Isaac Williams (2022, Fleming Island, Fla.) was very impressive in what he produced with his start going six innings and only allowing two hits while punching out seven but was even more impressive in terms of the stuff he showed. Holding 89-92 mph for most of his outing, he sank the fastball with a very easy release which allows him to hold velocity as well as he does. It’s a lower slot release which produces that natural sink to it, but he can also get up in the zone and produce some uphill life at times. While he got behind in counts a bit in this look forcing him to attack with the fastball often, he did show well with both of the secondary pitches, a slider and a changeup. The former is the better of the two at present as he throws it with similar ease to the fastball and gets short lateral bite while also showing excellent depth to it right around 78-80 mph consistently. The changeup he turns over from the same release as well and gets a good bit of arm-side fade to it giving him more than enough components to be a starter at the next level.
