. He’s a strongly built Florida State commit who generated plane to his fastball and spun a slider in the low-80s.

William Kempner (2019 RHP, San Jose, CA) came out attacking hitters with a heavy fastball from a lower arm slot, generating some late sinking life while topping out at 93 mph. On top of the velocity he also mixed in a slider that bumped 78 mph with late tilt.

Garrett Frechette (2019 1B, Vista, CA) turned on a fastball and found the barrel once again, showing a loose and easy stroke with nice jump off the bat for a deep double to right-center field.

Over his first couple of at-bats on the day Jaden Woodson (2019 SS, Dallas, TX) found a couple of barrels, including on his single in which he spun around 87 mph for a line drive single over the third baseman’s head.

Rece Hinds (2019 SS, Niceville, FL) took one of the louder rounds of batting practice and generated one of the louder pieces of contact as he jumped on a curveball and barreled it hard into the left-center field gap that bounced up off the wall.

Spencer Rich (2019 IF, Longmont, CO) came out hard from the righthanded batter’s box after singling into left field and alertly took second base on the throwing, showing his speed as well as ability to accelerate around the bag.

Ryan Hawks (2019 RHP, Bowling Green, KY) is a strongly built righthanded who came out and ran his fastball up to 92 mph, showing heavy sink to his heater through the zone from a lower slot. The Louisville commit also mixed in both a changeup at 81 and a slider in the upper-70s.

A primary shortstop, Xander Hamilton (2019 OF, Raleigh, NC) impressed during his one inning stint on the mound, running his fastball up to 91 mph with a quick right arm while showing a faster arm stroke through the back. On top of hte fastball the Virginia Tech commit also mixed in a harder slider at 83-84 mph.
