Maybe it’s because his summer in the Cape Cod League was shortened due to injury, or maybe it’s because he doesn’t play in the more visible SEC, but for whatever reason, Jared King might be going into this spring somewhat underrated. King is one of those players that’s easier to appreciate with repeated viewings and is likely continue to grow on scouts that come out to see him this spring. That’s the appreciation I came to have for King’s game after seeing him put on a show in all facets of the game on Cape Cod last summer. Yes, he is also toolsy player that has aspects of his game that should be immediately noticeable, but the most attractive part of King’s game is quite simple - he can hit.
