16u East WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 & 2
Cole Burton (2022 Canton, MS) is an interesting prospect for East Coast Sox Prime. The primary righthanded pitcher was up to 86 mph on the mound. He worked four innings of no hit baseball allowing no runs and striking out nine. His fastball sat mostly 83-85 mph with tilt at times from his 6-2 frame as he located well to both sides of the plate. He also mixed in a breaking ball in the in the low 70’s with depth when the arm speed was consistent. Earlier in the tournament he showed a smooth righthanded swing with two well struck balls to the pull side. In the outfield he showed good range playing a solid center field running down balls in the gaps.
