2014 PG Underclass All American Games

Tuesday Highlights from California(Black)
8/13/2014 8:47:58 AM
OF Dominic Fletcher (Cypress, CA) is simply a fun player to watch on the baseball field.  He's wowed everyone with his extremely strong and accurate throwing arm and been almost impressive at the plate.  Fletcher faced three of the top pitching prospects at the event on Tuesday, LHP Jeff Belge (Syracuse, NY), RHP Max Kranick (Jessup, PA) and RHP Josh Lowe (Marietta, GA) and went 2-2 with a walk and a couple of stolen bases.  Fletcher was also up to 87 mph during short stint on the mound.

3B Brady Shockey (Irvine, CA) had a couple of hits, including a opposite field double off of Belge, and was one of the more polished hitters we saw in San Diego.  That is hardly surprising, as Shockey plays for coach Brett Kay at J Serra High School and Kay was the winning coach for the West Team at Sunday's PG All-American Classic.

C Ryan Orr (Encinitas, CA) hit a couple of balls hard to the opposite field on Monday and showed his versatility as a hitter Tuesday, as the right handed hitter pulled a hard double into the left field corner that picked up two runs for his team.

6-foot-3, 165 pound right hander Tre Brown (Chula Vista, CA) has lots of projection in his body and arm and was getting plenty of attention from the California based scouts and college coaches behind the plate.  Brown topped out at 87 mph with a 71 mph curveball and nice 77 mph changeup.
