Nazier Mule, SS/RHP, Class of 2022
Commitment: Miami

One of the most electric two-way prospects in the country, regardless of class, made his long-awaited announcement a big one with his commitment to the University of Miami. Mule, who stems from the Northeast, has long been in the national spotlight, and for good reason. At just 13, he was already running his fastball up to 87 mph before reaching 94 mph in his 14-year-old season on his way to an easy PG Select Festival invite. Now a junior, Mule reaches 96 mph on the mound with all the components to project on in arm speed, athleticism and pure arm talent, but he may have even bigger upside on the other side of the ball. He holds his own at shortstop with strong hands and excellent feel ranging to both sides while his arm strength plays easily from the left side. On the offensive end he generates tremendous bat speed to go with a ton of present strength and consistency in how he hits against a variety of different arms. The upside is vast no matter where he ends up on the diamond, making for another high-end prospect in a strong class for the ‘Canes.

Outlook for the Class: Per usual for the staff, this class is shaping up to be a big one, as long as they can get their high-end prospects past the draft and to campus. Mule makes the 16th prospect committed for the class with eight primary arms and seven primary positions guys aside from him, highlighted by the top-ranked prospect in the class in Elijah Green. His profile fits right in with what style of prospects they have for this group as all but two currently weigh in at least 180 pounds, showing the pure physicality and strength already on the frames to go with excellent athletes littered throughout. Miami does an excellent job at recruiting out of the state, and although Mule is only the second in the class not from the state of Florida, he joins Alvin Keels as another top-50 prospect from up toward the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast regions.
