South World Series Scout Notes: Days 1-3





Travis Vlasek (2023, Missouri City, Texas) took the MV-Pitcher honors after his executed outing that started the South Texas Sliders O’Hara run to clinch the 16u South World Series Championship. In the first round of playoffs the 6-foot-2 right-hander took the mound for a dominant performance punching out 13 allowing only one hit. He maintained control of the zone running the fastball up to 83 spinning the changeup curveball mix very well with a clean arm path. The arm action is compact and hides the ball very well with good jump out the hand. Rhythmic operation, he utilizes drop-and-drive off the back side while tunneling his pitches clean. Displayed a great feel for the zone and throwing his secondary in tight spots. Very well-rounded athlete. Vlasek is currently the No. 23 first baseman in Texas.
