Iowa Select Evans defeated MN Starters 2022 Red by a score of 6-2 on a chilly Saturday morning at Prospect Meadows. Davis Webb (2023, Tipton, Iowa) started on the bump for Iowa Select, going five innings before reaching the pitch limit. He created plenty of swing and miss with his fastball, striking out nine opposing batters and using just the heater to do so. There is endless projection to dream upon in his 6-foot-6, 215-pound frame, and he has certainty gathered some attention over the last two months. It’s easy to see that there is plenty of velocity left in the tank, and adding an off-speed pitch to his arsenal will be a welcomed development moving forward. The left-hander has a high ceiling, and he should continue to improve on the mound as he gains more experience.
