Mississippi and Rice couldn't have made bigger statements on Opening Weekend of college baseball season, and for that and more, both are the big risers in this week's Perfect Game College Top 25 rankings.

The Rebels hosted TCU over the weekend, which eliminated them from the NCAA postseason last June. Ole Miss got a little revenge against coach JIm Schlossnagle's club with a home series sweep. Meanwhile, Rice recorded a home series win over Stanford with excellent starting pitching led by Austin Kubitza and John Simms.

While the Rebels and Owls were big movers to No's 14 and 15, respectively, Stanford dropped two spots to No. 6 and TCU dropped six spots to No. 20.

As for the rest of the top 25, North Carolina remains the nation's No. 1 team following a home series win over Seton Hall, while Arkansas, Vanderbilt, LSU and UCLA round out the top five.

UCLA is the new entrant to the top five, replacing Pac-12 foe Stanford. The Bruins had a solid opening weekend, especially in the last two games, with a home series win over the Big Ten's Minnesota Golden Gophers.

San Diego is the lone team to move out of the rankings following an 0-3 record against rival San Diego State at home over the weekend. Meanwhile, Southern Mississippi, which used excellent starting pitching to sweep the SEC's Missouri Tigers, moved into the rankings at No. 23.
