WWBA 14u Scout Notes: Day 1-2

Karter Bossman (2025, Clayton, N.C.) was outstanding in his performance on day three as he tossed five innings on the mound and struck out 10 against just one hit and a pair of walks. A 6-foot, 175-pound left-hander, he looks the part on the mound and the stuff was good. He worked up to 81 mph with the fastball showing a quick and clean delivery with an equally quick and clean arm stroke as he filled the zone with three pitches. While the fastball is a solid one, having worked in the upper-70s with comfort, it was the breaking ball that was the go-to ahead of the changeup. It’s a clean release and he throws it with real intent while getting short downer bite to it that tunnels fairly well off the fastball. The tight spin and ability to spin it out of the zone for empty swings gives the pitch good upside moving forward as the stuff undoubtedly ticks up.
