14u World Series Scout Notes: Day 1

Texas Twelve had a trio of players standout to secure the win on Friday morning. It started at the top of the lineup with left-handed hitter Blaine Bullard (2025, Klein, Texas). He is a wiry-looking athlete that has a chance to grow in a big way. He has real hand speed at the plate and his loose levers give him good coverage. He turned on a fastball and picked up and RBI single and later laid down a very good bunt and ran a 4.01 down the line, which is an excellent time for a 14U player. The athleticism is real and going to develop in a big way. Bryce Wells (2025, San Antonio, Texas) already has noticeable strength in his forearms and the swing is balanced with low effort. The ability to impact the ball with spaced produced two hits with a double. The ball comes off hard with true back spin and there are bad intentions when he launches. Robert Jose Moreno (2025, Corpus Christi, Texas) is a good-looking left-handed pitcher with lot of length to the frame. He threw three-plus innings and pounded the strike zone. He has a clean arm action with a simple arm stroke and repeats the release. He moved the fastball to both sides and has feel to land the curveball. He mixed his pitches well as he located to the corners, helping to strike out four batters.
