We’ve reached the final week of the regular season for most of the states in the Southeast and Texas, while some other places, like the Northeast, are seemingly just getting underway. Regardless, we have high school ball firing on all cylinders as teams go through the heart of their district play or get ready to make a state playoff run. As always, tag us in, or send us, your highlights so we can talk about you on the PG High School Notebook show recorded weekly.

There’s no movement in the top-six as No. 1 Buford (Ga.) swept Brady House’s ranked Winder-Barrow team last week with three pretty thorough wins, while No. 3 Tampa Jesuit (Fla.) picked up a pair of dominant wins at the end of the week over good teams and No.’s 4-6 in Thousand Oaks (Calif.), Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (Mich.) and Barbe (La.) continue to roll. Madison Central (Miss.) makes a jump up to No. 7 as they improved to 24-0 on the season, while Stoneman Douglas (Fla.) makes the jump back into the top-10 as they prepare for a pair of big games this week, headlined by a matchup with No. 8 Calvary Christian Academy (Fla.).

There wasn’t a significant amount of movement through the rest of the top half as teams like Jackson Prep (Miss.), Reagan (Texas), and Lakeland Christian (Fla.) move up a spot or two, while Malvern Prep (Pa.) continues their surge moving up five more spots to No. 21 after a red-hot 10-0 start to the year. Friendswood (Texas) and Heritage Hall (Okla.) are the two other biggest risers this week as the former moved up eight spots to No. 25 as they moved to 20-0 on the year and the latter continues to get great play out of All-American Jackson Jobe, moving them up five spots to No. 27.

Four new teams join the rankings this week with Phenix City Central (Ala.) debuting the highest of the group at No. 38, as they currently sit at a 20-3 record in what has been a talented crop of Alabama teams this year. Trinity (Ky.) comes in at No. 41 as they’re coming off a big win over St. X, who looks like a top team in the state, while Olentangy Orange (Ohio) slides in at No. 48 with a big win of their own over a previously-ranked Walsh Jesuit team and being led by Vanderbilt commit Matthew Wolfe. Rancho Bernando (Calif.) is another West Coast team to make their way into the rankings at No. 46 as they’re 14-0 with some big offensive numbers early on.
