14u World Series Scout Notes: Day 1

John Lash (2025, Charlotte, N.C.) stands at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with long lanky arms and room to fill out even more. He tossed four innings and punched out eight batters with a fastball that was up to 87 mph. Lash has a slower 12-6 breaking ball that has some nice bite to it. Against lefties he was pounding the glove side with fastballs and finishing them with the breaking pitch. He has a smooth windup and hides the ball well to make that 87 look even harder. Showing the ability to swing it as well, he picked up three hits and drove in two runs. 

Jordan Marlo (2025, Cross City, Fla.) just plays the game hard and to add on to that can really hit. On three hits today, one being a triple, he drove in an astounding seven runs, while scoring twice himself. The lefty has a nice leg kick that coils his power on his back hip and stays tall through contact. He was tied for No. 2 on the top performers list for the day.
