2014 Southeast Top & Underclass

16-Purple vs. 14-Maroon Highlights
8/24/2014 10:36:46 AM
Taylor Wilkes (RHP/SS/3B/OF, Jefferson HS, GA) projects as a bullpen arm with great stuff in relief. Wilkes topped out at 89 MPH from a high 3/4 arm slot and heavy run. Wilkes keeps the ball down in the zone and can get late bite on his SL, which was 81 MPH. Wilkes worked fast and went right after batters while doing a good job of keeping them off balance mixing speeds and location.

Jeffrey Omohundro (2016, SS/2B, Houston Academy, AL) showed good bat speed with some pop going 2-3 with an RBI triple and a single. Omohundro looks very balanced in the box and makes solid, hard contact and can get leverage in his swing.

Brandon Puckett (2016, OF/RHP, Lassister HS, GA) is a very patient hitter that likes to send the ball back up the middle or to the opposite field. Puckett allows the ball to travel into the zone and consistently drove the ball.

Angel Rojas (2016, OF, San Juan, PR) is a fast twitch, high energy player with quick hands at the plate. Rojas has a fluid stroke and can barrel up balls and is a force on the bases with game-changing speed.

Charles Bailey (2016, RHP/3B/1B/OF, Grady HS, GA) features a quick, loose arm to go with his large, athletic frame. Bailey has a big arm circle and gets extended at release point. Bailey competes and throws strikes on the mound and his velocity improved as the game progressed. Bailey's FB has some arm-side run and hit 80 MPH with a SL at 69 MPH.

Patrick Frick (2016, SS/3B/OF, J L Mann HS, SC) struck the ball well picking up a 2B in the game. Frick pulled the ball to LF with some good bat speed. He barreled up the ball and displayed a power potential.
