O’Hara, the team’s shortstop, is an excellent quick-twitch athlete with very smooth glove work. He gets his feet set into athletic positions with ease and shows very smooth hands, particularly to the backhand, with more than enough arm strength to stick on the left side. Gonzales is a very physical hitter, coming in listed at 6-foot, 205 pounds. The swing is a bit inconsistent but at its best he’s very direct to contact, generating quality bat speed and showing the ability to impact the ball to the pull side. The swing is balanced and he’ll take aggressive cuts in plus counts, but the extra base potential is both present and exciting given the projection.
