2014 Southeast Top & Underclass

10- Cardinal vs. 9- Kelly Green Highlights
8/23/2014 1:55:11 PM
Luke Yelverton (2016 RHP, Demopolis, AL) has good command of three pitches that resulted in a solid three innings of work.  Yelverton gave up no hits and had 8 K's out of 9 possible outs.  He's a bulldog on the mound and features a smooth, online delivery with good arm action.  Yelverton's 70 MPH curve ball is his out pitch to go with a 74 MPH CH and an 84 MPH fastball.

Owen Griffith (2016 C, Aiken, SC) has an aggressive approach at the plate and looks to drive the baseball.  Griffith went 3-3 with three doubles and two runs scored on the day.  He doubled deep in the left- center gap in his first at bat before drilling another double his next time at the plate.  Griffith also waits back on the curve ball well.

Gabriel Holt (2017 SS, Bonaire, GA) went 2-3 with a triple and a double resulting in one RBI and a run scored.  Holt displayed gap power when he drove the ball off of the LF wall and has an all around solid hitting approach.  He also runs well, recording a 6.60 in the 60 earlier in the day.

Corey Roberts (2016 3B, Fairview, TX) showed a patient approach at the plate and the ability to drive the ball to all fields.  Roberts went 2-3 on the day with two doubles and two RBIs.  One of those doubles was hit well to opposite field.

Jordan Anderson (2017 OF, Madison, AL) went 2-3 with two singles, two runs scored and an RBI.  He showed an aggressive approach at the plate with a solid line drive up the middle on the first pitch of his at bat.  Anderson is athletic.  He ran a 6.80 in the 60 and threw 85 MPH from the outfield.

Zachary Haines (2016 C, Richmond Hill, GA) went 2-3 with a run scored.  He drove the ball up the middle and had a hard hit infield single.  Haines has solid hitting tools.

Jackson Braden (2017 RHP, Adairsville, GA) showed an aggressive approach at the plate and on the bases.  Braden went 1-3 with a single and one run scored.  He drove a line drive up the middle in his third at bat of the day.  Braden then had a good read on a ball in the dirt and stole second base.
