13u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1
Denton Lord (2026, Marianna, Fla.) had some really dominant stuff in his start on Sunday. He threw 3 innings and struck out four while allowing no hits. The fastball sat in the mid-80s and bumped up to 88 multiple times in his first inning of work. Really effective downhill tilt from the 6-foot-4 frame. Painted the bottom of the zone and had a lot of swings and misses on heaters up in the zone. Clean mechanics with a lot of room to grow.


Matthew Hopkinson (2026, Mobile, Ala.) came into the game in relief and kept the dominant performance going. He struck out three hitters in 2 innings and also allowed no hits. Sat in the low-80s with the fastball and had some good arm-side run. Mixed in a big breaking ball as well.
 

Carson Bolemon (2026, Greenville, S.C.) shoved on the mound in his outing. Threw 3 innings and struck out eight while allowed no hits. Sat 79-81 with the fastball and topped at 82 early on. Very fastball heavy in his outing but the breaking ball had some really tight, late break on it. Really smooth, controlled mechanics for his age. Uses his lower half well on the mound and has a quick arm that gives life on his pitches.
