WWBA 14u Scout Notes: Day 1-2

Over the first two days of the tournament, BPA shortstop Christian Doty (2026, Olive Branch, Miss.) has continued to shine on both sides of the ball, but especially so when he has the bat in his hands as he’s now hitting .571 on the tournament and is coming of a three-hit day in game two. Doty is listed at 5-foot-11, 155 pounds but looks much more physical in person though the strength gains haven’t detracted from his ability in the box nor on the bases where he hits his top speed quickly out of the batter’s box and accelerates well around the bases. And given the frequency of which he gets on base and the pair of doubles he connected on, the run tool was on display prominently Friday morning’s 3-for-3 effort in which he also stole a pair of bags.
