Righthander Ty Sexton (2021, Montgomery, Texas) hadn’t thrown at a PG event in over a year when he took the mound for Twelve Baseball Wednesday morning but it didn’t take long for the towering 6-foot-6, 190-pound Texas A&M commit to show how much he’s improved. In July, 2019, Sexton worked in the 83-86 mph range with an upper 60’s curveball.  In his two innings Wednesday, Sexton sat between 89 and 91 mph on his fastball with a 74 mph breaking ball, striking out three of the six hitters he faced. He throws from an extended high ¾’s arm slot that creates huge downhill angle to the plate and repeated his mechanics well. Sexton doesn’t use much of his lower half at all and when he learns how to get into his hips even a bit to help him generate velocity, he has the potential to add significantly to his already strong fastball.
