30 Prep Draft Risers to Know

With the majority of the summer circuit events in the rearview mirror, Brian Sakowski and Vinnie Cervino look back at 30 prep prospects who saw their stock rise throughout the summer, performing at a variety of events while establishing themselves on the national scene. While some were known commodities who took the next step forward, others burst into the limelight in a loud way and haven't looked back. The 2021 class has a multitude of high level prospects to follow closely from now until next June and both Brian and Vinnie will keep you updated with weekly segments pertaining to all things draft related.

Maddux Bruns, lhp, UMS-Wright Preparatory (Miss.)



Bruns came into the summer as a relatively known name, having shown upper-80’s velocity with projectable spin last summer. His newfound velocity was something of a revelation at PG National, running his fastball up to 96-97 mph with flashes of a plus slider. He’s struggled with command in spurts this summer and will need to refine that moving forward, but the power stuff from the left side gives him prodigious draft upside.
