Thomas Stewart (2025, Lakewood, Colo.) made his second pitching appearance of the tournament on Monday for Slammers Black, this one in a start, where he went 4 1/3 innings striking out 10 batters. For Stewart it has become a pretty regular thing for him to have great control and be able to throw all his pitches for strikes when he wants to. Each time he has thrown in Hoover this summer the velocity has topped out at 86 mph, but yesterday he really pitched at 80-84 mph in wet conditions locating in, out and up down very well. When he is able command the fastball vertically in the zone it set up his big 12-6 curveball as he can play it off the fastball tunneling well from the same short arm action and release. Coming from a state like Colorado where there seems to be few top-end arms in each class, don’t be surprised if Stewart is one you hear a lot about in the 2025 class as his stuff projects and is advanced at present for the age.

Ethan Adams (2025, Parker, Colo.) was a guy that popped up on our radar after a showcase at the begging of the summer. The barrel ability stood out for the outfielder in his round of batting practice as well as in game. So far, his tournament showing has done little to disappoint as he has made two trips to Hoover now and found some barrels at each event. This week he has five hits over five games hitting over .380. Adams has a nice weight transfer into contact helping to provide some of the power he has shown to all fields. In Monday’s game he hammered a fastball over the right fielder's head for a double, driving in two runs. He is on the more physical side for a youngster but still has room to mature into his body adding strength and even more power to his game.
