No. 1 Gulliver (FL) maintained its grasp on the top spot in the rankings in spite of a surprising loss to a solid American Heritage team the night before the preseason poll was released. The Raiders have bounced back with 4 straight wins, capped off by a great showing over the weekend by going 3-0 in the Florida/Georgia Challenge. Gulliver knocked off 3 very good Georgia teams Valdosta, Pope and previously 25th ranked Parkview. Farragut (TN) remained #2 as they get set to open their season on Monday against Heritage (TN).

No. 3 Broken Arrow (OK) took care of business, going 4-0, winning 3 of their games in convincing fashion. Ace Archie Bradley delivered an excellent start in the season opener and thus far the Tigers look every bit the powerhouse they were expected to be.

A pair of California teams moved into the top 5 with St. Francis (Mountain View) and Edison (Huntington Beach) sliding into the 4th and 5th spots respectively following impressive starts. St. Francis opened the season at #6 and moved up after going 4-0, while Edison is up from #8 following a 2-0 start.

Owasso (OK) moved up 6 spots from #12 with an absolutely dominant performance over the weekend, crushing Berryhill 26-0 on Saturday to move to 2-0. Spanish Fork remained at #7 as they await the start of the season in Utah. The Top 10 is rounded out by North Carolina’s Forsyth Country Day (prev. #4), Columbus (GA) remained at #9 and Archbishop McCarthy (FL) moved up from 15.

Flanagan (pictured above) and Ft. Bend Clements (TX) each made a huge jump after missing the preseason rankings. Defending Florida 6A champion Flanagan has gotten off to a 7-1 start in spite of facing a very difficult schedule and debuts at 16. The Clements Rangers are 10-0 and are coming off an impressive run that saw them capture the Ewell Jackson tournament championship this weekend. Clements debuted at #25 this week, making them the 2nd highest ranked team in state of Texas.

Other new additions to the rankings include: #32 Orangewood Christian (FL), #35 Marist (GA), #40 Atascocita (TX), #44 Bishop Verot (FL), #45 Oxford (AL), #47 Pinecrest (NC), #48 Weatherford (TX) and #49 Mesquite (AZ).
