While the Cavaliers top the rankings, many teams are hot on their heels, such as No. 2 Florida State, which took a series from rival Miami over the weekend, No. 3 Cal State Fullerton, who went on the road and swept previously top-10 Oregon, and of course, No. 4 South Carolina, who went 3-0 over the weekend by sweeping rival Clemson in dramatic fashion.

Vanderbilt and Oregon State remain No. 5 and No. 6 in this week’s rankings, while Cal Poly and UCLA entered the top 10 following successful weeks. The Mustangs vaulted to No. 9 after going 2-1 last week, while the Bruins, who beat Carlos Rodon and N.C. State, while going 3-0 at the Irish Classic over the weekend, moved from No. 14 to No. 10.

Louisiana-Lafayette, which had a sensational week that included a midweek win (road) over in-state rival LSU and weekend series win over previously ranked Alabama, made the biggest jump of the week, climbing from No. 24 to No. 14. Meanwhile, Clemson and Rice, who each had tough weekends, dropped to No’s 16 and 17, respectively, while Miami fell from No. 15 to No. 20 after the road series loss to Florida State.

Three new teams are in this week’s rankings: Texas (19), Fresno State (24) and Sam Houston State (25). The Longhorns won the Houston College Classic by going 3-0 over the weekend, while the Bulldogs added another impressive series win to their resume by sweeping Texas A&M at home, and Sam Houston State had yet another impressive showing, this time at the Houston College Classic.

The Perfect Game College Top 25 is released every Monday morning during the regular season.
