Todd Gold      Ben Collman

Bishop Gorman (NV) moves into the top spot after a 5-0 start in which their closest game was a 4-0 win over Faith Lutheran. Being on top is nothing new to the Gaels, who have won six consecutive Nevada state championships and are led by two-way star and projected first round MLB Draft pick Joey Gallo, who was named MVP of the 2011 Perfect Game All-American Classic and the 2011 Perfect Game High School Position Player of the Year.

Corpus Christi Carroll (TX) moves up into the No. 2 spot and has a solid case for No. 1 thanks to an 11-0 start. They are joined in the top ten by fellow Texas schools Calallen (No. 6) and Klein Collins, who climbs into the top 10, landing at No. 9 after a 12 game winning streak that puts them at 13-2 on the year.

Tampa Jesuit which has held the top spot in the rankings since the preseason drops three spots to No. 4 after a 3-0 loss to Gulliver Prep Saturday.

Olympia (FL) remains undefeated and is up to No. 7. George Washington (NY) has pounded the ball for four games and remains at No. 10, closely followed by Columbus (FL).

Lakewood (CA) becomes the top ranked team from California after moving up to No. 12, making the second straight week that the Golden State has been shut out of the top ten. 8-1 Lakewood is followed by a pair of Division II Moore League clubs in No. 20 Bishop Alemany and No. 22 Harvard-Westlake who each made short moves up this week. Huntington Beach climbs to No. 28 after improving to 8-0 on the year after opening the season unranked thanks to several highly impressive wins by the Oilers. Preseason No. 5 Mater Dei slides to No. 26 after falling to 5-3 after a tough loss to Orange Lutheran.

Barbe (LA) has continued its roll  and moves up to No. 17 and Farragut (TN) hasn't missed a beat since its 2011 title, winning its first four games.

Edmond Santa Fe reclaims the top spot in the state of Oklahoma thanks to a loss by Owasso and a dominant showing in the Coach Bob National Invitational opener by RHP Ty Hensley (CG no-hitter, 13 K, 1 BB, 2-for-2 with a HR) who has made a big jump from last season. The Wolves move up to No. 38, with Owasso slotting in at No. 39.

Colorado gains a representative in the National Top 50 rankings for the first time this season as 2011 5A runner-up Cherry Creek debuts at No. 48 thanks to an impressive 4-0 start that included a revenge victory over defending champion Regis Jesuit in the season opener.

Other wew additions include: No. 37 Winter Springs (FL), No. 42 IMG Academies (FL), No. 45 Long Beach Wilson (CA), No. 46 SB Memorial (TX), No. 47 Oak Grove (MS) and No. 50 Providence Catholic (IL).
