CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Perfect Game is proud to announce the introduction of Perfect Game Performance Gear, a new line of sporting active wear designed to help athletes at all levels of competition stay cool during even their most intense workouts and competitive situations.

PG Performance Gear uses a chemical-free cooling technology that utilizes a two-layer weave of yarn that acts like a coil, much like water flowing through the radiator of car.

The new product line -- including collared golf shirts, performance T-shirts, women's shirts, shorts and towels -- will be introduced and offered for sale at three Perfect Game tournaments this month: the PG WWBA Underclass World Championship (Oct. 4-8) in Fort Myers, Fla.; the PG WWBA Florida Qualifier (Oct. 12-15) in Fort Myers; and the PG WWBA World Championship (Oct. 24-29) in Jupiter, Fla.

The 100-percent polyester fabric with the innovative two-layer yarn design has been tested successfully several times with European and South American soccer teams. It uses a technology that is activated by air, utilizing the wind and body movement.

Body temperature was shown to fall by 1- to 2-degrees while worn by athletes during extremely warm testing conditions. When tested for coolness and effectiveness against competitive brands, PG Performance Gear was consistently found to lower body temperature more significantly than other brands on the market.

Shirts manufactured with the PG Performance Gear design qualities can also be used as an undergarment for warmth because it is insulated.

While some manufacturers have produced performance wear that uses chemicals to provide a cooling effect, those chemicals are generally rendered useless after as few as 10 to 20 launderings. The technology and mechanical features used in PG Performance Gear enable the products to continue to work efficiently after as many 100 launderings, research has shown.

PG Performance Gear will be available at the online PG Store in the coming weeks, in plenty of time for holiday gift-giving.
