Florida
The final Florida rankings see the two 5A finalists in the top two spots with American Heritage No. 1 and Tampa Jesuit behind them. Two more state champs are next, 6A champ Archbishop McCarthy and 8A champ Spruce Creek. Columbus ends the year at No. 5.
Other state champs in the rankings are 7A champ Venice at No. 7, 3A champ Pensacola Catholic at No. 8, and 4A Champ Providence at 17.

Great Plains
The season concluded in Missouri with a surprise in Class 4. Rockwood Summit went a respectable 15-9 in the regular season but looked to be overmatched and had a brutal path laying in front of them. But the Falcons knocked out highly ranked Parkway South in the first round. Their run looked to be in jeopardy when they drew No. 6 Liberty in the semifinals, but they hammered Librerty 10-3 in the semis before knocking off Parkway North to capture the state championship.
In Missouri’s Class 3 there was far less surprise as No. 5 Westminster Christian successfully defended their title with ease. Their 3-0 first round victory over Orchard Farm was the closest game they played all tournament.
The other state with postseason games going on this past week is Minnesota, which saw a few surprise upsets. As it stands now No. 16 Bemidji is the top ranked team in the state, but things are changing quickly this postseason.
New additions this week include: No. 20 Red Wing (MN).

Mid-Atlantic
Virginia playoffs hit their final weekend as the season wraps up in the region. South Carolina AAAA champ Ashley Ridge remains in the top spot, followed by VA AAA favorite Lake Braddock and North Carolina AAAA champ Middle Creek.
New additions include: No. 16 Freedom (VA), No. 21 Powhatan (VA), and Brookville (VA).

Midwest
Ohio’s season is over with Illinois championships this weekend and Kentucky and Indiana to follow, with Michigan the next week.
Lake Central (IN) stays in the top spot followed by Ohio Division One champ Moeller and Illinois 4A semifinalist Lyons.
New additions: Minooka (IL), Roncalli (IN), Grant (IL), Greensburg (IN), and Meade County (KY).

Northeast
Salisbury School (CT) and their undefeated season sit in the top spot followed by Grand Street Campus (NY) who takes on No. 7 George Washington for the NYC title. New Jersey rivals Don Bosco and Gloucester Catholic also face on the Non-Public title game.
New additions: Altoona (PA), Raritan (NJ), Fordham Prep (NY), Hatboro-Horsham (PA), Cranford (NJ), Mahwah (NJ), and Neumann-Goretti (PA).

Northwest
No. 1 Kentwood (WA) put the finishing touches on a dominant season by capturing the Washington 4A state championship by knocking off No. 2 Puyallup (WA) 4-1 in the title game last week. The Conquerors will return their top prospect, C Reese McGuire next season, who is on the short list of top catchers in the class of 2013.
Washington’s 3A champions Kamiakin comes in at No. 3, slotting in behind the talented finalists from the 4A bracket. 3A runners-up Eastside Catholic comes in at No. 11 after their run to the title game. Washginton’s 2A state champions, Archbishop Murphy, enters the rankings at No. 21 this week.
The only thing left to settle in the Northwest region is this weekend’s state championship games in the state of Oregon. No. 4 Thurston takes on No. 12 Oregon City in the 6A championship matchup, while No. 7 Summit squares off with No. 15 Portland Wilson in the 5A game.

Pacific
The CIF Sectional championships saw one last shakeup as the season in baseball's top hotbed state of California came to an end last week. The big climber that came from championship weekend was No. 9 Cathedral Catholic, who rode the powerful left arm of Stephen Gonsalves in the title game. Gonsalves struck out eight in a complete game performance as Cathedral Catholic knocked off previously No. 17 ranked El Capitan in the San Diego Section Division III championship game 3-1. It was the third meeting of the season between the two teams, with El Capitan winning the championship game of the Hilltop-Lolitas Tournament before Cathedral Catholic took the championship game of the San Diego Lions Tournament in April. These two teams have now met in the championship game three years in a row, with El Capitan capturing the 2010 title and Cathedral Catholic winning the past two.
Newbury Park was the last team standing after surviving the mine field that is the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs, the tournament featuring the most parity in the entire country. The championship lands the Panthers at No. 2 in the final regional ranking. Pacifica survived a similarly difficult tournament in the Southern Section’s Division II playoffs, coming in at No. 6.
New additions in the final Pacific Regional Top 25: No. 14 De La Salle and No. 20 Santa Fe Christian.

Southeast
The final Southeast rankings see two familiar Georgia teams: No. 1 Parkview, the recently crowned AAAA champ and Columbus, who just won the AAA title. They are followed by other state champions: No. 3 Barbe (LA), No.4 Loganville (GA) and No. 5 Oak Grove (MS) and
Other state champs in the regional ranks are No. 6 Oxford (AL), No.7 Arlington (TN), Teurlings Catholic (LA) at 16, Calvary Baptist (LA) at 17, Archbishop Rummel (LA) at 22.

Southwest
The season wrapped up in the Southwest Region over the weekend as the state of Utah was the final state to crown it’s champions. American Fork captured the 5A title by knocking off Taylorsville 2-1. The win moved American Fork up a spot, jumping over Arizona Division II champion Sunnyslope and into the No. 5 slot.
Utah’s 4A champion Skyline entered the rankings at No. 19, one slot behind 3A champs Snow Canyon who finished up their season a couple of days earlier and grabbed the No. 18 spot last week.

Texahoma
The brackets are set for the state championship at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX for the Texas 4A and 5A state playoffs starting today.
4A favorite Rockwall-Heath (No. 4) sends ace RHP/1B Jake Thompson to the mound to face No. 14 Lake Travis, just three days after the Detroit Tigers made him their top draft pick in the second round. The other 4A semifinal pits No. 13 Montgomery against No. 15 Cleburne.
The story in 5A has been Corpus Christi Carroll all season. They opened the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the region, and though they dropped ot the No. 2 spot for much of the year (behind 4A Calallen) they have remained near the top the entire season. The Carroll Tigers feature a core of seniors who are making a third consecutive trip to Round Rock, each of whom own a 2010 State Champions ring. That core is led by OF/RHP Courtney Hawkins, who was selected 12th overall by the Chicago White Sox in the 2012 MLB Draft on Monday night.
The Tigers will take on No. 7 A&M Consolidated who got off to a slow start to the season before making a strong push down the stretch. The other semifinal pairs up No. 3 Arlington Martin against No. 8 Cypress Ranch.
